There is a proper mentoring thread on the forum somewhere. I'll try find it for you.

And sometimes we sit and watch them...

We did 4.5 miles around rural Wiltshire today. Lots of little lambs out bleating.

Welcome to MFP. After a decade of yoyoing, what are you going to do different this way round?
-
LOL!!!!!!
-
Wonderful. You should be really proud of yourself. I lost both my parents to smoking related disease (mum had COPD, dad had lung cancer). I remember being a child and so dearly wishing they'd look after themselves better. You've got this !!!! Really well done!! And welcome to MFP. x

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! Maybe it all happens at night when you're asleep? :D

4.5 miles for us today. :-)

@shor0814 yes LOL she does love a bit of mud. She is in there before you get a chance to shout "Nooooo......"

What is "appropriate for a male" depends entirely on your height. Why don't you use the widely available TDEE calculators and work out your deficit that way?
-
Some people would disagree with that. If you're strength training while eating at a deficit and getting a decent amount of protein in your diet, at least you would maintain whatever lean mass you already have, rather than losing it alongside any fat you lose, which is what will happen otherwise.
-
Strength... endurance... flexibility... agility... balance... coordination... power... speed... It's just an awesomely powerful feeling that can make you feel like you can achieve anything as long as you're willing to put the effort in.

When I travelled in the US I was astonished at the portion sizes. I could never finish anything. Believe me I love my food but just the sheer size of burgers or steaks was just phenomenal, then the vast amount of fries you get, these buckets of cola which you can refill for free if you want a few litres more... :#
-
Many a lifter here will disagree with you on that.... ;) ;)
-
Do you have access to a Pilates class near you?
-
Great reminder!!!! I used to do that in my lunch breaks when I worked near a dog rescue. <3

@ageage22 - Buddy looks very smart with his little dickiebow. :D

Kara says "You show me yours, I show you mine!"

All that passive aggressiveness... :|

Firstly congrats that the scale moved again for you. Just thought I share my experience, since we're the same height, doing similar exercise etc. I started at 178... my goal weight is 130ish. I dropped the first 20lb no problem at all. After the initial water loss it was relatively linear loss, drip-drop-drip-drop a little…

Most of the people "in your sich" here posted 4 years ago, but I'm sure some new ones will be along soon.
-
To adapt a plan after having gleaned more information about a situation isn't cheating, it's intelligent decision making.
-
Do you consume a lot of salt? My biggest fluctuation ever was 6lb but that's before TOTM which you shouldn't have any issues with. ;)

My current bathing suit is a size UK14 / US10. All my current clothes are getting pretty baggy but I'm not comfortably fitting into the next size down just yet, but by June I should happily be in a UK12 / US 8. I'm getting married in October and I'm hoping to be back to my old size by then, UK10 / US 6.

Zombie thread! 2013. Well done.
