Okay I needed to consult a size conversion chart first. LOL Based on this... http://www.sizeguide.net/womens-clothing-sizes-international-conversion-chart.html I'm currently a UK14 / US10 but things are getting very loose but I'm not quite comfortably in a UK12 / US8 just yet, but I think by June I will be.

Wiltshire here. Am 45. Originally had 3 stone to lose and am half-way there. Gained weight from 2013 after my mum's death and my father's death 18 months later. After last Christmas I started getting more active again. Longer dog walks at first, now adding other stuff like strength training, cycling, swimming, spin…

We found a pair of these once.... I thought they were quite apt for my swamp monster... :|

PMSL @ "nut juice"!!! Excellent!!! FWIW I like the taste of milk and have no physical problems with tolerating / metabolising dairy. I have some in my porridge (oatmeal?), some in coffee and a glass of 250ml in the evening (just one of my little habits). We usually buy semi-skimmed, but I like full-fat/wholemilk too, but…

Here he is posing his harness for you!

It is!! We have one for our collie as well. Love them. Great quality. :)

and the other one... just to be fair... *sighs*

This is more like it....

Hahaha your picture reminds me of our little one on one of my bikes. It was only a posed photo, he'd never stay in it during a ride, or lets say I'd never take the risk, certainly not in traffic. He was happy to pose but refers hiking for exercise. ;)

Because we have dogs I walk 2-3 miles every weekday and 4-6 miles on weekend days. I do other stuff as well during the week, so my deficit is made up of a combination of food, other exercise (strength training, HIIT etc) and walking, but the walking is kind of my "staple", the one thing I never bail out of if I'm tired or…

Nice thread. Gender: Female (45 - SW England) Height: 5'6'' Starting Weight: 178lbs Current weight: 157lbs Intermediate Goal: 140lb Long Term Goal: 128lbs Exercise: Ex-triathlete coming out of a 3-year hibernation... now doing anything and everything, strength training, cycling, spin classes, running (just…

Oh totally. Same observation at my gym. Those consuming the stuff are most often those where IMHO the exercise doesn't really call for it.

My OH is a fell runner... He'll be up some mountain in shorts in winter. I think you're both nuts. ;) :p

Perhaps it makes some folk feel like they're more "serious". LOL
-
I agree with that and I think it's probably true for 90% of people. I think it's a bit bizarre to see people think they "need" to go to the vending machine for a protein shake or bar because they've just done a bit of Zumba or pilates.... :/

Seriously??????????? :# *shivers*

I'm a big fan of open water swimming, but being that I'm in the UK and the air temperature today was between 4-7C, there no way anyone would get me into a lake or the sea in these temperatures... Not even in a full length neoprene wettie.
-
Brrrr.... where are you? :o
-
A bit of this, a bit of that... Les Mills RPM (spin), strength training (full body at the moment as just getting back to it), running (outdoors), cycling (outdoors, both MTB and road), badminton or squash with my OH, C2 rowing, swimming... oh yes and walking the dogs (a rough total of around 30 miles a week).

In that case your children are clearly the exception to the rule. I see plenty of children in small groups on their way to school in the morning, spending whatever dinner (or breakfast???) money they were given buying crisps, pop or even stuff like Red Bull on their way to school. Of course at that stage there is zero…

Projection... so easily spotted in others, yet so rarely in oneself.

I agree with what you're saying but as far as I can see the OP wasn't talking about adequately fuelling hours of endurance cardio? Most people are talking about whether to eat back what they earned by being on an elliptical for 20 mins, so I think the fuelling requirements are a bit different.

Okay I had to google Jen Selter as I had no idea who she was or what she did... I still don't really, but I came aross various images of her such as this... I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but to me this is not an attractive physique, more like a physical caricature of Jessica Rabbit? :s

Whatever it is don't let it be new. :|

I do 16/8 and really if you think about it, it's simply a smaller daily eating window to the standard 12/12 that others have, but while it means I delay breakfast to 11am and don't snack after 7pm, ultimately I get plenty of calories to enable me to train. Or were you referring to throwing in a couple of "proper" fast days…

I peel it and weigh it and that's what I log.
