  • IF has worked for me when nothing else did. I am also menopausal. I've been doing it for a year now. My window is 7am to 3pm, but I typically quit eating after lunch, so closer to 1pm, so I'm usually doing 18:6. I love being able to have a nice sized breakfast and lunch. It makes it more sustainable for me. If you want to…
  • I think the best weight loss plan is the one that you can stick to. For me, that is intermittent fasting. I know there is no 'magic' to it, but it does feel magical to me. I don't obsess about food or calories or tracking anymore. I've lost over 30 lbs so far (which I haven't been able to do on any other plan over the last…
  • I've been doing it for about 6 months now, and only drink water during my fasting times. I eat breakfast and lunch, then skip dinner, doing 18:6 usually. I've lost 31 lbs so far. My food cravings are almost gone, and I have a much smaller appetite now.
  • I've been doing IF for about 5 months now. Usually 18/6. I generally eat between 7am to 1pm during the week, and 9am to 3pm during the weekend. It almost feels like turning off a 'switch' now that I'm so used to it.
  • I'll join. I've been doing IF for about 5 months, but haven't been very consistent with meditating. It's nice to have company. Eating window is usually 7am to 1pm on weekdays, and 8am to 3pm on weekends.
  • Fried chicken tenders, a combination of whole grain spaghetti and zuchini noodles with marinara.
  • I also skip dinner, and stop eating by 3pm at the latest every day. I really enjoy being able to eat 2 larger meals, as opposed to 3+ small ones, and find for me that I am no longer feeling deprived, or thinking about food all the time.
  • I'm love IF. Currently doing 18:6, or 16:8 depending on the day. I eat breakfast and lunch, and skip dinner.
  • I like using a bed of baby spinach as a base for saucy proteins (creamed tuna, thai peanut chicken, italian meat sauce, chili, etc). There isn't a lot of taste in spinach. I also like raw veggies with or without ranch or hummus.
  • I am 3 weeks in and love it. It is a much more natural way of eating for me. I am eating breakfast and lunch, and skipping dinner...18:6. Lately, I had just been eating dinner, because it was dinner time, not because I was hungry. I enjoy my breakfast and lunch even more now, and the larger meals that I'm able have when I…
  • I am trying to catch up on reading posts. I know it will motivate me! I have a history of congestive heart failure, and although I’ve been healthy for several years, I ended up back in the hospital a couple of weeks ago with my heart failing again. Long story, but the doctors expect a full recovery again, so I’m taking it…
  • Quick question - have any of you ever replaced eggs with aquafaba in a recipe? I'm thinking about trying it for fruit & oatmeal muffins, but am a little scared! :) btw Carla -Loved your tahini dressing. I wish I wouldn't have halved the recipe! Going to have it on my massaged kale salad today at lunch.
  • Between vacation, Thanksgiving and my birthday, I’ve been a bit off track. My son came home from the Navy to surprise me for my birthday, and we’ve had a great time though! We did an Escape room yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. I’ve discovered that I have to be careful going too far off track, as my tummy doesn’t seem…
  • Thank you for the recipe Carla! Looks great! Donna, I was thinking I should have added some peppers to my hummus as I was eating it yesterday. Next time! I am 4 lbs from my Thanksgiving goal, so I'm not sure it's going to happen, but I'm still pleased with the results I've seen so far. We are going to the Oregon Coast for…
  • Thank you Donna! I saw your results, and wondered how long it took. That’s encouraging to know that 2 months made that big of an improvement, congratulations! I actually attempted an oil free hummus on Friday, but must have added too much liquid, so it accidentally turned into a great salad dressing! I have been allowing…
  • My name is Lisa, and I just joined this group. I was happy to find it. Today marks 4 weeks since I started this diet, and so far I love it. I need to lose weight, but am also trying to avoid taking cholesterol medication. I see the doctor in 4 weeks. There is a lot more food prep than I had originally thought, but I enjoy…
  • I have an air fryer. I love it! We made french fries for my skeptical adult step son. Just sliced up a potato with a little cooking spray, and they are nice & crispy. He bought one the same day. :)
  • Wine & painting parties. I have a storage room filled with really bad paintings that I love. :)
  • Air fried potatoes & eggs.
  • I like to roast the zucchini noodles. I toss them with a little oil, and put in the oven for about 15 minutes. They are great with chicken and alfredo sauce.
  • I want to join. :) SW: 180 CW: 165.7 GW: 145
  • I'm going to add radishes in place of the red potatoes in the crockpot.
  • Stuffed peppers in the crockpot (beef, egg, parmesan cheese, seasonings, a little tomato sauce, parsley, stuffed in a bell pepper & cooked all day). Chicken tender "nachos" Mini pepper nachos Stuffed portabello mushrooms Vegetable soup (when salads get boring!) Kabobs! Just some ideas...good luck!

  • Amazon.com has air popped pork rinds...kind of like air popped pop corn. I love them!

  • I'm in! I'd like to lose 5 more pounds in September. I started back on Atkins 5 days ago, and am already down 5 lbs, but I don't anticipate continuing with that much of a loss! 5 Lbs would put me back in the 150's, which I haven't seen in a long time!
  • My instructor recommended a maxi pad, if you don't want to invest in the shorts! :) The soreness goes away after the first few classes.

  • I just got back from a week long cruise, and didn't gain. I was so happy! I either did active shore excursions (snorkeling/hiking), or exercised on the ship every day, and I never once took the elevator - stairs all the way! I ate what I wanted, but was still very mindful of portions. We drank every evening. It was…
  • Baked rice crackers. I can't remember the brand, but we buy them at Costco. You get quite a few for 130 calories, they are very crunchy and even my picky non dieting husband loves them.
  • All implied by 'spa week'. :) I think some people have read A LOT more into your original post. Many people go to weight loss 'spas' to spend time pampering themselves in a healthy way. Why spend the money when you can do it yourself? Is it a 'long term' weight loss plan? Of course not. Is it a time to take care of…
