Steely Dan "No Static at All" I found an "eraser" song though. A couple of years ago I noticed that if I get an earworm, no matter what song it is, if I start singing SR-71's "Right Now" from the top, it's like a magic eraser for the stuck song. But it doesn't get stuck itself. I'm weird, I know.

Yes, yes, YES! to the peanut butter on garlic bread! I thought my family was the only one who did that! Oh, so good.

I have a daughter named Amanda Eve too! :) That being said, I second the above advice to make small changes that DO mean something to you. You can do it!

We had a baby squirrel fall out of the nest in our yard. He was nearly grown, so we picked him up and took him inside. He was just sort of stunned, I guess. Fed him sunflower seeds and peanuts for a couple days until he seemed strong again. Then he didn't want to leave! He sat by our back door and cried for a day or two.…

I like my arms and shoulders. I like the way my belly is still soft, but now with definition (and 12 inches smaller!!) I have always been proud of my boobs and I'm happy they haven't changed much, still a D cup, just a smaller band now. Yay, me all the way!! <3

I HATED Zumba and I gave it a fair try, maybe 10 classes? I gave myself permission to quit, and I found a low-impact boot camp class that I LOVE instead. It's all about what works for you. Maybe that's what's bothering you, it isn't a good fit?

I'm about to turn 50. EVERYTIME people discuss their children, and I say, "I have a daughter who is 32." I get the same response: "YOU have a 32 year old? You don't look 32 yourself!" It gets old, yeah. :\ But I did finally stop getting carded in the last few years.

OK, someboy beat me to it, LOL. And I second the guava jelly! Wonderful stuff, especially my mom's homemade...:drinker:

I use the same recipe. However, once assembled, then I GRILL IT. Just like grilled cheese, y'all. It. Is. To. Die For. Trust me, try it.

You look great and I'm saving this to read more.

I just want to tell every single one of you on this thread how very proud I am of you.

Thanks, this thread helped me too!

Hello from Norfolk.

When I worked in convenience stores years ago, we had a written procedure that instructed us to make popcorn at certain times of the day - like right before rush hour - not because it would be fresh, but because the smell of it would cause people to buy it, usually with something to drink too... see how that works? :noway:

Thank you for your kind and motivating post! Good job, everybody!:flowerforyou:

I check in on FB once every morning. My grown children often post pictures of their comings and goings and I like to see those. I am only friends with people I know. I hide people who only play games and I hide people who post political or religious things in an offensive manner. Everybody has an opinion, it's just rude to…

My co-workers know I've worked really hard to lose my weight. They also get a kick out of my method of resisting - for me, it's usually satisfying enough to just smell it. So they often bring a treat by for me to smell, knowing I likely won't have one anyway. It's all in good fun.

My husband told me in the same breath to both stop losing weight and quit messing with my hair (recently cut a pixie - people have stopped me in stores to tell me how cute it is or ask who cut it.) I did all this work to look good and feel healthy and now he doesn't think I am attractive any more. I feel devastated.

I'm 5'0" too. At my heaviest, I was 165 lbs, size 14/16 US. I never even weighed that much when I was pregnant! I was 102 lbs in high school. Now, my goal is 125, and I'm getting close! I'm just over 130 lbs now, and wearing US size 8 pants and size 12 or L tops, because I've got big boobs and no, they didn't shrink when…

Thank you, you're right. I have learned that since then, and what little bread I do eat now is 100% whole wheat. But since that was the sum total of his weight loss advice, I still feel like he was pretty useless. Good luck on your journey!

I don't know how to add you but I wish you the very best of luck! I have been puzzling through some health issues complicating my weight loss too, and I know it sure feels good to have one of those lightbulb moments! You GO, lady!

I went to my family doctor and complained that I had been steadily gaining weight over a few years, in spite of being active and going to the gym. I was 5'0 and 165 pounds. He told me to "just don't eat anything white." I self-paid to see a dietician, and we have worked together over 16 months and I am down 32…

I'm going to be 50 in January. 18 months ago, I just decided that it was time to get my act together. I set 2 goals to reach by the time I reach the big 5-0. #1 - lose the weight, permanently. I started at 165 lbs. I'm just 5 feet tall, so that was heavy for me. I weighed more than I did during any of my pregancies. 32 lbs…

I have a pair of size 5 jeans that I last wore in 1984. They are the only thing that I have held onto for so long. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting close! This is a great thread.

Don't go around in baggy clothes. As you lose weight, replace as needed. I get mine from thrift shops, to save money. How your clothes feel on your body is a great indicator of weight changes, either way up or down. Baggy clothing adds visual weight to your frame, defeating your efforts to look slim and trim. You don't…
