hi Sarah! I have a friend on here who has lost over 400 lbs. No surgery. Just by eating at a calorie deficit. I will leave you a couple links to read. Please take the time to read them all closely. It is all the best advice on MFP in one spot…

I thought this post was brilliant!
-
Boy, that's the truth! :s

I have a cup of hot chocolate. Not a lot of calories but it kind of helps with the sweet craving. Then brush your teeth and go to bed!!
-
that sounds great!!
-
I do much better when I don't talk about it. It's between me and no one else, and that way the only one who has expectations is me!
-
I also think it has to do with not having a distended stomach full of food and feeling yucky
-
I third this! It is not an easy process and will take a lot of self discovery, ups and downs. But I think you probably need more support than what you can get on MFP. I would also say to friend those who have been successful on here. Good Luck!

For me it is an appetite suppressant!
-
I see nothing wrong with butter, and oils. I don't like cheese and sugars...meh. As long as you log and account for them.
-
Yes. On the rare occasion I let myself get really full, I remember how awful it feels!
-
It is tough to determine where that line is. I have avoided going out to eat on occasions I felt I needed to cut back. I don't see anything wrong with that. It would have been different if she just didn't go to the restaurant or even went in to sit with them and ordered something she felt was acceptable. But to take a…

I agree 100%. She one time posted a picture of her family eating pizza in a restaurant while she waited outside. I remember thinking how sad that was. Having a negative impact on family/social life would be a better descriptor!!
-
I agree, definitely real. I have a FB friend who obsesses over and has to post all of her gluten free, non dairy, organic, nitrate free, grass fed etc.....dishes. She even buys a special toothpaste which is organic or something. I actually feel bad for her because I do see it as an eating disorder.
-
So, I want to make sure I got this straight. You passed the written but failed the fitness test? Can you re take it? Take today and let yourself feel bad but wake up tomorrow on a mission to conquer that test!! You got it next time!!

First of all, take a breath. No one was making fun of you but many people on here have heard the same stories. Many people are not ready to face up to the fact that they are eating too many calories. You are actually very lucky because people are going out of their way to help you. Don't get mad and tune out...welcome the…

Like others have said, no matter what you are eating if you were truly around 1200 calories a day you would absolutely be losing weight When you say a cup do you mean a cup of dry or cooked? Something is not adding up... When people say you need to eat more it generally means more nutrient dense, filling, but lower calorie…

If you do what Vismal said, you will be pretty much doing low carb. When you eat at a calorie deficit you cannot heap scoops of pasta on your plate. Get plenty of protein, vegetables, healthy fats and yes...carbs!! I try to stick with the multigrains, That's all it takes, eat regular food, at a modest calorie deficit. This…

Logging/weighing my food every day has taught me how to eat correct portions. I am 50 years old now and have come to realize that I cannot eat the same as I used to.(especially if I want to maintain a healthy weight) Sounds odd but I started to realize how big my portions were when I had a friend who had bariatric surgery.…

Excellent advice!!

Take your time and read them closely. Read all of the links in…

Not to be a debbie downer but whenever I try a pre workout, I get anxious, my heart races and I get nauseous during my workout. So my only pre workout is no food for 3 hours prior and lots of water!! Many people say a cup of coffee works great too!
-
nevermind!
-
I dont know how much they eat in a day but, I'm pretty sure if I tried to look like that I would be passing out right and left. I went to a CrossFit competition a couple of weeks ago. There were women there whose bodies I admired so much more. Given the choice, I would prefer the muscle.
-
You are no "baby lifter" my friend! I remember hearing and believing people under 16 years old shouldn't lift. I totally disagree with this now...as long as they're properly trained
-
I find I am my hungriest betwen the hours of 8 and 5. I eat most of my calories between those hours and usually can have a small dinner. I find that works for me instead of trying to hold off on eating until "meal time". If I held out until I was starving, I would make poor choices so this works for me
-
How fun!! Yes, all you have to do is post a new pic and everyones eyes will pop out of their heads! Congratulations!

Well, let us know how it goes! I think if you speak from your heart about your struggles, it will not come off as arrogant. Everyone loves a good before/after story! I will warn you of something that has happened to me. When you put it out there, you will get lots of questions on how you did it and people asking for help.…
