Seems pretty clear to me that The OP is projecting her own issues into her boyfriend and trying to change him rather than confronting in her therapy what has resulted in her responses to weight. OP: This is not his battle, it's yours. He sounds like a supportive man who even attends your therapy when you request him to.…

OMG it's like a nursery. "You started it!" etc............. :(

Ah yes, I get you now. That's something that irks me too. No message with the friend request and nothing filled in, so how am I supposed to know if I want to be friends with you. LOL

I think it would help the discussion if the OP could at least confirm whether she wants to cut refined carbs and added sugars, or, as she first posted "cutting carbs and sugar completely", which I would interpret as all carbohydrates and any naturally occurring as well as added sugars.

I put all my 'goals' stuff into "why you want to get in shape". I guess I interpret the word "inspiration" differently. For me some new cycling jacket, that might be a motivating factor but I wouldn't call it an inspiration. Doing a century ride would be a goal, rather than an inspiration... but yeah... whatever...

I like that.

Yes I guess it's interesting to know people's backgrounds as it can sometimes help to view their posts in a better context, but I respect people's desire for privacy. I filled in a bit of it but not the bit about "my inspirations" because quite frankly I don't have any. I'm not looking to be like anyone else.

So... no vegetables? No fruit? Sounds sensible... NOT.

TOTM pending?

I think it'll depend where you're at in your weight loss and how much you have to lose. If you're 300lb, if you generally eat at a deficit, a potato more or less or another carrot or a bit more broccoli won't make a difference, you'll still lose weight. When you're 130 wanting to drop to 120, then you have much less wiggle…

LOL!!!! Yes, my friend who has been doing Slimming World unsuccessfully for years keeps harping on about "free foods" versus things like cookies. I guess some people just don't twig that 2 carrots have the same calories as a cookie.

Wait gain in any situation comes from overeating rather than under-exercising, which is why we're always told that you can't out-train a bad diet. Exercising during pregnancy with one child also depends on your base fitness level. For example, a lady in my spin class, who was neither over weight nor unfit before she became…

What matters is calories in and calories out, so you should take notice of calories, as otherwise how would you know if you are actually creating a deficit? Whether 1600 is okay for you to lose weight depends on things like height, activity level etc. Try this and see what it gives you.…

If you have the space at home to have a mini gym, keep an eye on ebay. It's amazing how many people get rid of whole sets of good weights for very little money.

Are you sure they're not 2kg, 5kg and 8kg dumbells? I didn't realise they even made dumbells as light as 2lb???

:D :+1:

2 stone = 28lb in 2 months. What are you moaning about???

I do both, probably to a ratio of about 30% lifting to 70% cardio. For vanity factors, I like the physique that strength training brings. I also to strength train because I'm hypermobile and it helps me enormously to keep that in check. But I also run and cycle. I used to do triathlons and my RHR was in my mid 40s. Then I…

It could be all sorts. Wrong shoes. Poor gait. Muscle imbalances. Overweight & overuse.

I haven't cut out anything but I changed or reduced certain foods. Bread... I've been baking my own for a while now. That way I know what goes in it. We've never really eaten white bread so it's usually a multi-grain, or rye bread. I've switched from white pasta to whole wheat and from white to brown rice, and generally…

I can easily eat 200-300 calories of veg in a day. By not logging that it would be easy to blow 50% of my daily deficit. PS. A carrot isn't a green veg.

You're not building muscle from a couple of miles running or twenty minutes stationery bike. It's possible it's water weight.... It's also possible that you really need to tighten up on your food logging as the exercising might have made you hungrier and you're actually eating more than you think?

That.

Who knows...

Sounds like you could do with a wider toebox. Alternatively Bodyglide is awesome. I have some twin-skin running socks which are great for avoiding blisters. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/hilly-twin-skin-socklet-1/
