I ride a 2009 Deluxe. I bought it as a 50th birthday present for myself! My hubby rides a Heritage.

Wow...suddenly I don't feel alone. Yes, I binge eat. For me, it HAS to be something sweet. Lots of it. Lots and lots of it. I ALWAYS do it alone. I ALWAYS hide any evidence. My hubby has no idea. Sometimes, I liken myself to an alcoholic. Only for me, it's sugary sweet things rather than alcohol. I binged once since I've…

Hi! Yes, it's possible. I was 25 pounds overweight when I trained for and completed my first full marathon. Some months later, as I was staring age 50 in the eye, I decided I wanted to get rid of those 25 pounds. AND run another marathon when I was 50. I was able to lose 25 pounds while training for that marathon. For the…

Thanks for your responses! At this time, I'm not training for any races, so working on speed or endurance isn't a priority right now. (I've run several marathons, many half marathons, and dozens of 5ks and 10ks.) However, I do want to continue to log mileage running so I don't have to start from scratch if/when I do train…

Thanks for your reply! Yeah...that's what I've been doing. But I wasn't sure if there was a good reason to do it the other way around??

I have one of each. I've been a runner for years, but needed some way to do cardio on my non-running days, so we bought an elliptical. (Sole) Worked great! Then I bought a treadmill (Precor) so I didn't have to do all of my winter running outside in the dark after work. I love it, too! I guess it depends on what you want…

This ^^^^ is absolutely correct! As is the person who posted that no matter how slow you are going, you're still lapping the person sitting on the couch.

Hi...I'm 53 and I finished day 7 of level 1 this morning. I've been a runner for many years, so I always hop on the treadmill for a run for 30 minutes, then I start the Shred DVD. I like doing the extra cardio each day. Even though I'm only on day 7, I am seeing results even though I gained 3 pounds the first week. I'll…

Way to go! Great NSV. Today was day 7 of level 1 for me...my NSV was my baggy dress slacks that I am wearing to work today. They were tight a couple of weeks ago.

Boneless pork chops are on the menu for tonight for me!

Good morning, I'm 53 and I just I finished level 1 day 7 this morning. I was able to handle all of the advance moves. I use 5 pound weights except for the side lunges, lighter for those. I started at a pretty solid level of fitness...I've been a runner for years, and have done a zillion squats over the past couple of…

This is from an old lady's perspective...I want people to say "You're *53*??? No way!"
-
You should be proud!! Way to go!

Wow...thanks for sharing! I sooo needed to hear a story like this today! You look fabulous!

This is amazing. It was no accident that you were on a treadmill next to him. God put you two next to each other for a reason.

I understand. My hubby has a type of cancer. MANY studies indicate that just 30 minutes of cardio a day will significantly slow the growth of that cancer. During a good week, he works out 3 days. Most weeks it's just once. I used to work out in the evening so we could work out together...but he'd say he didn't want to…

Yay!!!!! I totally understand! I'm well acquainted with those 90 calorie bars and their cousins, the Fiber One Chewy protein bars. I want to get to the point where I don't feel the need for one. So, I heartily applaud your success!!!
-
Way to go!!! That's very inspiring! I'm on day 3 of level one. Keep it up!!

A couple of things I find helpful: --Do something in the evenings that make it hard to snack. I crochet. Not well, mind you, but it keeps me from snacking because my hands are occupied. --Brush and floss your teeth rather than eating something sweet. That discourages me from eating or drinking anything at all after dinner.…

Wow. Prayers flowing to Kate.
