Years ago I used to go to the Shoney's breakfast buffet before work. Since I start work about 630, it ain't easy finding someone to go with you anyway. Now even if I wanted to pig out, I find I can't even get my money's worth at any buffet. Old age has broken up that old appetite of mine.

(if it would get that damned stubborn *kitten* partner of mine to say yes, I would. lol) Served as the anatomical model for the most popular line of blow up sex dolls.

One song that I have sung at karaoke to a couple of very special men in my life. Men who have made a huge difference in me becoming who I am now. Being there as friend, confidante, *kitten*-kicker when needed. The song is the the final big song from the musical "Wicked". It's called "For Good". It starts: I've heard it…

Bet my side effect on Celexa beats yours. Believe it or not, it caused me to, in a laboratory definition sense, appear to develop nonA-NonB Hepatitis. As soon as I discontinued, blood work returned to normal Forest Labs was very interested in this adverse reaction.

1. That because I work at the company I do, I must know all 17,000 other employees, spread all across the country. Really? 2. That I'm straight.

Since I believe everyone should and that the human body is nothing to be prudish or ashamed of, absolutely.

True, likes, not loves. TNP believes in the saying: "No Wire Hangars".

That's why I always mix 1 scoop of protein powder in with my oatmeal. 20-25g of protein from the powder. I use a vanilla and it adds a great flavor too. And it does last me hours.

The question is why do it like that? It makes no sense. Do the math. You want to lose 15 pounds in a little over 13 weeks. About 1.15 pounds a week. You need to be at about a 4000 calorie/week deficit or 570 calories/day. Using your stats your provided, the minimum of the websites I checked (IIFYM.com, Scooby's Workshop.…

I was drinking in the car today when my local sports show was talking about this. I almost passed an entire big gulp through my nose from his description. Just call him Stumpy from now on.

Put it this way: I have NEVER seen any CME (continuing medical education) classes offered covering diet, nutrition, exercise or weight loss. EVER. I've seen them for cosmetic surgery procedures docs can offer in their offices to boost their practice income. I've seen them on billing and coding practices. And of course on…

What makes you think they do? How many people here have said "their doctor said do" x, y, z. Versus how many people have said "a registered dietician said i should do " x, y, z. I'm married to a doctor. I was with her throughout medical school and through her medical boards, and recertitifcations which she is going through…

Anybody else having alarm bells going off on that sentence alone? Let's say you do a lot of cardio. 300, 400, 500 calories. And you only eat 1000, 1100 calories. You are going to be netting 600-800 calories? That is what she is recommending? If that is what she is saying, she is clearly out of her league. I'm sorry, but…

Knowing how much is (or to be specific, isn't) taught in medical school and how much is (or isn't) covered in medical specialty board tests. Knowing that any doctor worth their salt will refer a patient for diet question to a registered dietician. Even the speciality that probably needs diet knowledge the most,…

I don't disagree with the advice. Or the thoughts. Unfortunately, it isn't always the case. With what most doctors know about exercise and nutrition, you are more likely to get solid advice from them about your fantasy football team than you are about exercise and nutrition. Sad but true.

And the goal isn't weight loss. It's fat loss. This week is the Mr. Olympia contest. Anybody want to go to Las Vegas and tell those guys that they need to lose weight and stop lifting and only do cardio until they drop down to some doctor's pre-determined ideal weight for them? If your weight did go up, but it was because…

Thanks April -- well it's horrid advice. We're not talking about you squatting hundreds of pounds, bench pressing a Cadillac. But moderate weight training which will help mainintain lean muscle mass, which will burn more calories which will promote weight loss. Absent any medical issues (I had to be careful about what I…

Did your doctor give you a medical reason for this otherwise horrible advice? Because strength training will certainly minimize muscle loss which will support weight loss. Because unles their is a valid medical reason, this is absolutely the worst idea and he has no idea what in the world he is talking about.

I'm on Wellbutrin and I'm down over 50 pounds, so yeah, I'd say I'm pretty successful while on anti-depressants.

THANK YOU. One of the all time greats. Any movie that can carry off a song "Springtime for Hitler" is great. My others: Young Frankenstein Blazing Saddles (yes, I'm a huge Mel Brooks fan) Dodgeball (if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball) Animal House.

I'm a 58 year gay man with 2 artificial hips and an artificial knee and I'm in the best shape of my life. One thing I am thinking about doing in the next year, because I have several friends who do it and it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart, is one of the biggest fuindraisers for the AIDS/HIV community. A 545…

+ a gazillion. The best food for any weight loss plan, for any bulking plan, for any reason whatsoever. It's been a staple for body builders for generations. Oh, and it is also great for your heart as well. It is the complete package.

Welcome koogie. First, I hate the word diet. The word itself almost sets everyone up for failure. Think of it as changing the way you think about food. Diets imply you are going to lose weight, go back to the way you were before, and you'll be back to your old weight in no time. That is the gimmick of the diet industry, a…
