Get it, girl! :) I think you'll find that people will love to support and cheer you on. What you're embarking on is a truly remarkable feat.

My work slacks no longer feel in danger of splitting from trying to contain my booty. :)

Yes. If it were me, I would thank God for this sneak preview of my possible future and move on to someone who loved me unconditionally. He has the right to say it, and you have the right to chuck up the deuces as you walk away. I think you were onto something when you said that his family would find something else wrong…

My mom taught me about eating healthfully and set a great example for me for exercising and taking care of yourself. Same for my dad. They both support my healthy lifestyle. My husband and I support each other positively only. Negative or "helpful" comments about weight etc are totally off-limits. Edited to add: Kudos to…

The part of your post that stood out to me was the bit about your child being up so early and you not having enough time to eat because of him. I have two little guys and I know all about how demanding toddlers can be! We have this routine on weeknights when as SOON as we get home, my kids are like "Mommy, can I have some…

Last night I made tuna cakes by throwing some stuff in a bowl that sounded good and then pattying it up. I used: 4 cans tuna one beaten egg 'bout a handful of italian bread crumbs a healthy squirt of dijon couple splashes of worchestershire salt and pepper bit o parmesean This is how I cook; dump and pour until it seems…

My mind races all day, every day. When I work out, it stops. It is the only hour of the day that I am not thinking of...anything. :)

I have been good about staying active and watching my weight for about three years, give or take, but after moving to a rural area with no access to gyms, I put back on about 10 pounds. I wasn't too worried about it and figured I'd take the weight off...eventually. Then, after FINALLY getting to the gym and having a proper…

Have you consulted an esthetician? An esthetician is someone who cares for the skin in a non-medical setting, usually in a salon or sort of clinic. My mom is one. I get ALL the skin advice I can stand. And then some. My main reason for recommending a visit to a skin care specialist is that they will get you hooked up with…

I have issues with my lower back. Anklyosistoerihghserioser Spondylosisdrselkrjhe ....something with a long name like that. I just do my thing and go straight to the chiro if I jack my back up. Within a couple days I can usually get back at it. Exercise is the best thing for it, in my case. I do boot camp style classes,…

Like many others, I have kids, a commute, and other commitments. My day starts at 4:30am, so there's no time for a morning workout without becoming a vampire. I make time after work and on the weekend. I go to a bootcamp class mon and wed nights for an hour. It kicks my butt sufficiently for the work week. I do the same…

Have you tried digestive enzymes? You can pick them up at the healthfood store. They're chewable and a little sweet, so kids can take them, too. They also help with tummy aches, etc.

Bahaha! This! I went out yesterday by myself and walked nine. I got totally schooled and humiliated by an older gentleman who came out to help me after watching me play horribly through one hole. Luckily, I had on my big girl panties and was able to put aside my pride and learn something. I want to be able to crush the…

Congrats on the baby! You are on the right track, Mama, but you're going to have to cut yourself some slack. I agree with the advice to still watch your calories, but if you want fruit, eat it. I craved it like crazy during both of my pregnancies. The juicier, the better...smoothies were like a drug! Yes, fat and protein…

5'8.5 here. Not sure on the goal thing. Short term is 160. After that, I guess it depends. I highly value easy maintenance, so I'm not likely to push to be rail thin if it requires me to go too low calorically. I'd like to be 155, just so I could say I'm the weight I was when I got married.

Holy pissing contest. Body Pump is beneficial. It taught me the basics of lifting, which eventually gave me the confidence to go lift with the bros on the freeweight side. I saw major improvement in my definition after a few weeks. And it was fun.

Challenge accepted and my drawers still aren't in a twist about her posts, her attitude, or her habits. I checked my pocket translator and "accept my genes" directly translated to "accept my genes." Probably because those were her words and you can't just change them to suit your needs.

From what I read (maybe my English is slipping?) she said that she "will always have to watch her weight." Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I must have missed something. What's funny about that?

My stomach looks similar to yours. I'm 33 and the mom of my husband's two gigantor children. :) Do what is right for you and your family. I feel like the people who suggest the "wait and see, it might reabsorb like mine did" approach are the same ones who ask if we used cocoa butter for our stretch marks. My baby is three,…

Pretend you own the place. As you walk toward those kids, pick one and stare him down. I can almost guarantee they will not hold your gaze and will sheepishly look away. I do this to kids in the hallway at the school where I teach or at the mall if they're being jerks; it matters not if they know you, they will usually…

"9) Some of the same people that see you turn your life around for the better will try to bring you back down to their level in order to feel good at the level they are STILL at. " You have inspired me today. Thank you!

I have an auto-immune disorder that causes pain and fatigue sometimes that are similar to Fibromyalgia. I would be happy to support, as well. The pain hasn't stopped me yet because I'm not going through a flare, but the fatigue is kicking my *kitten* right now. You just do your best! That's ALL that matters.

This is going to sound to cheesy, but when I scrolled down to your "after" pics, I actually jumped. Like, they physically startled me because the change was so drastic. If I had water in my mouth at the time, I probably would have sprayed it on the screen. Like, wow. Amazing work! And I have the same towels.

First of all, I'm not trying to split hairs and I realize my reply might have come off as a little brisk. I am saying I disagree with your position that HIIT can't be done for 45 minutes at a time. I agree with you that it can be done at 100%, as you said, for a shorter amount of time. I don't think that's the only way,…

I disagree. It's not called "Maximum Intensity Interval Training," it's called "High Intensity Interval Training."
-
It has been the magic bullet for me. I do boot camp style classes at my gym, but you can easily create similar workouts at home, etc. Endurance isn't my thing, due to a heart thing, but I can get my cardio in by doing HIIT. It's a beautiful thing. A word of warning: it can be very intense. Listen to your body. If you feel…

Hi! My two cents is to take in what you read on this site a bit at a time. It can all be overwhelming. The basic key to weight loss is to burn more calories than you consume in a day. There are calculators you can use which will tell you how many calories to eat a day in order to lose weight. Best wishes to you! You're in…
