• Good question!! So, you are saying the 2nd picture is easier on the back? That's why I bought a belt today, it was a little uncomfortable on my lower back and I don't want to injure it...I have a history of back problems but haven't had any issues for quite a while.
• Good to know. I'm so used to working my butt off, being winded, and my shirt all sweaty so this is just an adjustment. A good one though!
• You all are too kind but thank you!
• I did have dh take my before pictures today with me in a swimsuit. Maybe I will post those once I can post some after shots with them. I gave no muscle definition in my flexed pics. :frown: In the meantime, here's my first MFP body shot, also taken today...if I can do this from my phone... Mod edit: Picture removed as…
• Thanks! I see have some work to do before I will post swimsuit pictures though.
• You think it's worth keeping around? I have room for it. I bought the pilates attachment, which came with a dvd, and I think an ab attachment, and have never tried either of them. The pilates dvd still has the plastic wrap on it.
• Lucky you!! I'm jealous! My husband called it "overkill" and said if I use this one and ever get to the point where it's not good enough anymore he would buy me a better one. I think he's still bitter over the Total Gym I just had to have but has been sitting unused for the past couple of years. It still looks brand new…
• You are both much smaller than me. Sorry, I should phrase that as "leaner". I still need to lose at least another 15 lbs., maybe more.
• I can't even lift 125! :embarassed:
• Yep, about this time next year. I even asked my son if he thought he could ever squat over 700 lb (the limit) and he just laughed.
• My husband doesn't lift and hasn't expressed any interest in doing so. Our son does but he prefers the gym because he likes using other equipment such as the treadmill and some machines such as the leg press. This is primarily for me.
• This one has a chin up bar too. According to the online reviews (which had higher ratings than the Powerline), a bench fits in it. The width is the same on the first two.
• Sometimes for breakfast, but usually I drink them after a workout. I try to eat protein at every meal, which is about every 3 hours...so basically I'm getting 30 grams of protein from my powder, plus the protein from the peanut butter and soy milk. Today's been a bad day, totally loaded up on carbs. :grumble: I will try to…
• I ordered it from Amazon for $260 + $99 shipping. It has 61 customer reviews and still has an average of 5 stars so I'm hopeful I will like it. http://www.amazon.com/Power-Squat-Deadlift-Bench-Racks/dp/B004UMM4QC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1374175258&sr=8-3&keywords=power+cage
• I'm trying to eat 140 g of protein a day but it's hard to do, especially if I don't supplement with protein bars or shakes. That is a lot of meat!!! I am lactose intolerant and I even find myself eating more cheese trying to get more in. My protein powder had 30 grams of protein, then I add soy milk and peanut butter for a…
• I don't think I need a heavy duty one, so I just ordered the cheapest one along with a few other little things.
• Okay, I had buyers remorse before they delivered my used and supposedly commercial cage (kind of hard to tell since the brand had been painted over...) so we canceled the transaction. I saved over $200 buying a cheap new one off Amazon which helped me buy some little things I need. Now I have to patiently wait for it to be…
• Trust me, I'm not strong. lol I'm sure your form is much better than mine. I may be lifting more than I should. When I lifted in high school I always pushed myself really hard and I think I'm just doing the same now, probably combined with poor form since I don't know what I'm doing yet. Before starting this I was just…
• Gee...maybe I didn't do them right. :blushing: next time I think I will bring the laptop in there and watch videos for form before each exercise. I know I did the SLDL wrong. :ohwell:
• I did what you said and it got the price down to $526, down apx $53...not much considering how expensive it is. I talked to hubby and he wants to know what's so much better about this one besides the 1000 lb capacity but I will never be able to lift anywhere near that much.
• Something like this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017RFZIM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATU99V9UX6MC1
• Wouldn't that be nice!
• Yeah, I'm leaning toward this one since it has such great reviews. However, the 2nd one is just a little more once you add the delivery to the 1st and the reviews on it are pretty good too. I have definitely decided against the 3rd, it's just too expensive on top of everything else I have bought (a bench and BB set) and…
• I would get a BB I could add plates to. I figured I could just add to it until I could use the 45 lb. one and also use it for everything I do outside the cage. It's a bigger investment but more flexible. I could buy either type of db. Ideally I would buy both, but we are also buying a cage so I can't have it all.
• Got ya, thanks! The conflicting information confused me. I will just do 2 from now on...that will certainly make things a lot easier. You have been so helpful so far. It's very much appreciated!! :flowerforyou:
• The paper I printed says 2 warm up sets and 2 work sets on the first 3 exercises, then do 4 sets of 8 on the rest. Is that wrong? Yes, I'm thinking the BB would be best too.
• Week 1, Day 1 Squats 55 Bench Press 55 Bent over rows 75 (this was very difficult but I did it) Overhead bb press...I was supposed to do 40 lbs. but I my bb is 45 and my highest db's are 15 so I used those. SLDL 80 but I could only do 2 sets...should I lower my weight next time or stick it out? Bicep Curl 15 lb. bb's again…
• That's the one my husband says is too expensive...
• I just saw this picture the other day and was shocked! I have lost a little over 50 lbs. so far and I didn't realize my face was so puffy before. No wonder I didn't like having my picture taken. Before... This was taken 2-3 weeks ago. I can't call it my after because I still need to lose more weight, but is current.…
• I think I learned how to post the pictures... This is the first one, $260 + $99 shipping This is the 2nd, $386 (free shipping) The expensive one (according to hubby)
