Hi I started MFP on Jan 7 and have lost almost 35 lbs w/o exercise. I wish I felt like exercising but it is possible. No book needed, I just followed recommendations here.

My husb is supportive but does fry foods and I eat or dont. As long as he doesnt bring cookies and cakes in the houde were ok.

You are doing a great job. Yes eat at least your goal calories every day and exercise calories. 6 lbs per month is crazy optimistic. Good luck.

I gained 6 lbs overnight, 1lb fluctuates everyday. Take it easy on yourself.

Sounds like we are on similar paths; I started at 219 on 1/7/2013 and have about 15 lbs to go by the end of the year to reach 50 lbs.
