I was so happy to see this post! I am probably one of the few teachers out there that hates having the summer off! I get lazy and bored! This is the first summer I have tried to lose weight, and it's working so far! However, I am looking forward to getting back to the classroom and my normal daily routine. Right now I…

Oh, I know....I get ya. I'm only 4'11 so with my blond curly hair, and when I'm not dressed up, I look like a 12 y/o girl! I think big, loose, cosmo-style curls look serious and seductive. But I agree, it's hard to pull that off when your hair isn't straight. I don't know why that is!

I say us curlies have the best of both worlds! I have a mop of unruly, bouncy, blond curls all over my head. But I love them! They are fun, and wild, and sexy as hell. And, when I want to look serious and seductive, I can straighten it and take in all those compliments and stares! It's much easier to go from super curly to…

Damn. Just when I thought I was making progress! Guess it's back to square 1! ;)

Bump....who doesn't love a good chocolate milkshake!

Wow...all of you girls look fantastic! I started Level 2 today. Did all of you that had great success do it every single day for 30 days? I'm afraid I'm not going to see great results because I skip it on Zumba days....I just can't shake my booty when it's already been beat up by Jillian. ;)

We all bleed (and sweat) BLACK AND GOLD from where I'm from! HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!

I carry around one of those big, heavy plastic cups with a lid and straw. It's a 24 oz cup. I usually add a sclice of lemon or some frozen berries like someone else suggested. This thing is attached to my hip. I take it everywhere and just sip all day long. Before I know it I have to refill....and with lots of ice. I can't…

Yum! Thanks for sharing!

I LOVE ZUMBA!! Bring a towel (you'll sweat like crazy!) and water. Don't be worried about keeping up with the instructor...hardly anyone can, especially beginners. Just do what you can and slow down if you need to. As long as you stay moving, you'll be fine! I hope you love it as much as I do! It's a great workout! Good…

That's awesome! I have just started taking Zumba classes...only one week in (2 classes) but I love it! I just wish my hips moved like my instuctors do! I have zero rhythm but it is tons of fun! Best of luck to you!

You can melt 1/3 C of choc chips with 2 Tbls of peanut butter and dip 1 inch slices of banana in it....stick it in the freezer on a wax papered covered tray. Only 30 cals a piece!

You want your "net" calories to be as close to your calorie goal as possible. The more you exercise, the more you can eat! I'm sure lots of people will tell you to calculate your BMR and always make sure to eat that amount....and that's good advice!
-
I've often thought the same thing! It's a goal to reach.....and falling short isn't what you're supposed to do! I know we are all looking for a calorie deficit but that's already figured in...am I right?

Right now I workout or run in the morning and go to Zumba 2 nights a week. However, I have the summers off (I love being a teacher!) so I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I go back to work. There's no way I'm getting up at 4:30 to exercise before work!

I'm on Day 8 of the Shred and I go to Zumba at a local dance studio 2x a week. I love them both! Feel free to add me if you want some encouragement! PS....My sister is just north of you, in Ft. Collins! I love Colorado!

Bump....Yum!

Bump....sounds delicious!

I checked out your diary for a few days.....are you drinking water and just not recording it? If not, I'd suggest drinking lots and lots of water! Also, you could probably eat a little more. Sounds counter-productive, I know, but a lot of people have found success when they eat all of the calories mfp says too. Do some…

Hi! I'm a quarter inch away from 5 feet! I started at 134 and I'm down to 125...goal was originally 110 but I don't think I can get that low. My problem is I'm "stocky" so I feel like no matter how much I lose I will still feel like a mini-linebacker! I was a gymnast and a diver for many years which helped then, but not so…

Did anyone mention the "drink a shot of apple cidar vinegar daily" diet?

It's quite common to go up a few right after you begin a new workout regime! Your muscles retain water as they repair and that will eventually change! Just keep doing what you are doing and you will see the scale start to move in the right direction! Good for you for making this change and best of luck to you!! And I'm…

It's just frustrating because your site above tells me my BMR is 1307 and calorieline.com tells me it's 1156. Right now I am not working (I'm a teacher...summers off!) so I am not as active as when I am walking around all day and then exercising during the school year. I usually net around 1100 each day. Sometimes more,…

I'm looking forward to seeing the responses. I'm 4'11" and really struggle to eat more. I net a little over 1100 most days and just can't seem to get myself to eat more. I calculated 15% below my TDEE is under 1200 so it seems like I'm doing the right thing for me. I'm losing about a pound a week.....it's all very…
-
I didn't read the entire thread so I apologize if this was already addressed....but what if your TDEE - 10% to 15% is below 1200? Is it ok to eat below 1200 in that case?
-
Maybe take a day off from legs and work arms and abs for a day....
-
I'm curious about this too! My waistis also unusually high. I've heard an inch above your belly button....

Well said. I just had a conversation with my sister about how overwhelming this can all be...BMR, TDEE, to eat back exercise calories or not.....I can find 10 different places where my BMR is calculated 10 different ways. I've come to the conclusion that I'm no longer going to worry about it. I am eating healthier,…
