  • If it makes you feel better, Jillian never intended for it to be done in 30 straight days. In fact, she said in an interview that she was surprised people took it to mean do it in 30 days without a day off! You need to take rest days to let your muscles recover. Keep going....you are not a failure! Good luck!
  • What about American History X? Or THe Help if you want one that is a little on the lighter side!
  • I have a hot air popper and I use it all the time!
  • It can vary greatly with everyone...depending on their weight, the intensity they put into it... I'm 5'0" and 119 and I typically burn 450 - 500 for a one hour class. But my instructor is hard and we do a lot more bouncing/hip hop type of moves. It's a great workout though and tons of fun! I wear a HRM so my burn amount is…
  • If you like oatmeal, google overnight oatmeal recipes. I make 5 of them Sunday night and have breakfast ready to go every morning! It's so easy!
  • I'm so proud of you, my friend! Keep up the great work!!
  • Can't wait to try this!
  • I think it's fine....your net is low for today, so why not? Have a treat!
  • Check out zumba videos on youtube to see what it's like. It's a Latin dance based workout so there is a lot of hip shaking! I do it 2x a week and love it! It's so much fun and a great workout! Not many people can really move the way the instructors do so don't worry about that....we all look a bit silly!
  • At least we all wake up first....be happy about that!
  • I have the PFT4 and I love it. I never even notice I have the chest strap on. I've never tried wearing it outside of my clothes though so I'm not sure about that.... I think it's worth it!
  • LOL.....so happy I'm not the only one who has a closet "system"! And now that I am learning how to cook, the OCD tendencies are making their way into the food pantry. :)
  • Yes, it's ok for one day. Just don't make it a habit! And don't stress if you go over one day when you are feeling better. It'll all even out in the end!
  • A net of zero is dangerous! People's opinions of whether or not to eat back their exercise calories differ. Personally, I eat mine back...or at least half. I am on 1200 cals/day and I try very hard to make sure that I reach 1200 net. Hope this helps!
  • I found some great ones on allrecipies.com!
  • Personally, I eat all or most of mine back. I am also on 1200 a day so if I burn off 500, I eat those 500 back. 1200 should be your final "net" for the day if that's the number mfp gave you. Good luck!
  • You are incorrect in your thought that you must have a negative net to lose weight. A negative net is dangerous. You want your "net calories" AFTER all of your exercise to be at 1200. So, if you are planning to burn 1500, you need to eat at least 2700 calories each day. I am also 4' 11" and function just fine on 1200. But…
  • I'm the same way....when I take my Zumba class at night, I'm often left with a net of like 800. And sometimes, I'm just not that hungry and don't want to force feed myself just for the sake of eating calories. I like to look at it weekly instead of daily because I know there will be days I will go over. It all evens out in…
  • You'll get a lot of different responses here and if you do a search, you'll see others who have asked the same question. It seems to be a hot topic for some reason. Check that out for more answers, too. Personally, I eat mine back. Seems silly to eat what you just worked off, but 1200 is a pretty low amount anyway. A lot…
  • Two things.... 1. It is reasonable to gain weight during your period. I gain up to five pounds and it usually drops way down after. Just continue to do what you are doing....the right things. The weight you/we are gaining is not "fat". It's water. 2. It is not muscle. There is no possible way you can add muscle in a short…
  • Think of it this way...the less ingredients on the box/bag, the better. If you must use something processed (and most of us do at some point, to be honest) just try to find the ones with the least amount of ingredients you can't pronounce. :) And I am on 1200 cals....I eat back almost all of my exercise cals so I "net"…
  • Doesn't look too bad. Def add more veggies...keep in mind fruits have a lot of sugars but they are the good kind. You might want to set it up so you track your sodium as well. A lot of packaged things are high in sodium which can make you retain water.
  • Can you just eat some small, filling, snacks in between meals instead of taking something? If coffee makes you jittery, I imagine most suppressants will as well. My doc tried to prescribe me Adipex and gave me so many warnings with it, I decided it wasn't worth it!
  • Do you have a digital scale? Is it placed near a heating/cooling vent on the floor? Seriously.....this can make your scale a little wacky. :)
  • ^^this. If you are craving pizza, and have the room for it, then eat a slice of pizza. You can't possibly give up pizza for the rest of your life, can you? :) I know I can't! Just be smart about it...don't get it loaded with a ton of meat, blot off the excess grease with a napkin...top it wth veggies if you like...then…
  • I did something similar a few weeks back...turns out I strained the front ligament. I couldn't rotate it in a circle and it hurt to walk on it. My doc said to follow the RICE plan...Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Took about a week and half to completely heal. Hope you heal up quickly!
  • Maybe think of it weekly, as opposed to daily. Going under one one day isn't going to stall your weight loss or put you into "starvation mode". You might end up a little over on another day. Don't stress about it....that's even worse. :) Good luck!
  • Avocados don't last very long....like 2 days max. Use that first! :)
  • A food scale is a must! I bought a $20 one at Bed, Bath, and Beyond....it was the Biggest Loser one. I love it and it has really helped me figure out serving sizes! Good luck!
