33, mum of 3 (15, 13 and 7!) in the UK. Wanting to get back in shape for my 34th in Sept. Feeling my age and quite sad about it, have been for years but this is the first time Ive stuck to getting my mojo back and its working! Im nearly a stone down and that leaves 19lbs to go, though another 14 would be fine. I work full…

Same. 12 pounds down (total to lose from start is 2.5 stone), cant see the difference in the mirror. It is reflected in my clothes I suppose but nowhere near as good as I thought. I genuinely think another stone and I might see something! My other half has commented but no one else has noticed... well depressed, and been…

I want to lose 24 in 24 so this would be a GREAT starter. But I guess its dependent on how much you have to lose. 24 is my ultimate goal and I am 150 now @ 5ft 3.... so I think it will be hard!!
-
I eat and I workout so I can eat AND drink wine! I am 33, 5ft 3, SW - 162 CW - 150 GW - 126 so, a fair way to go, just worked out that there are 24 weeks until my 34th bday and 24 pounds to lose. Think thats a bit ambitious but we shall see. Exercise wise I work out: Mon - body pump Tues - CXworx, body balance and either a…

Im around that mark, I started at 162, now 150 and want to lose another 24 to be 126 (9stone!) No idea how Ill ever get there, seems a lifetime away but if I could do it bby my 34th (September) I would be very happy indeed. Just realised that is only 24 weeks away so realistically gonna be hard! Perhaps by christmas. Feel…

Mine doesnt really know Im dieting. He knows Im watching what I eat and exercising a lot but not really for losing weight purposes. He has noticed and commented that Ive lost weight but not actually complimented me about it. I still want to lose 20 pounds so lets see what he thinks then.

Sorry, I'm 5 3, 153 and looking to drop around 20
-
I have stuck to tdee - 20% for the past few weeks and I don't eat back exercise calories which means i should be on around 1700 a day. I am happier, more motivated, clothes fit better ( I do exercise a fair bit) and I think it's working. Certainly better than eating the 1300 mfp put me at and the wrought is slowly but…

thanks guys! have accepted those who added! I try to overestimate everything I eat - and underestimate on exercise - I have a HRM to keep me vaguely on track but I still log less cals than I do. Anyway, I know overall 9lbs in the time Ive been on it is good, Im just looking forward to the next drop on the scales :) Good…

This is inspiring, especially today as Im feeling poo about it all. Im stuck on the same 9lbs I lost in first few weeks of Jan. I had lost inches at beginning of this month so I am hoping at the end of the month there will be even more inches off, even if the scales stay the same!!!

That's all I was saying. I'm terrified of being virtually lynched on here like some people are. Not my bag baby.
-
Well I did not know that. For what its worth, is looking to be spot on with my calculations, oh well thanks for that!
-
I started this yesterday after a few weeks of plateau and even increasing. I am 5ft 3, 155lbs, and looking to shift 25 more. The amount of cals I should have is something around 1700 according to BMR and TDEE so that is what Im aiming for, without eating exercise cals back however yesterday I only managed 1400 and today I…

thai curries!! Ive never used it for anything else!

I try and be in bed by 10 and I get up at 6.45. I probably dont sleep until nearer 11, so that is 7 3/4. I am better if I get to sleep earlier, the above is how much I had last nigh (nearer 8 I think) and I am exhausted.
-
ok I cant see pics, but I started at 162 and am down to 155, so this is totally what I want to hear - that by hopefully 150 pounds people will notice!!! I am exercising a lot and have also stopped drinking and smoking as much (I did both on saturday night). Well done, sounds like you look fab!!
-
ok I get the point and sense in this, so just ignore that it puts me over on MFP each day? Is there a way of seeing weekly how youve done, because when I do my mega workouts, I have loads of cals to spare, I wonder how it all evens out.
-
no I was using the moderately active and the lightly active (1-3 times a week) and basing my final figure on the lightly active number. Mon - body pump/combat (2hrs) Tues - CX, swim, balance (2.5 hrs) Weds - rest Thurs - cx, pump (1.5 hrs) Fri - rest Sat/sun - bit of gym work/swim
-
BMR 1474, moderately active so x 1.4 = 2063 - 20% = 1719.... any way I do these calculations, I come out around 1700 mark. I want to lose around 25 pounds....
-
Oh wait, did it on fitfrog (??) And it gives me a TDEE - 20% (even underestimating exercise) of 1677 cals a day!!!! Is this right?? Hell, hell hell hell. So its no wonder Im not losing then. Man that seems crazy.
-
I do keep reading that ^^ over and over.... I know I need to work out my TDEE (I have done in the past), but Im at work so that will have to wait til I get home as I need to do measurements I dont have on me (neck??)
-
Feel free to look at mine. I'm terrible at logging at weekends (completely ignore yesterday, hangover!) But I sick to under goal cals. I exercise quite a lot, purely so I can eat more.
-
I lost 8 pounds in the first 10 days of Jan. And now 4 weeks in, I have still only lost 8 pounds. I would so rather have lost 2 each week, I am feeling very demotivated now. But I will persevere!
-
thanks.... those of you who didnt mention calorie burn - do they do that?!?!
-
Oh I know too well.... I just lost my mojo a few years ago. It is BACK.

THIS IS (WAS ACTUALLY!) ME. So, so so so unbelievably true. Giving up alcohol in the week has got to have been the best thing Ive done. Not just due to the calories I am saving, but more because of the reasons above. I have even started turning down social situations on week nights, ie a meal out, because a) I dont want to…

thats very handy your hubby doesnt drink, mine does and hasnt stopped since I dont. But I just think, Im a healthier me - he works out tons and obviously weight stays off him FINE (GRRRR) but for me, a wine belly is something I dont want anymore! It was obvious in the first 2 weeks as I lost around 8-9 pounds straight off…
-
Also - work out in the evenings. On at least 2 nights a week I dont get home from the gym until after 9pm. By this point, I want a quick bite to eat, a shower and bed - alcohol doesnt even cross my mind. Even when I get in earlier, a few chores done, Im so tired I just want to go to bed! I honestly, honestly never ever…

I used to drink a glass to a bottle a night 5 x a week. Now I dont. I have wanted to lose weight for SO long, I realised that the calories being added from that had to go. It wasnt until I was serious enough about losing weight that I could cut it out. I occasionally drink it at the weekend (had plenty on sat night just…
