I have the same problem with my *kitten*. I've lost 3 inches from my waist and 2 from each thigh but *kitten* has not shrunk a single mm. I think at some point you have to accept the way you are built and strive to be the best you rather than look at other people's body shapes.

Thanks I will look at those links. 12kg might be OK - I guess if it's too heavy I can always get a lighter one and progress to the heavier one when I am ready whereas if it's too light then it's just a waste.

I just got back from a trip. I set my "goal" to maintenance That is a good idea, I will just get annoyed if I am about 1000 calories over a day but if I set it to maintenance I will feel a bit better, even if I eat the same. It might also encourage me to walk around a lot which will help a little bit!

The thing I like about MFP is that it is a tool that I can use in anyway I want. I can do my own research and decide the way I want to eat. If I wanted more than that I would have joined Weight Watchers or Spark People.

If I am upset I will eat. If I am devastated I won’t. For example, work stress makes me want to binge but when my auntie and grandpa both died unexpectedly within 3 weeks of each other I couldn't eat a single thing.

Well looking at what I used to eat I maintained 170 llbs eating close to 2600 cals a day and I only exercised once a week belly dancing which isn't particularly strenuous. I put 30 day shred down as 20 mintues circuit training which comes out as 198 calories which seems similar to what those with heart rate monitors say they burn.

Put the fork down, fatty. Only joking, although sometimes it helps. Someone once said to me that the thing that stops people succeeding is putting what you want now before what you want most. This really stuck with me as it applies to so much! It has helped me with quitting smoking and losing weight.

I have always drunk a lot of water. I don’t even bother tracking it on here because I easily drink about 2 litres a day – it’s just a habit. I still got fat! I think there’s an idea that drinking lots of water will magically prevent you from putting on weight but it’s just not true. Obviously being dehydrated isn't good…

If I know I am going to go out and eat and drink a lot in the evening I try to work out as much as I can that day so I have more calories to play with so I don't go over. I also try to eat lightly for the rest of the day. If I am going out for dinner I look at the menu online and choose what I am going to eat beforehand…

Have you tried steaming or gilling them rather than boiling them? And I find it hard to believe you have tried every type of vegetable and hate them all, the all taste so different!

Beans and pulses are cheap, filling and very good for you as well as being low calorie. Also,green grocers and markets are a lot cheaper than supermarkets if you can get to them.
