I want in too please-before you bump me to the 50+ group :) I'm Amy and I am 48, married with two teenage daughters now a freshman and a senior! I led I pretty sedentary lifestyle up until last September after my annual physical. I am 5'4" and at that visit I was 149lbs and got the doc lecture about menopause coming soon…

OMG! Congrats on what you've accomplished-it's so impressive. You look perfect now! Your diary isn't open by the way if you want anyone to review it then you need to open it. Keep doing what you're doing, the last 10 are hard to get rid of which I don't think you need to do looking at your pic. Focus on the lifting if you…

Here's my favorite salmon dish..so easy to make too! Blackened salmon: season both sides of a salmon filet with blackened seasoning (I'm blessed with a special concoction a friend from Illinois sent me). Put about 1 tablespoon olive oil and a pat of butter if you'd like into a black iron skillet. Put on a grill or stove…

Great post!

I know this may not be ideal but I created a kettlebell exercise under cardio and use my HRM to calculate the calories.

I agree with Kimmie790 and you should switch up your routine, NOT starve yourself. Add some resistance training, kettlebells or some heavy lifting in there. I'm stuck at the last ten as well but I've got 20 years on you! Vary your routine and increase the intensity but continue to fuel your body!

#4 all the way with a hot red shoe and matching lipstick and you'll be one smokin lady! Great job on the loss :)

ok- so then is a muffin top migrating tissue from sitting on my *kitten*?

I would say you have surpassed your goal of inspiring just ONE person! Looks like you inspired quite a few including myself! Well done! Keep up the great work :)

The bottom line is you should do what feels right for you. For me, I did get on the scale almost daily at the beginning which was motivating if I had lost weight but certainly not so much with a gain. What I've learned on this journey though is that the scale is less important than how I feel in my clothes. I started heavy…

Hi, I'm just about to turn 48 and really enjoy having friends around the same age given the similar issues we face! Feel free to add me! Amy

I love them too! Biggest bang for your buck on a calorie burn. I use Iron Core Kettle dvd's and they are terrific. Nothing gets your heart rate going like a kettle bell workout. Great definition in my arms from them. If I could only do one type of workout it would be kettle bells for sure :)

I drink a variety of teas both iced and hot. I like Teavana as well but I don't use it that often . I drink hot green tea pretty regularly in the office without anything added, I like it for antioxident benefits and increasing the metabolism. I also drink African Rooibos (sp?) red tea also without anything added to it, for…

you can try bodybuilding.com or if you have a smart phone there is a jefit app which is great with demos of each lift. You can search the forums for this too as I've seen great recommendations in the past for at home small weight lifting.

Please add me. I have a phobia about posting pics so this will help me get over that hurdle :)

Very inspiring! Thank you for sharing :)

I lift at home too. I started with Jillian Michael DVDs and light weights. I like to switch things up and tried kettle bells which I love. U can find cheap DVDs on amazon for Sarah lurie iron core for about 11.00 with 4 DVDs and some great workouts. I use a 20lb bell for this one. I then had my husband setup his old high…

Fiber, Fiber and MORE Fiber!! If you have access to a Trader Joe's they have Moral Fiber Blueberry Bran Muffins-they are the wonder drug for this!! Pills and powders did nothing to help but these muffins are awesome!! I'm sure you could try another high fiber bran muffin but these are great.

We're pretty much in the same boat. We're just about the same age and I have about 8lbs to go depending on which day! But it is the same 8lbs the last few months and won't budge. I've gone from very sedentary to very active since January 1 so thought it would go faster than this..not sure if it's the age or what but man it…

on a Sunday I'll take a dozen eggs, mix with a little milk, your favorite veggies (you can saute some ahead of time), fresh basil and/or chives, salt and pepper and some shredded cheese, canadian bacon or cooked turkey sausage. Mix all together and spray some large muffin tins with cooking spray and bake in the oven at 350…

Hi There. I've been lifting since about April. Prior to that I was doing kettlebells-which I love and still do in between some of my lifting days. I have been following the Starting Strenth program which is very similar to Stronglifts but it is a 3x5 rather than a 5x5 routine. I will say though I was having some back…
