Kettlebell
Hi I am looking for some guidance on what weight of kettlebell to buy. I want to add more strength training. I want to buy a kettlebell and use Jillian Michael’s “Shred it with Weights” along with routines on fitnessblender. I really want an adjustable kettlebell but they all seem to cost a fortune. While I am a little out…

Body weight exercises
I'd like to start doing some strength training but can't afford the gym so was thinking of trying this workout http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ every other day Does it look OK to people for a beginner? I like to log my exercise and I am not sure what it would…

Struggling to find motivation second time around
I used myfitnesspal at the beginning of 2012 and went from 170 to145 pounds. I kept it off for a while but recently things have been slipping and I got on the scales for the first time in a while after my gluttonous Christmas and am back up to 154. I’d like to get down to 140 this time. I started this morning but for some…

Returning to myfitnesspal
Earlier in the year I went from 170 lbs to 149 llbs with mfp in about 4 months. 150 was my first goal weight and when I got there I stopped logging but tried to keep up exercise and choose healthier food options. That was about 5 months ago and I am now 153 pounds (I am pretty pleased I managed to gain so little given the…

Kettleball advice
Hi I have been reading up on the internet and am thinking of getting myself a kettle ball. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice / answers to my questions. What weight should I start with? I am pretty strong and make strength gains quickly so don’t want to start too light but equally, I am concerned that if I don’t…

Ripped in 30
I am currently doing jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I did day 7 of level 2 today and am seeing great results, even though I don't do it every day and had a 5 day holiday in new york where I stuffed my face and didn't do the shred. I really like the short intense workouts and the fact it mixes up strength training and…

To log or not to log while on holiday
On Wednesday I am going on holiday to New York for 5 days. While I am planning to walk a lot and try and make reasonably good choices I will not be dieting as such. I am wondering whether or not I should log my calories and exercise. Given that I will be eating out a lot it will be an estimate at best but it might help me…

I have just put my calories up to 1400
After reading up on BMR and TDEE I have upped my calorie goal to 1400 from the original 1200 MFP suggested. I have an irrational fear I'll gain, even though its not possible! Has anyone else done this?

High calorie healthy meal
Tonight I will be going swimming for an hour and doing an hour of water-aerobics so I will be burning a lot of calories. I want to have a larger meal tonight and want something relatively healthy. I normally have a 2 or 3 egg omellette with cheese and veg, some yoghurt with maybe some potatoes or bread but I fancy…

NSV - I am fitter!!!!
I was late for work this morning and was running from the train station to work (well tottering in my heels along the pavement anyway) and I suddenly realized I’d gone about twice as far as I could before Xmas without stopping and I didn't feel particularly out of breath. It made me feel great as I had very bad PMS last…

NSV - I have a waist
Today I looked in the mirror and noticed I have a defined waist! I lost it last year and now it’s back. I still have a way to go but it’s nice to see a difference!

First day of 30 day shred
I just did the first day of 30 day shred and I actually didn't find it that bad. I think perhaps I need some heavier weights. I have no dumbbells or money to buy them since I got a massive gas bill so I was using cans of food. I am going to use litre bottles of water next time which will be 1kg each and see how I get on. I…

Panicking because I couldn’t weight myself
Before I start this I am aware I am being ridiculous, I just want to know if anyone else ever feels like this. I don’t have scales at home as I have a tendency to weight myself constantly and I decided to track my weight at the gym where I do bellydancing twice a week. I thought this would be more accurate than doing it at…

What does NSV stand for?
Please can someone tell me what NSV stands for? I keep seeing it on the forums and I don't understand!

30 day shred questions
Hi I’ve seen that some of you have had great results with the 30 day shred and I would like to try it too! I have a couple of questions though. From what I have read I get the impression you need weights for it. I don’t have much cash but would shell out for a cheap set from Argos but I want to make sure I don’t waste my…

Does it matter if my protein is high?
Hi I am new to this so sorry if it's a silly question. I have been dieting a week and while I am managing to stick to my net calories I have noticed that my protein is always high. I think it's because I find that things like chicken and cottage cheese and low fat yoghurt fill me up and I really like them. If I am hungry…

1 week in, lost an inch off my waist already
I know it's due to less bloating rather than fat loss but I've been doing this for a week and I noticed my trousers felt a little looser this morning. I measured my waist and lo and behold it's an inch smaller. I am weighing in on Wednesday at the gym. I hope I've lost something. Just a pound would make me so happy!

How often should I take my measurements?
Hi I am new to this and want to track my measurements as well as weight-loss. I have decided to weigh myself once a week at the gym as I do a belly-dancing class there and I am sure their scales are much mire accurate than mine but I don’t know how often I should take measurements. I don’t want to do it too often and…
