@Machka9 Cool, another Canuk in Auz! One of my closest friends from Canada has been living outside Melbourne for 20+ years. Are you close to any fires? There are lots of groups raising funds here to support various wildlife groups in Australia. Thanks again for the welcome :)

Hi, I am a new-ish member to My Fitness Pal. I am a 52 year old woman living in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, and am hoping to find other women over 50 to connect with, looking for inspiration, motivation and challenges. I have about 70lbs. to lose, but am taking it 10 lbs/5kg at a time. I am in good health beyond my excess…

How about starting to fill out your profile? Sit down and really think about why you want to do this and put it out there. Might help to prioritize things in your mind for you and also make you a bit more accountable since you've put it out there for everyone to see.

I hear ya sister! I'm 5'6" and 47, and I've only lost 3.8 lbs in the last month, it was 4 but I'm up .2 this week. I was hoping that it would have been more, but for some reason it's not. However, I do realize that at a minimum, if I don't keep this up, I'll be putting a lot more on than at least staying where I am. I'm…

They are pure evil designed by plastic people who have super human hand/eye/foot coordination that real people don't have! Having said that they actually a lot worse to watch than they are to try...

I noticed the same thing when I was in France, so I think there is something to the concept! I also found it a great stress reliever to have lunch as the largest meal...that way the evenings were much more relaxed and easy going.

Finishing week 4 of phase 1, will go into phase 2 on Monday. Haven't been losing much but am noticing some muscle under the jiggle, so if nothing else muscle is building, or at least strengthening. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm not losing. I use the Body Media Fit band as well, and just readjusted my goals, so I'm…

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought...I burned an abnormally high amount of calories for a couple of days, but then seem to have adjusted to what I've been experiencing for a month or so. Thanks again! PS, what's TDEE?

I have a similar question; can your body burn more calories on days you're not exercising, but going through a physical anomaly, ie if your sick or for girls, that time of the month? The reason I ask is that theoretically it make sense in my head, if your body is working harder to fight an infection, heal an injury, etc,…

I'm doing Jillian MIchael's Body Revolution, and entered week 3 of Phase I. The fact that I can type this means I'm not dead, despite how my body feels :ohwell:

I've had mine since the beginning of August, using the CORE, and absolutely loved it. I burn way more calories in a day than I ever expected, so it's really helped me and I'm already down 4 lbs. Feel free to add me as well!

Hi my name is Chris and I am a busy working mom to an 18 year old son. I live in Canada and am finally trying to permanently lose the baby weight! I can be a little slow at times :). I'm 5' 6" and have a pear shape; and am 46 year old female. I love the show and love the idea of breaking it out into phases. Here is my goal…

They were giving some away as samples on her stop in my hometown, and I tried it, and it's definitely a better alternative to other water additives with NutraSweet in them. It's a bit fizzy so if you add it to your water bottle be careful if you shake it as it could overflow, as I found out! As for energy boost? It's hard…

I did it for three years, both the core and P+ plus program. I lost the majority of my weight on the core program; when all fruits and veggies became free weight loss slowed. What I don't like is that there is very little individualisation in the program. It tries to be a one-size fits all, and the leaders are trained in…

I'm just hitting the end of phase 1 weeks 1 & 2 - third kick at the can. Am putting a lot more emphasis on my form, and with heavier weights. So far I haven't given in, but I'm not doing the cardio. It's a bit boring; running on the treadmill or going for a bike ride is just as challenging and way more enjoyable for me.

I couldn't have said this better myself! You can work on improving you, but you can't fix stupid. Find a gym that embraces their members and creates an environment that focuses on improving you in an nurturing way. Even Olympics athletes continue to work and improve themselves. That's why it's called training and not…

I started phase one last Monday, am going into week 2 of the first workout set...third kick at the can. Have made it up to week 7 in the past and then life got in the way. Am determined to complete the whole 12 weeks this time if it kills me!!!! :)

OMG !!! Thanks for this!:flowerforyou:

Hi - Strength training for sure is where I would start; sounds like that's where you would probably benefit the most. Don't know how much time you have or your current fitness level, but if you're hauling little kids around you probably have more strength than you realize. Jillian Michael's 30 day shred is a great video to…

Hi Lois - I've been there myself where I lost a bunch of weight and then sat playing with the same three pounds for over a year. For me it took adding strength training to my routine as I was primarily using a treadmill. But like you say, you want something sustainable. That wasn't for me and as a result I'm trying to lose…

If you can do a plié then do a plié then as you go up raise your hands up like a jumping jack. Then swing them down as you go into the plié. This can mimic the jumping jacks without the impact. If you're not familiar with a plié, they're easy. Spread your legs hip width apart with your toes facing outward. Go down as far…
