http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants#latest Best link on here. Lots of reading but invaluable. I will tell you one thing I have learned is you do not have to eat "healthy" to lose weight. You just have to eat less. Every time I started a "diet" I would…

doughnuts, or anything sweet in the morning. I got sick off of a cream puff in 8th grade...worst.feeling.ever.

that bicep....I want that bicep

well, I can relate...or used to. No matter how many times I hear" the scale doesn't matter", for me it does. I feel wayyyyy more attractive after losing 45 lbs. I am much healthier and happier. I exercise regularly, and watch my calories. This in itself has a huge effect on my happiness, and I do not plan on stopping.…

No. This is completely false. This man says it better than I ever could. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/vismal/view/starvation-mode-is-a-myth-661119

ciara, I will add one more thing. I am sorry yo felt you were attacked. I can honestly say when I post on here I am taking the time out to try and help someone. I think most others feel the same. It may not always come off as encouraging, but you want a solution right? I will tell you I have logged almost daily for a year…

Listen, I have kids your age and I would never "bash" anyone. I know your young. But you are choosing to listen to the adivce you want to...so go ahead and eat more calories. If you were truly eating 700 calories you would be losing weight.(though not in a healthy way) Come back in a few weeks and tell us where you are at.…

You may have been eating more food...but you began to eat in a calorie deficit. I feel like I am eating more now too but I am eating more chicken, fish, veggies, eggs etc...instead of calorie dense foods such as pasta and cheez its ...I still eat pasta but I weigh and measure it and make it fit into my day.
-
It doesn't matter if it is veggie pasta. A calorie is a calorie. check the labels and compare.

Your doctor is 100% wrong. That is ridiculous.

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 By far the most useful link on MFP. Everything you need in one spot. Good luck!!
-
This exactly. If you are eating a lot of pasta/rice, you are probably eating more calories than say if you were eating lean meats. You are eating more calories now than before. If you want to continue eating vegetarian and you want to lose weight, you have to start weighing and measuring your foods and eating in a calorie…

Do you mean it makes him angry?? It shouldn't, you are doing what you need to do to reach your goals. My husband cuts labels out for me to help me in my logging. Especially since exercise is an issue, logging food for weight loss is even more important...

You don't gain from exercise unless you are still eating too much. Eat at a modest calorie deficit and continue to exercise and you will see even more amazing results!!! :)

From someone who hid their arms for 15 years...long sleaves in the hottest weather, I am going to say my arms. After weight loss and weight training, I am finally not embarrassed to show them.

Try and change your goals to fitness goals, I did not begin lifting heavy weights until around 47 years old. I lost 45 lbs but also changed the shape of my body.If only I had started at the age of 20...wow what i could have done!!
-
Ummmm No. Losing more weight is in no way going to make you look more fit. You will look emaciated. You need to incorporate exercise into your life. I suggest weight training or HIIT to become stronger and sculpt your body. You will not get bulky but you will look and feel so much better. You in no way need to lose 30…

Read the forums, there is a ton of good advice and tips on here. Make "like minded" friends on here, avoid the downers and surround yourself with friends who are successful in their dedication to MFP. I have not relied on one specific person, but have a few friends who I have learned from their good example. Everyone is…

OP it has been a boring day at work today...you have kept me entertained that's for sure

higher fat items such as olives and avocado really help me with hunger

Depending how much you usually drink in a day, it may not be a good idea to completely cut it out. In fact, having an "all or nothing" mentality usually leads to feeling deprived and then giving up. Consider making small changes in your diet and slowly begin making better choices for yourself.

Remember you dont necessarily need to exercise to lose weight, though there are enormous benefits. I agree with the others as far as your husband helping more. I work full time and my husband was more of a stay at home parent. Let me tell you, being a stay at home parent is no easy task and just because you work full time…

You should friend request a man on here whose screen name is Tannunisfred. He has lost I think 300 lbs doing MFP and is shooting for I think maybe 150-200 more. He is an amazing inspiration and shows what patience and persistence can do. My best advice would be to contact him. he is great with helping people, especially…

alcohol, I love my wine and vodka but it's a calorie killer

I have found this to be true for me too. If I need to sweeten something up, i use it. But, if I start eating too much of it I am hungrier in general.
-
I am off my diabetes meds after losing 45 lbs. I try and really focus on protein...lots and lots. Besides filling you up, it controls your glycemic index so you are not starving and craving foods as much. Calories in/calories out are most important when losing weight.
-
yes, same here. In these situations I just use 1 cup or 1/2 cup cooked. I cant make myself too crazy and it hasn't seemed to affect my weight loss. It is still way less than I used to eat.

FYI...you kind of need to log in or respond or take some kind of initiative for this to work...
