Thank you, that post really helped. I just need to tweak a few things until I find something that works and I'm going to start measuring instead of relying on the number on the scales.

I incorporate them into my daily allowance whereas calories in nuts for just a tiny amount seem to be sky high....
-
Oh and I guess I figure the more I eat the less likely I am to lose weight.
-
Haha okay thank you!! So work on adding protein! I get scared by the calories in things like nuts!

I should probably have voiced that it's been an ongoing concern of mine since I started the gym at the beginning of the year. I haven't really lost any weight all the time I've been going to the gym :-/ in the past I've lost weight consistently while doing minimal exercise (a swim here and there) and just by sticking to my…

Thanks for your replies guys. Muscleflex79.....I have no interest in weight lifting at all. I do a little bit to try and help keep me toned, that's all. I want to lose weight....that's my main goal. As for the water retention.....how do I fix that or is that something that eventually goes the longer I exercise?
-
Thank you for replying. I'm not even close to my goal weight which is why I thought the amount of exercise I'd done this week would help. In the past, my first few weeks have seen big losses and then its steadied itself to a couple of pounds a week. Would I be gaining muscle at the gym? Or is that just a myth? I know I…

I've gone for the Alta!! It's such a difference from my Flex already!
-
That's great, thank you :)

I usually do the Elliptical for around 12 minutes which MFP tells me burns around 130 cals. But on a day when I've done a good amount of steps, my fitbit adjustment will have earned me around 440 cals but when I add the Elliptical that drops to around 180! So the maths doesn't even add up there!

Bumping for more friends! :D

Would love to be support for you :) I need it myself at the moment! Been here since the beginning of the year and hit a wall recently! I'll add you as a friend now! Also, don't pay too much attention to MFP's sugar recommendation......you can be over your daily amount by eating two pieces of fruit according to this…

Totally this!!! Bawled! Like a baby!!!

Sorry, I should have explained that I calculated my TDEE with my exercise set as sedentary as I still wanted to be able to log my workouts and calories burned so my exercise wasn't incorporated when I worked out my TDEE. So..... TDEE didn't work for me.
-
I tried the TDEE method for a while. I went from eating the MFP recommended 1200 to 1600 plus exercise calories. I maintained my weight for around 6 or 7 weeks before I decided to drop my calorie intake to 1400. Once I did that I started to lose again. It is different for everybody though and if I'd persisted for a few…

Were you exercising at all before you started your 5 nights at the gym? You are probably building muscle which weighs more than fat :) Try measuring your vital areas, I bet you will see in a difference if you measure often :) Well done on your gym commitment too! Keep at it, you'll see results even if they're not on the…

Yeah work your way up slowly. It could take a long while for your body to readjust as you are eating waaaay too few calories but I think you will feel better in the long run and your body will thank you for it. Ultimately you want to be healthy so to do that you need to provide your bod with more sustenance :) Remember…
-
So are you currently eating a maximum of 1000 cals a day? And do you want to lose any more weight or just maintain your current weight? Try gradually increasing your intake. As mentioned above it is likely that you will see an initial gain until your body adjusts and gets used to you feeding it what it needs but you will…

I probably should have written a bit more in my initial post! Haha I want to add more protein as currently my diet consists more of carbs and fat than of protein. I would prefer a bigger percentage of my daily intake of calories to be coming from protein as from what I've read I assume that would be better for my body and…
-
That sounds delish! What I don't want to do though is buy the whey protein solely as a way to up calories or to snack on if you get me. Ideally I want to know that the benefits are going to outweigh the costs for me :) ie. the benefits being that ideally I will be able to up my protein intake as well as aid fat loss and…
