Holy Crap...I cannot believe the ignorance of people, yes even the child. He heard that from somewhere... Even though it can be motivating when you get pissed off, change the thought to I am doing this for me and no one else. It helps with long term success. Make yourself your priority. You deserve to look and feel good,…

the thought of what would happen if I stopped.

Yes, do this for YOU!! Make yourself priority. Drive away stress, and loneliness. Seek out good stimuli, exercise, sleep, rational diet, love and PLAY.

You don't have to be super in shape or super lean to be a good trainer (as someone mentioned, it could be an obese power lifter) but I want someone who practices what they preach. In the beginning, as you choose a trainer, you don't have a lot to go on as far as their skills (other than word of mouth) I would rather choose…

one more thing...if you get frustrated, ask your doctor about Victoza. It is a diabetes medication but can work wonders for getting your appetite under control and jump starting weight loss:)

For me, there has never been anything like it. It turned my whole thought process around on weight training and getting older. I will do it for as long as I can!

I dont have depression, I HAVE had it in the past but do not suffer with true depression. It really becomes a Catch 22. You are depressed because you are not eating properly or not moving enough or have weight to lose so you turn to food. You have to turn that around and trust the process that if you turn this around there…

Carlos, Considering you were perfectly happy being 100 lbs overweight, I hope you can find the determination to do this. It was never enough what others wanted or thought, it had to be something I wanted to do for myself. I was diagnosed pre diabetic also. I did not so much change my eating habits. ( I never ate cookies,…

I do Crossfit also and allow myself 200 extra calories the days I go. My classes are an hour long with there being a 10 minute warm up, a 30 minute strength training session followed by the HIIT portion being anywhere from 8-20 minutes long. @KristyKing359 are your classes about the same??

agreed! I don't really know any of my exact numbers. I don't believe anything is 100% accurate but from logging my calories on here daily I know what numbers I lose, maintain, and gain using. And it changes depending on the season.(more active in summer) basically for me.... weight loss=1500/maintenance=1700/weight…

I do Crossfit and lost 45 lbs but that was mainly by watching my calories. Crossfit alone was not enough. Of course this meant I could not lift as much as others but I am pretty good at body weight exercise like burpees, planks, push ups. There are other members who are upset because they cannot lose weight. It's because…

If you decide on C4, you may want to start out with half of what it tells you on the label. I must be very sensitive to this product because my heart was racing and I hadn't even started working out yet. Just test it out slowly.

I don't meant to sound dramatic, but I think you should probably mention this to your physician.

food scales only cost about $10-15. It's totally worth that investment!!

I feel better at 50 than I did 40. I look better too. I remember feeling horrible at 40.

As I was reading your post I was thinking, please let this end with him finding "fitness". I believe finding a love for something fitness related is key to keeping anxiety and depression at bay. It may not be enough for everyone but I see it as extremely important. Focus all that energy into your Muay Thai, get that heart…

7/8 sounds very reasonable! Follow your heart and how your body feels and maybe kindly tell them that you are aware of what is best for you, they need not worry. :)

Exercise all you want but you want it to be sustainable. If you enjoy it, great! But if it has become a chore, you will not be able to keep it up. I am 50 and know how little a more "mature" :s woman has to eat to lose weight. Some days you feel like you eat like a bird, which is why I try and fill my day with lots of…
