I cannot get over how YOUNG you look! Good work.

You don't scurr me. I'm on extended induction, but at this point it's only been five weeks. I'm ready to move on to OWL by adding low carb bread and some nuts. After months and months of trying to lose but only gaining, then finding out I have high insulin, Atkins has been a wonderful solution for me. Five weeks in and…

If you're going to start lifting today, you'll need a plan of action. Since it's such short notice, I'd look up Stronglifts 5x5 since it's free and readily accessible online. I'm following New Rules of Lifting for Women, which is a book. Both programs will give you routines to do with instructions for increasing the…

This behavior is extreme and unhealthy. I get it. My mom once offered me a trip to Ireland if I lost some weight. Sounds great until you basically equate your worth in your mom's eyes with the weight on the scale. I don't know what to tell you because there's no easy solution. She thinks she's protecting you, you…

My little boys (7 and 4) LOVE to do HIIT with me. We race each other down the lane in front of our house. We do high knees, run backwards, bear crawl, whatever. When I need a break, they race each other while I try not to puke. ;) It's awesome.

This is what I thought should be my goal, too. I am around the same size. I think that in trying to learn what my number should be, I've gotten confused. I supposed I'll figure it out through trial and error.

I'm going by the protein rec made on the iifym.com calculator. To be honest, right now I'm kind of experimenting. I know that before I was too low (around 60g per day) and I feel like 165g/day is high, but I wanted to give it a chance if it will truly complement the NROL4W program. The pros of it are that I am not very…

I think you've got a good point about drinking more water. I usually get about six to eight cups, but with all the demands I'm placing on my body, I probably need more. Trying to adjust to all this protein has me pretty unbalanced. I find myself fantasizing about fruits and leafy greens. I have been so focused on the…

Bump for later reading.

Thanks, everyone. I like seeing diaries that are full of real food! I also like friends who post about their weight lifting workouts, so feel free to add me.

I'm a saltaholic. Always have been. I can pass on the dessert table at holidays, but the olive and pickle tray? Veggie dips? Cheese platters? Hot wing dip? I hover over those.

I love boot camp. I log it as circuit training.

I agree with this and think it's eloquently stated. It's hard to visualize something you've never seen.

Shoveling snow? Not exactly the same, but pretty close in terms of expenditure. Either that or circuit training.

The only time I don't feel good after a workout is when I get this weird phenomenon that happens when I work out in the cold. Yesterday, I went for a nice hike in the woods. I was running up the hills and feeling great...but then I got cold and started to itch. I've read that it has to do with capillaries and blood flow,…

The only low cal dressings I like are from Trader Joe's. There's a Champagne Pear Vinegarette that has about 50 cals in two tablespoons and a Light Champagne Vinegarette dressing that has around the same number. They're both really good. I also like the Trader Joe's hummus salad dressing with 80 cals per 2 tblsp.

Bump for later reading. :)

I'm a bootcamper. I love it. I like not knowing what is coming up. Best experience: I was flipping a tractor tire, sweating in all my nether regions, and complaining about how slow I was. Then my instructor shouted from across the room "I don't see any other soccer moms in here flipping tractor tires! Get it, GIRL!" I…

I don't have Crohns, but I have AI. Friending you now :)

I think your choices are this^ or just not letting it get to you. It's Facebook. If you share it, people are going to judge it.

Such an amazing story. Well done!

I take a big ol bag of food to work with me every day. I eat five snacks, yes, five, because I know that if I don't I'll be a raging B by five o'clock. Today for lunch I'm having leftover taco soup from last night, but in a smaller portion. For my snacks, I'm having 1 cup of brown rice/quinoa medley 1 banana 1 apple…

I agree with the idea that pregnancy and motherhood are not excuses to "let yourself go." I disagree with the "Look at me, if I did it, so can you" thing. I have split abdominals that no amount of crunching or lifting will heal. Only a surgeon can put those back together. You can reach down to my guts through my belly. I…

You could just decide to indulge and enjoy. Congrats on your anniversary! If that doesn't work for you, you could go with the fajitas. I get them and ignore the tortilla and load up on salsa and veggies. They might not drown it in oil if you ask them.

It sounds like you got results, but not the ones on the cover of the DVD. That is good progress! Keep going!

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, which is arthritis that causes low back pain and other joint pain. I'm actually just a little overwhelmed right now bc I'm recently diagnosed and am dealing with a flare up and some complications. Guess this thread came along at the right time :) Anyhoo, I just ignore it when I can and work…

I've been tweaking my food over the past couple days to get as close to my protein goal as possible, which has been hard! Also, I've been walking at night with my son in addition to my lifting routine. It's been great bonding/decompressing time for us together.
