  • I weigh everything (even butter) because I learned a very valuable lesson. The vegan butter I used said 1 tbsp was a serving and it was xx amount of grams (don’t remember) when I weighed it versus using the tablespoon, the amount of grams was slightly more than 1/2 a tablespoon (and the weight is was they calculate…
  • Starving means you are in too much of a deficit.

  • Yes. I’ve been on Monjaro since March. I started getting compound 4 months ago so I could break up my doses. Much less side effects since I started doing that.
  • Several factors. The calculation is strictly based on calories in vs calories out. Unfortunately that’s flawed science as every body has variables that complicate that. First question would be: are you weighing your food as you log. Packages are often very misleading about a serving. Example: it may say a serving is 1/2…
  • Yes they are a fat and a protein macro
  • Yes! I’ve not slept normal in years. Find someone who will give you adequate hormonal support. More and more doctors are finally realizing that we don’t have to be stuck in menopause hell.
  • Have you looked into the anti inflammatory diet? Preservatives and dyes wreak havoc on our inflammation. My crp used to be over 30 (measures inflammation). I went raw vegan and it dropped to 0.065 in 6 months. While raw vegan is extreme, I looked at what was cut out during that time and it was mostly dairy and grains. I…
  • I weigh in grams every morsel that goes in my mouth and log it so there is zero guesswork on what my intake is. I weigh everything because I learned that measuring isn’t accurate. My vegan butter was a great example. It said a serving was 1 tablespoon or 32 grams (I don’t remember the exact number of grams just using that…
  • Those calculations are based on calories in calories out math. Science is now proving that is an inaccurate measurement of weight loss success. So many people can eat in a deficit, doing all the things, and struggle to lose. There are so many more factors to weight loss than CICO.
  • I've been on it for 3 months now. The fatigue is STILL kicking my butt. I went off of it for a week and I'm titrating back up, trying to see at what point it suppresses my appetite without making me a zombie. I'm also playing with dosage times. Mornings are a NO GO... I'm a zombie by the afternoon. Bedtime didn't seem to…

  • I’m 52 on this journey. I’m down 54 pounds since sept and still have 100 to go. I’ve been using an online nutrition coach and one of the things they make us do is weigh daily. While I hated it initially, it’s been super beneficial to see the weight ebbs and flows each week. Now when the scale goes up I don’t give it a…
  • I’m going to be honest, I never had much success with the auto populated macros in mfp. I started with an online nutrition coaching program last Sept and my coach assigns my macros and adjusts as needed. I’m eating about 350 calories more a day and MFP ever gave me and I’m down 54 pounds since sept. I firmly believe in the…
  • Chicken breast and egg whites are good protein sources.
  • I count my macros by grams. Fat is my lowest at 65g per day. Protein and carbs are at 130g each. Keep in mind every fat gram is more than double the calories of a protein or carb. So while you can eat more fat in a healthy way, to stay in a caloric deficit, you are going to be consuming way less food.
  • I count macros. I’m enrolled in a nutrition coaching program and my coach assigns my macros. I then weigh every morsel that goes in my mouth and stay within my macros. I’m down 54 pounds since sept.
  • Weighing is CRITCAL. I started a nutrition program last Sept after years of using MFP. They require you to weigh everything (not even using measuring cup...literally weighing everything all the way down to butter by ounces or grams) just by doing that, you quickly realize how far off your Eyeballing is. I’m down 54 pounds…
  • Feel free to add me. I log and weigh every day (coaches orders)
  • I just found this community and this thread. I thought I would introduce myself. I’m Karen, I’m 52, mom to a 15 year old hockey player and wife to a great dude. I started my weight loss journey at 323 in Sept and am down 54 pounds with the help of a great nutritionist/coach. Looking to find a supportive place with others…
  • Me too. It captures one sync in the am, the nothing from then on.
  • I'm 49 (will be 50 in September). Coming off of major shoulder reconstruction and just now getting back in the saddle. I've gained 50 pounds in the last year (in addition to the 50 I needed to lose) so I've got a long battle ahead, but I'm ready to start down the road again! Would love more MFP friends in my age…
  • you can add me. I'm just putting mine back on for the first time in MONTHS. I had shoulder reconstruction, so I haven't been moving a whole lot. ncgoaliemom30@gmail.com
  • No. But going vegan REALLY helps me with my weightloss. Strangely, I can eat considerably more calories from raw/vegan foods and still lose weight than I can when I have animal products in my diet. I like to eat.... so I've gone back to vegan. I can eat all day long and still lose weight (albeit.... I suppose if I ate…
  • Can I join? I'll be 50 in September... close counts, right??? :O)
  • Another vegan to add to the bunch :) Would love more vegetarian/vegan friends here.
  • Just got mine yesterday! https://www.fitbit.com/user/3PW9QW
  • You can add me ncgoaliemom30@gmail.com
  • I'm only a year away from 50... do I count? (I'll be 49 next week)
  • My version of clean is that it doesn't come in a package. I only eat natural foods... raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds. I take it a step further and only eat raw items. Nothing cooked. Only vegan, raw foods. I realize this is extreme for most of the world, but it has done amazing things to cure my body of disease…
  • I haven't read the 90 some responses, so I apologize if I'm repeating anyone. But... can you get counseling through your church or through a therapist? I think it's really needed. What I found is that 9 times out of 10, what they say is the issue, isn't the issue. There is something deeper there. And I'm sorry, but he's…
  • I think we've all been down that road at least once (I feel like I'm on a nascar track... I just keep circling that road LOL) Plenty of support here!
