We are going on our third planned trip with Carnival, with one on RC. My kids really prefer Carnival. A lot more kids and more engaged staff. (On the RC ship, the teen club staff seemed to have the attitude of -- we'll just wait around until more kids show up. So what happened, teens look in, see nothing going on, so they…

I am down 40 some pounds. 1-2 pant sizes. We are going on a cruise this summer so last night I tried on the dresses and swim suit I bought for the cruise we went on a year ago. They all still fit (except for one dress) .

Great advice everyone. Knowing myself, walking is the most doable. I will hit the gym, but won't do it every day I found some sample dinner menus and think I will be balancing the lighter fare and what I want. Even some of the light desserts look good. I have also decided to forgo the soda card in favor of drinking more…

What a great typo....

Actually the third in a 12 month period....:blushing:

I am trying to find the happy medium, I do not want to deprive myself, so I am thinking what I need to focus on is giving up those things that I do not really value.

We head out July 6 on Carnival Dream -- Belize, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Mahogany Bay

Both sound wonderful!

I put water in my coffee maker, it comes out coffee flavored. The water is still there. It counts as water.

I love my Fitbit One. I am using it a bit differently than I anticipated. I have used pedometers before and got obsessed about reaching 10,000 steps. Now I am not so obsessed about hitting 10,000 HOWEVER it has been incredible motivating me to be more active. I also enjoy logging on to Fitbit and seeing that I passed one…

I have two kids diagnosed with ADHD, one we have never given medication, the other we just now started one medication. (My line was when ADHD impacts LEARNING -- learning, not grades was the point that I would consider medication) Have you tried fish oil? That seemed to help both of my kids -- truth be told I could have…

Not Jennilyn, but a fitbit user. I use MFP for logging food and any non Fitbit captured exercise (weights, bike, other non step activities), The two communicate really well. As for whose calories are more accurate --- can't speak for Fitbit but I always take MFP's with a grain of salt, since it is mostly user generated…

For me, there is little I can do. I try to drink lots of water, but honestly I think my body retain and holds onto it for what ever reason and there is little I can do. My sodium is generally fairly low (at least it is when I eat food I prepare). And while I LOVE carbs, I have significantly cut down since generally I would…

Gum, Skinny Cow snacks, yogarts

I eat them. Maybe not all, but most. Almost three months in, I have found eating back exercise calories to be key to making this sustainable.

I understand that the HRM is good for exercise, but not for an all day calorie count.

But how do you know what your true TDEE is? Maybe the FItbit is right? Maybe the online calculator? maybe none of them are? In the end, its all estimates. I tend to trust the Fitbit over the online calculators (while acknowledging that it is an estimate) since it is with me all day.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY FITBIT It has been a great motivational tool for me to get up and leave my desk, or to walk instead of read while DS is at soccer. I also credit it with getting me through a tough (busy) few weeks where I have not been able to make it to the gym. With the Fitbit, I am motivated to get in movement…

Why do you care as long as 1. the individual is using the equipment (ie not sitting on it talking) 2. not having an obnoxiously loud conversation.

I have dropped 25 lbs and still haven't dropped a size :( I have the clothes I wore from when I was gaining, so I plan on just starting to pull those out and putting the bigger sizes away

I am at a busy time right now too. I am so HAPPY to have my fitbit right now. IT helps motivate me to get yup and move around, so, for example, I take a quick break and climb stairs a couple times a day. No, it is not ideal. But it is helping me get more active during what would be a very sedentary time.

I have a middle schooler. Active in PE is different than active in organized sports, which is different than active outside. There is peer pressure not to be overly involved in PE. The mile "run" is a casual stroll. For my daughter, outside activities have (ie going outside and being active) have all but vanished from her…

I hate running (but this looks like fun...)

I made this the other day and LOVED it: http://skinnyms.com/skinny-quinoa-skillet-supper/

I always try to get the calorie data from the restaurant's website. If the restaurant does not provide the data online, I am a bit skeptical of the what is in MFP's database. It is pretty much user provided data, and I don't know how they ordered their meal (ie hold the mayo) or whether it is accurate or a guesstimate.

Make sure the gym allows your son to use the equipment. Mine does, he even has his own membership card, but others don't.

What is he going to do at the gym? I take my 10 year old all the time. He does not lift weights, but uses the cardio equipment and the gym (basketball, running) and I am encouraging him to use the mats for stretching. I see no difference between that and the sports he plays. As for the use of the weights, my concern would…

DO NOT try the Carrot Cake Inside Out Cookies. DO NOT buy extra boxes to put in the freezer, just so you have some on hand. DO NOT eat them frozen Seriously, just do not look at them. I am pretty sure the calories will just jump on you for looking at them. THEY ARE SO GOOOD! When I go to Trader Joe's I always hit the wine…

No help with your answer, but I LOVE the typo!
