  • I'm living in the live music capital of the world! :)
  • Bump....I'm interested to see what people have to say on this one. :)
  • Can't Stop -- RHCP E-Pro -- Beck pretty much anything by The White Stripes Sometimes I'll add some Flight of the Conchords tunes to make me laugh :)
  • If by 'gone' you mean 'temporarily less visible,' I might buy into the treatment. It's something I've heard before but never done myself. Best wishes, hope it turns out well!
  • Can't Stop -- RHCP E-Pro -- Beck End Over End -- Foo Fighters Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, etc... :)
  • Hi, my name is Elyse, and I've been hooked on running for about 6 years. I think my favorite distance is the half marathon, but I'm training for a marathon (my 2nd) in February. It's interesting to see the transition between running for exercise (obligation) and choosing to run because you just don't feel right without it.…
  • You absolutely CAN and WILL succeed in whatever your goals are! :) Stay confident, Bryan, you've got this!
  • I find that when I make small, realistic goals, I am better able to achieve them and keep going. It's a lot easier (for me) to give up when I make lofty goals that require a HUGE shift in my behavior. Little changes will add up with time! You can do this! :)
  • These aren't necessarily theme songs, but they definitely get me in that 'I can tackle anything' mood: Can't Stop -- RHCP Imitosis -- Andrew Bird E-Pro -- Beck
  • You can absolutely have a lasting relationship while pursuing your education! I got married in 2007 (at the young age of 22) and have been through a deployment and the physical distance that followed as I pursued my Masters in Public Health. I currently live about 3 hours away from my husband now, but we stay emotionally…
  • Men: Paul Newman George Clooney (he gets better with age, it's miraculous) there's something kind of endearing about Jason Segel. The crush began when I watched Freaks and Geeks back in the day Gregory Peck Marlon Brando (younger, of course. I guess I was born a few generations too late!) Women: Audrey Tautou Audrey…
  • You're recognizing it, which is a crucial step! We all have those moments too, don't worry. I find that I'm more successful when I don't beat myself up about it and say positive things about myself and what I'm going to change. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here! Best wishes--
  • Love it! I'm 5' 0" too, but I never feel short until I see myself next to others in photos :)
  • What height are you? 5'0" What the heaviest you have been? about 115 How about the lightest? 75 (not proud about that) Do you find any weight you do have on, over what's considered average for your height, shows? --Of course! It's amazing how noticeable a few added pounds are on my frame Do you feel that your lack of…
  • This might sound weird, but I used to chew gum like a madwoman. I know this is a pretty contentious issue, but sugar-free gum/drinks haven't helped me lose weight at all. I'm hoping that after I eliminate the fake sugars from my diet, I'll be on my way toward losing those last 10 lbs!
  • This may not work for you, but here's what helps me --- I have to take things one day at a time and focus on the small steps I'll be taking that day. Thinking about who you were in the past might drag you down and discourage you more than anything else. Taking little measures to exercise and eat right over a long span of…
  • I love the title of this post and your dedication--great job!
  • I had a terrible week too, but that's alright! Let's put it behind us and keep fighting the good fight! Yeesh, I didn't mean for that to rhyme and sound super lame...you get the idea, though. :) If you ever need words of encouragement, I'm here for ya!
  • They're fantastic! :)
  • Similar to what drog2323 said, the natural, additive-free stuff is logically what we should tend toward. It makes perfect sense, right? However, it is extremely difficult to implement a lasting behavior change (kicking the aspartame/splenda habit, if you will). I know how bad I feel after consuming diet drinks and how my…
  • Hello everyone! My name is Elyse, and I've been married to my husband (in the Army) for 3 years now. I wasn't raised around any military families, so this lifestyle took some getting used to! I'm proud of all of you ladies and hope we can encourage one another on our fitness journeys :).
  • I'm a grad student as well (studying epidemiology). Just carve out a little time for exercise per week (no big, sweeping changes are necessary) -- you'll be amazed at what you can achieve once it becomes part of your routine :). Best wishes!
  • I will do my best to not sound as if I'm lecturing: Weight loss is an incredibly personal journey. I think it's great that we have a supportive community here, but I don't want my weight goals to influence anyone else's. I think it's a dangerous thing to tell a fellow MFP participant that their goals are unreasonable (even…
  • I love my Virbrams :).
  • I'm 5' 0" and my goal is 100 lbs. These last 9 lbs are being pretty pesky though...
  • People seem to either love or hate them, but candy corn is definitely a weakness of mine.
  • Count me in! :)
  • I just finished battling my cold, so I know how you feel. Don't worry so much about missing a day or two of exercise, just take it easy and let your body heal. Drink lots of fluids and get as much sleep as you can! The longer you're sick, the more you won't be able to perform at your best.
