I am 43. I started on 1/7 at 219 lbs and have lost 31 (okay today it says 29 but hey it fluctuates). I log in every day but don't post long motivational conversations but feel free to add me. There is also a new posting looking for friends in their 40s. I would suggest checking in there too.

I have no idea what that is; other than the obvious and I'm from the south ;)

I turned 43 this past Jan. My husband, age 47, and I have been together 20 years come Sept (married 17). We have a 10 yr old son involving in scouting and a dog, Bud. I've been on mfp since Jan and have seen a 31 lb loss (a little fluctuation this week but you know how that goes).

I love Five Guys but grabbed a small burger at Wendy's the other week and decided it really didn't taste as good as it used to. My husband grilled burgers this week and they were super good. I baked some fries after we argued that I wouldn't eat the ones he was frying. The oven was gonna be heated for mine anyhow but he…

Ignore the 1-2 non-supportive posts and see how many people jumped right in and really wanted to offer their support and advice. All you can do each day is your best. It may be stalled or slower then you would like but just keep trying...we're here.

Hi Queenie, I too have found that having carbs left over is better for me than worrying about going over my calories by 100-200. Good luck!

It means your security settings are such that others can see your food diary. That way we can give constructive advice based on what you are actually eating / logging. Good luck!

LOL - great job!

You can search this topic and read more than you ever wanted to know about this question. It's asked, debated and argued all the time.

LOL - salty foods. I had a problem last month but bounced back. It's only a few days. I say if you are craving something, have a little of it.

WOW! Awesome progress!

It's fantastic that you are looking at this now as your child begins his own eating habits; you'll be able to be a great role model. Before you jump in too far I would learn more about processed foods and which good foods you can eat with lower calories so you don't eat high calorie foods and have limited choices for later…

Yep I have to remember, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all as I delete multiple responses.

You look amazing!

Schmidt - Old Tyme 100% Whole Grain Whitewheat; 70 calories and 3 grams of fiber. I purchase from Costco; 2 loaves for cost of 1 at grocery store.

We have breakfast burritos. You can get high fiber whole grains burritos for 70-100 calories each. Use the scrambled sausage if you like, eggs, 2% cheese, pica de gallo. It's good and will hold you over. Spaghetti is of course easy for camping if you brown your meat at home. I use DreamFields pasta. Fish, fish and more…

While you haven't lost weight have you lost inches? Does your body look more toned?
-
Congratulations!!! 50 lbs is my initial goal too. I'm hoping to hit it by the end of this year / early next.

During the week I eat English muffin with pb, normally. On weekend I eat breakfast burrito, or eggs/bacon or left over from supper the night before.
-
PB may be fattening but has lots of protein which will give you energy. Remember not all fat / calories are created equal.

Fantastic job and you can tell you are exercising b/c your body definitely looks different than mine even when we were similar in lbs. Congrats and continued good luck!

Do you have any eggs? You could do an omelet with the ham, cheese & peppers. Any peanut butter? Just do the best you can with what you have until you can do differently. Any positive step is a start - such as drinking that water ;)

Congratulations on all :)

Hi Morgan, I started MFP on Jan 7th and have lost 28 lbs. I notice my drops in weight are all over the place especially right before or after my period. Sometimes 3-4 lbs increase/decreases around that time so don't get discouraged. I also noticed, for me, that I did better once I began reducing the amount of processed…

And beautiful no matter the size. Love your hair and smile.

Earlier this month I had a 4 lb increase in one night and 1 lb the next. I checked my sodium levels for the week and they were high. As I watched my sodium and increased my water intake, the lbs came back off.

We were just discussing homemade rollups yesterday. My son has eaten the healthier version this past week and I'm wondering how much work to make our own. I'll check it out this weekend. Thanks for sharing the link.

My husband went fishing in gulf off of Florida last month. We have lots of amber jack and other thick fish. Tonight he backed with tomatoes, capers and potatoes. I want something with spinach. Any suggestions? Thanks!
