Good luck to you! My son and his family live in NC; Burlington. Unfortunately, I'm far from my grandchildren in Texas. You can do this!

Fantastic! I'm hoping I can be down that much in 8 months. You look great!

I started off on 1300 but changed my goals yesterday, so MFP now has me on 1280. I've lost almost 5 lbs in 15 days.

Zevia beats all other sodas hands down in my opinion! No artificial ingredients or sweeteners. (made with stevia). Lots of flavours. At nearly $7 a 6 pack, I limit my intake to 2 6 packs a month or less, though. I don't miss other soft drinks at all. I drink a lot of iced tea with stevia.

Zevia (made with Stevia) no-cal softdrinks instead of regular soft drinks: no artificial sweeteners! Turkey bacon instead of regular

I have a recumbant bike but need to start using it more. I also have 5 lb weights and an elastic band. My Leslie Sansone dvds are gathering dust and I need to get them out and start doing those walks again. I am retired and my spouse and I go to the senior rec center about 4 times a week to use the treadmill, etc. Have you…

Arlington, Texas home of the Texas Rangers and Ugh..Dallas Cowboys. (Yeah, they're no longer in Dallas).

After retirement, that hour is taken off the clock!! Senior Rec center doesn't open till 9 (11 on Friday), so my partner and I don't get to exercise till 10am (11:10 on Friday). That way we can watch THE DOCTORS while working out. Well, except for Fridays, then we go right after the show is over. I need to fit more…

Definitely to look good. At 64, obviously health is #1. After looking at pictures taken this weekend at the Rangers Fanfest, I want to look a whole lot skinnier at next year's event!
-
You look great! This gives me hope! I have at least 50 lbs to lose; 70 would be better.

Didn't do a thing for me!! Like someone said "another Dr. Oz hoax".

27 Jm?

Nope...I weigh first thing in the morning so nothing I can do to "fool" my body! Tuesday is weigh-in day for me and it's also dr appointment (well woman's exam), so hoping I have a good "reading".

Well, good luck to you; you have done well. If you decide to go Paleo, let me know. My daughter Rachel is a nutrition counselor and is always looking for someone to help. She has a great blog called Alter-n-fit. https://alternefit.wordpress.com

Awesome!! I have hypothyroidism too (not known if it's Hashimoto's but my younger sis's is, so probably). It is tough. Have you gone grain-free? My sister says it helps and my daughter (who lives Paleo) says it should help. I have not gotten completely off grains but have cut down considerably.

I was hoping I'd never see that 200 number again as well; but thanks to the holidays I was right back there. After only one week on MFP and 2 days of getting back to the Senior Rec Center, I'm down almost 4 lbs. I'm determined to keep going down and never see that number again! Good luck to you!

Going gluten free does not mean you have to give up on cookies and pastries! I baked all my Christmas cookies this year with either almond flour (totally paleo) for my daughter or with Gluten-free flour (for my stepson's family). My partner and I have have gone almost gluten free and do feel better for it. I read Wheat…

My daughter writes a health and fitness blog http://alternefit.wordpress.com/2013/01/07/what-will-i-do-without-such-an-active-job/. She has just started it up again after a lengthy absence. Check it out!

That is totally awesome! I am so impressed!!

A scrambled egg made with 1/2 pat of butter; 2 slices turkey bacon and 4 oz of Trop 50 oj. Enjoying my cuppa English tea, now (with stevia). 204 calories

It's a lifestyle choice, not a diet.

Maybe a month old; I had just gotten my hair cut.

Amazing! Congrats!

My 37 year old daughter is featured in Paleo Miracle; she has been Paleo for almost 2 years and swears by it. I cook a lot of Paleo recipes but have failed to totally give up grains. I am getting there! Aside from a pizza now and then, my partner and I have given up wheat. I'd really like to do better; I think I'd really…

I want to lose at least 55 lbs. A few years ago I had lost about 30 and gained about 15 back. I'm determined to get it back off and then some!

I'm Charlene aka scrapscot. I'm 64 and recently retired (well February last year). I've been overweight most of my adult life and really want to get back to near where I was 30 years ago. I'm relatively healthy and want to stay that way. I lost weight the last time I "tracked" it, so I'm giving it a shot again! I look…

My daughter is Paleo and is featured in the book "The Paleo Miracle". Rachel looks and feels great. I've tried to go Paleo but have problems sticking with it. I do eat mostly gluten free. I have many paleo recipes and love trying new ones. Some Paleo experts do allow some dairy. Rachel does eat butter and cheese (all grass…

Am down with a cold and not able to exercise today. I usually go to the senior rec center and work out for 45minutes to an hour on treadmill and weight machines. Can't wait to get well and get back to the routine!

Hi Charlene. My name is Charlene as well and I'm 64. It's extremely harder to lose weight after 50. I've just joined myfitnesspal and hope this will get me to my goal. I'm retired and we have a trip to New England this summer and I'd like to be down about 20 or 25 lbs before the trip.
