  • I do zumba on my wii/xbox, I'm 270 and I usually get 600 for an hour - my median heart rate is about 140 usually if that helps
  • I literally just told my husband I was quitting WW and coming over here permanently last night. I've been cocharting for 21 days now, and it's just so much easier - actually I haven't charted points in a few days. I eat almost a core diet, so what's the difference really. Also I get sick of every stupid recipe having…

  • I'm guessing we are at about the same place so I understand the wanting to know, but the heart rate monitor isn't really for that because it doesn't tell the difference between your normal resting rate and your extra calorie burn rate. If you really want to know what you actually burn in a day every day so you can eat…
  • I actually love that song, but not in my head *side eye*
  • Thanks for the heads up on the group - win!
  • Sci fi/comicbook/fantasy/gaming/ convention nerd here. One of my weigh loss goals is to get back to a good size for costuming. WEE Actually pretty much all kinds of nerd-dom...but yea, nerd here too. ETA: And also books/movies/etc - like for instance LOTR (see user name)
  • Accepted both! Thanks :) More the merrier I guess I shouldn't have limited this to parents only - I'm happy with all
  • I started WW at the beginning of the year, and technically I'm still a member. I was double tracking for a while, and now I'm just doing mfp. They are practically identical anyway. 20 lbs so far and still goin.
  • I ordered from Costco too, and mine will be here Thursday. SQUEE! From what I've seen, it syncs up well with mfp. One of my friends uses it, and it just gives her a "calorie adjustment" every day.
  • Honestly I go to the YMCA, and the only thing that ever bothers me is when my other mom friends come up and talk to me when I'm in the hard part of my 5k training. I tell them I can't talk and will talk later. Nothing anyone does bothers me. Everyone has to do what works for them. Maybe I bother other people. I'm working…
  • Nothing! I'm the big A. ;)
  • oh good, I like things that hurt in a good way. hah. sorry - I had to. And thank you for the reply!
  • I just bought one today too. I'm excited. I got the costco link, so it comes with a year of membership.
  • Is this a joke? It's really not healthy. I started at 290 less than two months ago, and I'm at 271 right now. I eat about a 1700 cal diet, and I exercise 30-60 minutes a day. I lost 6 lbs my first week, 5 my second, and from there it's been between 0.2-2.2 lbs a week. You will really only lose big those first couple of…
  • If you are nursing - the ultimate place to go is the Park Nicollet Breastfeeding store that's in the Meadowbrook building attached to Methodist hospital. They will measure you, and also be able to help you find nursing bras if that's what you are looking for. And this is coming from someone who has nursed babies for over…
  • I love to garden. I'm in Minnesota so our season is short. I bought a 4 foot grow light last year and started a bunch indoors. I do some simple flowers, but my heart is the tomato. I never have luck with bell peppers, but usually have killer cukes, lettuce, onions, snap peas and beans too.
  • I eat mostly clean, but I have a good treat every day and I lose consistently every week. That being said, I'm doing WW - but the calories I get eating protein dense foods for my majority are very similar to MFP. I've been chowing on either GSC's or m&m's, one serving most nights here. Still losing. But then the majority…
  • Recipes people!? ;)
  • The advertising on Biggest loser drives me nuts. The trainers would NEVER eat multigrain cheerios or tell their contestants to, but they pawn it off on us. I love Larabars though, I eat about one a day. I bought a bunch at target's seasonal section the other day 30% off value boxes so they were $5 for 8 bars. I wouldn't…
  • When I first got my polarFT60, it was giving me half the calories it gives me now. I had not done the fitness test yet, once you do, if you are not fit it bumps you up. For my age and weight it doubled my burn once it realized how out of shape I am. Your fitness level really does play the part, so if you have both…
  • Your second post makes me think you might generally be a rude person to start, so try really hard to be patient and be concious of your own level of negativity. Give the guy a try, and see how it works, and then if you have some constructive criticism, give it. A whole conversation would bother me. A hi or hello shouldn't…
  • 1 cup is 240 ML 4 cups is 960 ML 8 cups is 1920 ML or roughly 2L
  • That was really embarassing for me to read, because I've been in your wife's position for the majority of my marriage. I've gone on and off WW, but was never really committed. Except one time, right after we got married, I was committed, so was my husband, and then I got pregnant and he got to WW goal. I had the hardest…
  • Made steak fajitas with whole wheat flatouts the other night. Used Frontera seasoning packet (because Rick Bayless is a food god), 10 cals a serving. tons of fresh lean peppers and onions sauteed, and lean steak. topped with cilantro, salsa, and sour cream.
  • I just want to add to find what works for you. I've belonged to lifetime and the Y because I use their childcare and group fitness classes. I'm currently at the Y, and I love that I have about 6-10 girlfriends from my moms club that all go there. We go to classes together, one of them lifts weights for me, and I love it. I…
  • Mine doesn't so if that's important to you, then get the next level up. I got mine because I wanted the burn rate when I do exercise classes/gym. So if you are a distance runner, the ft60 alone isn't for you.
  • I hope you can get your crap together for your baby. Seek help if you need it. It's no fun growing up with a dad who drinks his nights and/or weekends away.
  • Good to know about the traffic! I was wondering about that. I'm super sick today still (boo!), but my brother and I are meeting at the southdale Y tomorrow and I'm starting the Zombie 5k program. :) 5 K in 5 months - I got this.
  • Maybe it's cliche, but when I'm doing HIIT - I like to use kanye west's "workout" for my high level once or twice. It gets me movin my legs.
  • How much do you weigh right now or what is your BMI? the safe amount of weight to lose is anywhere from nothing to 2 lbs a week. I'm going to assume you are a little less than where I am at from your wanting to lose 120 lbs, and if you went from nothing to 1300 or 1500, you still are not raising your calories enough.…
