Heh, you're off, (on the lower side) by a decade. Did I mention that I love you?

This. Whilst it matters to your overall health, your macronutrients don't mean a thing to weight loss. Check out the study done by a doctor who lost weight eating nothing more than twinkies, ho-ho's and dolly madison cream cakes for 90 days. If you are eating a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. If you aren't losing…

The equation is simple... If calories burned is less than calories taken in, you will lose weight.... As Ayn Rand said, "Contradictions don't exist, Whenever you think you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong." Either you're taking in more calories than you think, or you…

First, avoid the temptation to weigh yourself every day. Our weight can fluctuate by up to 5lb/day. Choose a day of the week and weigh yourself on the same day every week (preferably first thing in morning after you've emptied your bladder). Second, are you weighing and logging every single thing that passes through your…

It's not unusual at all to lose quite a bit of weight the first week or two after changing your eating habits. A lot of that loss is water weight, not fat burnt  Keep doing what you're doing and you'll probably see your weekly weight loss drop to 2lb/week in a week or two. If after a month you're still losing more…

This If you've just started that fitness routine, it's very likely that you're retaining water. The body does that to help enable muscle repair when we start any new activity that breaks muscle down. As you are accurately logging your calories and your activity, you WILL see a weight loss if you continue at a deficit. I'd…

Today is day one! You have no past history to be ashamed of. What's in the past, we can't control. What we can control is what choices we make right now. I know this sounds totally flippant, but if you continue to focus on the past, there's no way you can see yourself changing in the future. Put everything behind you and…

Not true. You can not add lean muscle mass at anywhere near the rate that you can lose fat. 0.25 pound/week would be a super gain of muscle, but is not going to happen whilst you're eating at a deficit. This is not the reason that the scales aren't moving.

If it's store-bought, the nutritional value will be on the can/package. If you're making your own, then you have to measure out how much beer you put in and how much lemonade. Then get the nutritional values of the beer and lemonade and multiply by the appropriate percentage to get the actual value of what you put in. For…

Love bread! If you look at my diary, you'll see that through the week I often find a way so squeeze in a sandwich or cheese on toast into my calorie goal. Just by being here you're demonstrating that you want to lose. Keep at it! It's totally worth it in the end!

Reality, I don't think you read her post very carefully to be fair. she concluded with... 1. Calorie intake is very hard to gage and for years I thought I was eating the right amount for me but I wasn't. So I must keep track, measure, journal. If I get this wrong, I'm risking my life. 2. Breakfast is important for me so…

Way to go!!! You've obviously done a good job of sticking to your calorie goal and you're reaping the rewards  The first week or two you usually do have a higher weight loss. A lot of it is water weight. I would expect that next week you'll find that you only lose a poud or so. Great job so far!
