  • I love fried red potatoes for breakfast, with an egg. Thinly sliced with a mandolin, the fried in a tsp of canola oil on very low heat until cooked through. You can turn the heat up a little bit at the end, if they need browned.
  • I've never thought about it, but love the idea! I exercise an hour a day at the gym after work every day. I'd love to take the 'after work' part out for a week and just treat myself! I love to cook, so I can't help but think of all of the healthy meals you could prepare. My husband is going on a fishing trip in a month,…
  • A few years ago, my doctor suggested that I give up artificial sweeteners, to see if it relieved some symptoms I was dealing with. She told me that she had other patients that had similar symptoms, and had seen improvements by cutting them out. I have developed pain & stiffness in my hands & feet, and loss of dexterity.…
  • Cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, and put it face up in a microwave dish with about an inch of water on the bottom. Cover with Saran Wrap, and cook 10-14 minutes, depending on how big it is. I shred the noodles & leave in the skin to use as a bowl, topped with sauce.
  • I was going to suggest this as well! I make anywhere from 3-5 dinners on Sundays, to have ready when I come home after work & the gym. Crockpot meals are always included. Easy ideas: 1. (as suggested above) Chicken breast or pork loin in green salsa for tacos or taco salad. 2. Meatloaf. Make 3 or 4 at a time, and wrap them…
  • I'm 5'3", 165 lbs. 40-33-40.
  • I also really like the idea of one higher number every day as opposed to what I've been doing. The one thing that's a little frustrating is that every calculator I've used comes up with a different number, with a range of about 300 calories. That's a pretty big range, so I'm not sure which number to trust. I started with…
  • Thank you! I think I'm going to change my settings to -20% (just saw that on another post).
  • [/quote] I would say to just weigh every week, because an obsession is not healthy. Advice? Build a family on MFP to keep you motivated and goal oriented. Join challenges and groups. Make an exercise plan to follow weekly and stick to healthy eating. Remember everything is a process, don't rush it. I would also check the…
  • I've noticed that there are foods in the database that I didn't input when I'm out of wifi range too, but for some reason, I never thought much about it. Thanks for checking!
  • That's what I was afraid of! Thanks for the info though. I'll be on a cruise ship for 4 days, and then a private boat for 2. Hopefully I can find wifi and avoid losing my streak though!
  • Good timing for me. I just finished week 4, and am not seeing the results I had hoped. I will just keep going on! You look great! Thank you!
  • That's a good idea. I just started today, so hopefully that will help! My extra 2.5 lbs and I are off to my Bodypump class. Thanks!
  • I just finished my 4th week of consecutive work outs. First week of including lifting. I am UP 2.4 lbs today!!! Not happy, but I'm told it's temporary, & due to the lifting & sore muscles. Almost enough to make me want to quit, but my husband complimented my butt today, so I guess I'll keep it up! Hope the rest of you have…
  • Nuts servings ARE disappointing! :) I agree with the bread, I also buy from bakeries, and was very happy with the serving sizes once weighed.
  • Does his pediatrician think he's too small? I'd get their advice before trying anything else. Chances are his appetite will improve right before a growth spurt.
  • I do much better with food choices, when I prep foods on Sunday for the week. Good luck! I'm down 1.4 lbs, to 166.4. :)
  • I take 50 mg of carvedilol/day for dilated cardiomyopathy & congestive heart failure. The longer that you take it, the more your energy starts to improve, but it takes time to acclimate. I've been taking it for over 10 years now.
  • Great idea! I'm in. Thursdays are my usual WI, but I'll switch to Friday. Today 167.8 (same as yesterday)...Down 1 lb.
  • I created a pin on Pinterest, for motivation fitness quotes, that I refer to when I'm lacking motivation. A couple of my favorites: "Stop Wishing, Start Doing!" "A year from now, you will wish you had started today" "3 Months from now, you will thank yourself" "Turn intentions into actions"
  • Google 'Alton Brown's brown rice'. I follow that recipe, except I substitute the chicken stock for the water. My whole family loves it!
  • I sit most of the day, for my job. I sometimes sneak in squats in the ladies room! Other times, I get up and take a break, and walk around my building at work. I looked into one of the foot cycles that you put under your desk, but my desk is too short me them.
  • Banana boats. Peel on strip of peel to the end of the banana. Cut out a strip of banana along the peel. Fill with, your choices of chocolate chips, nuts, caramel pieces or anything else that sounds good. put the strip of banana back, and fold the peel over it, and wrap in foil. Put on the edge of the fire (I don't remember…
  • I've felt that way more times than I can count! This time around, I have created a 'fitness inspiration' pin, on Pinterest. I've gone through and pinned quotes that inspire me & before and after photos of women who started close to where I am now. Every time I start to think about slacking off, I try to make myself look…
  • I just started again last week. I'm going to a spin class M-W-F. M-W classes are 55 minutes, and Fri morning class is 45 minutes. I am trying to walk my dog on my off days, have only seemed to manage about 2 walks a week. I just talked my sister into joining the gym with me, so I might start doing more than just the spin…

  • I have exactly 30 lbs to go, so I'm in, although my goal is to lose it by my 44th birthday, which falls on Thanksgiving Day this year. I've joined a gym, and started taking spinning classes 3 days a week. I'm trying to walk my dog on the hills in our neighborhood on my off days, but haven't been as consistent with that…
  • I love Justin's too! I wanted to try Nutella, but couldn't bring myself to buy it once I read the iingredients. Justin's was on the same shelf at my grocery store. I'm sure it's great though!

  • Feel free to add me - I need more friends too! I'm only 15 days in a row, but plan on sticking around!
  • I like sunny side up, poached, over easy &/or scrambled. 1. I crisp up a corn tortilla in the oven, and top it with a little fat free refried beans, green salsa & a sunny side up egg. 2. Sunny side up with sourdough and light whipped butter. 3. Poached, topped on a small potato skin with a little cheese, bacon & onion. 4.…

  • I had to come home to look at the jar, because I couldn't remember the name. I love the Mezzetta sandwich spread. They have a few different varieties, but I have the pepporcini & feta and it's really good. I've spread it on grilled chicken sandwiches, but I want to try it for tuna salad.
