  • 2T Justin's honey peanut butter on 2 slices of whole wheat toast. 1/2C of blueberries Trying to change things up from my usual Greek yogurt, fruit, and cereal. :)
  • I have a few things I am looking forward to on this journey: - To actually be able to run a mile. - To look good in a cute swimsuit and feel confident on the beach. - To not have my thighs rub and hurt.
  • Going to try this! :)
  • Awesome! Added you, and if anyone else wants another friend I'm 24 and live in Las Vegas and want to lose 50-60lbs all up. :) Let's keep each other motivated and on track and live healthier each day!
  • Hot baths really loosen up the muscles. If I am particularly sore, I soak in a bath before bed. Also helps me sleep better! For a quick fix, massage with foam rolls or just your hands. Heat packs work but you need to get in there to manually loosen it up sometimes. For prevention, try doing some walking before you stretch…
  • I was in an aisle at Walmart with my friend late at night. She and I were both overweight. I had just started a jogging class at college and started to lose some weight and bought a new jacket. An older guy walked by and said "Look at the two piggies." then left. I was standing there horrified then ran after him all "What…
  • What might help is to buy your peanut butter in individual servings instead of a jar of it. That way you can portion it out better! Justin's sells packets of their honey peanut butter, my favorite. I keep them in my desk at work!
  • The guy just sounds like he is a bit inconsiderate of other people. If it was me, I'd see if he's there every Saturday at the same time and plan to go earlier so you can call dibs on the rack before he does. Not a whole lot else you can do, some people just are like that.
  • Thanks, guys! I will look into them when I get home tonight. Looking forward to shaking things up! :)
  • Some dry shampoo or baby powder to freshen up along the hairline. Baby wipes as said above, especially in the arm pits. You can also use after shower powder (Shower to Shower makes a sport type) to make you smell fresh & soak up excess sweat. I love Olay 4 in 1 Daily Facial wipes. They're dry so they transport easily, just…
  • Thanks for that! Do you have any recommendations for different videos? :) We don't have a ton of space in our apartment, so something requiring minimal equipment haha.
  • This was dinner yesterday: Organic grass-fed beef, green beans and onions stir fried in a Thai green curry paste with a side of basmati rice.
  • The way I 'retrained' mine was to just portion everything out. I felt hungry at first, but I knew that's all I could eat and kept envisioning how awesome I'd look and focus my attention to thinking about the workout I want to do in the morning as opposed to dessert. It also helps to allow yourself to snack frequently. I…
  • As said, protein will really help you to feel fuller and more satisfied. I would also make sure you don't have any gaps in your vitamin & minerals because you could just have a deficiency in something. Check your reports tab and see how you do! Other than that, I don't watch much TV because cooking shows and commercials…
  • I have lost my bloated tummy! I look in the mirror in the morning and I look a lot flatter. Still jiggly though! I am eating healthier and my clothes are fitting a lot better. (Side note: I lost about 5-10lbs before MFP.) I am able to walk further. Those are a few for now, but hoping more to come soon!
  • Hey, a workout is a workout no matter when it happens! I think the only reason it would be good to pick a consistent time is to keep a strong routine going to help the habit stick, but it may not be necessary for you. I do think the morning is best because it jumpstarts your system and wakes you up, helping your body…
  • 3 or 6! You look great! Working on losing the weight to be comfortable enough to show some midriff myself. :)
  • Hahaha at hiding in the parking lot! I've almost been there! I'm okay going for a walk with someone to help them, but I will sneak in a morning workout on my own all the same. I just enjoy it and it's such a great stress reliever, as you've said. :) I haven't gotten too much of being asked me for advice, typically people…
  • Hahaha so true. I am not a fan, but my mom thinks his word is gospel. Which makes it worse, because he always changes his mind. I guess there are always new 'tricks' and 'tips' and 'health fads' going on, you just gotta understand food labels and know what works for you! Better to do that than sit around watching TV for…
  • It's all mindset! If you think you might fail, then you will. Just keep at it, make a big deal out of little achievements, and remember how great you feel! I keep my workout gear within eyesight of my bed all ready to go, leave MFP open on my computer so I remember to track everything, etc. I have lost and gained numerous…
  • I try to drink a lot of water and give in a little. If you are still dying for some chocolate, plan it out and give yourself some. Just don't go crazy! What might help prevent the cravings is making sure you have a sufficient amount Vitamins A and B in your diet. A deficiency of either one of those can increase PMS and…
  • I just want to say congratulations! You look wonderful and there's a definite difference. You were beautiful before, but you look so much happier and healthier now. The half marathon is a huge achievement, I am striving to do something like that as well! :)
  • That's awesome!!! I'm feeling the same way, I am almost down 15lbs and I want to buy some new workout shoes once I get there! (Lost about 7lbs before getting back into MFP again.) I think it's awesome to treat yourself to something that goes towards a goal as opposed to food rewards. :)
  • It's so discouraging... Don't give up! I would say get a second opinion from another doctor, and a nutritionist might help her. She may have a deficiency of some kind, so a nutritionist may be able to help guide her through things to figure out a solution. I'm not a professional, so I can't really offer much advice other…
  • I think that it isn't a horrible thing as long as you don't feel horrible about yourself at the end of the vacation. Personally, I would still mostly stick to the diet plan, but look at what maintain calories would be for your body right now and make that your calorie goal that week. That way you don't have 5 additional…
  • I am on 1200 calories a day plus workout calories (around 300 extra calories on those days), and it isn't easy but you just have to eat a lot more fruit and vegetables than you used to. My diet focuses on proteins, vegetables and fruits, cutting out as much complex carbs and sugar as I can. Honestly, I feel fuller and…
  • For cardio: System of a Down - BYOB System of a Down - Chop Suey Linkin Park - Anything from the Meteora album I like a lot of the angrier music to get me pumped.
  • Thank you! Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. I just can't seem to form a habit of taking any sort of pill, it makes me feel uncomfortable because my parents have been taking handfuls of medications for years now and I don't want that life. Even though I know it's just a multivitamin, it doesn't sit well with me. I…
  • Hahaha that's always the way it is! But don't let it get you down, you're doing a lot of good for yourself, and it sounds like he's feeling inspired by you! Plus, it always comes off easier at the beginning with changes like that. You're doing great!
  • I can only talk from my personal experiences, but I feel like I get a much better workout at a fitness center (either at the apartments or at a local gym) than I do at home. For me there are less distractions and more space to work out with nice equipment, but it is a lot harder to be motivated to actually go. You might…
