During my first couple of weeks, I didn't change pace at all between walking and running. Now I do a bit higher for run (3.5) than walk (3.0). Now that I'm on week 6, it's going to be mostly runs. So I'm going to try to start at a higher speed---even if I have to dial it down by the end of the run.

if you have a running store newr you, I'd suggest having them fit you. The closest one for me is 3 hours away, but I had to go there for a training. They measured my feet, watched me walk and then gave me 3 shoes to try on. Then he watched me walk (and run) with them on. I ended up with Brooks. Trance 12. LOVE them!

I started C25K at somewhere between 290-300 (I was at 306 when I started, and I had been working for about a month). I'm on week 6 and I'm at 278.

If you have an iPhone, there is a very easy (and free!) app called PicStitch. (It may be available on Android as well.) This works well if your progress pics are on your phone. I take my monthly shots on the phone, and they then I open PicStitch. There are several options of how many pictures and the layout. Then you can…

(SW): 306 (CW): 280 (GW): 150 ish Food success: No Pepsi for more than a month! Drinking tons of water. I've stayed under my food goal every day. I don't usually eat back my exercise calories, but some days I use up to 200 exercise calories. Food struggles: Salt. Exercise success: I've walked almost 100 miles! Since I got…

For some of us, even your "slow" speed is too fast! My best jogging pace is 3.5 MPH (I can't stay there, but I have not been going below 3.0). My walking pace is usually between 2.5-3.0 MPH). I only mention this because I was discouraged by some posts that talked about slowing down before I realized that "slow" to me is…

That is incredible! l love to see stories of couples getting healthy together. My husband is on board, but moving much more slowly (literally and figuratively) due to health issues. But I look forward to getting healthy together.

8.48% since January 1st. I knew I was getting close to 10% because I just calculated it. I am less than 5 pounds away from my first 10%. (I'm hoping to make that by the time I see my nutritionist and my doctor in the first couple of weeks of Apirl.

I've moved back my first 5K. I was planning to run/walk in May (Race for the Zoo). But I just found out that the Walk for Hope (Cancer walk) is the night before (6-10 pm). And a good friend is undergoing chemo right now. So I'm going to walk (probably more than a 5K that night!)

Awesome! I especially like that the outfits are similar. I think it makes it easier to see the difference!
