  • You would think that MFP would want to fix this bug.
  • So yesterday I checked my calorie step based calorie adjustment before a logged workout, after and at the end of the day. Yes, apparently my yoga wiped out all the step based calories I earned prior to doing yoga and kept me from earning any after yoga as well.
  • You are getting some --- I get negative calories or zero now that I took off negative adjustments.
  • I sent another message to support. It’s really frustrating
  • . And does calorie burn seem right? I just did that and it seems high, maybe the workouts are counting twice?
  • Yes, it did. I have had a Fitbit for years. I like the Apple Watch, but the mfp integration is terrible. Right now MFP is giving me only 112 calorie adjustment for 13k steps (MFP set to sedentary). The Watch is saying I have already burned 2k calories, but MFP say Apple is estimating that I won’t even reach that for the…
  • I am getting really frustrated with the poor integration between the two. From what I understand, MFP is set up to give you credit for logged workouts, and then will give you an adjustment based on your step count. It does not use the active calorie data. Apple Watch consistently gives me a estimated calorie count higher…
  • This is making sense, at least for some of my confusion.
  • So I am poking around my data on MFP coming from the Apple Watch. So far I have experienced: 1. I often get two calorie corrections, with the second being the equivalent of workout calorie burns. (For example, maybe I walked for 30 minutes and did yoga, the second negative correction is the equivalent of the calorie burn…
  • So, can anyone figure out this? Why aren’t they showing the same calorie burn for the day?
  • I think the MFP calories are up to 9 PM and the Apple includes the 9-12PM time period.
  • Came online to discuss a similar situation -- I have been in maintenance 2 1/2 years and am starting to see the creep. Last September I reduced my calories by 250 to try to counteract it, and while I lost some, the holidays brought me back up. Since then I am seeing the creep with the reduced calories (although I go over…
  • I pre-ordered mine and got it over the weekend. It is replacing a One. So far, I am really liking it. I do find it buzzes often -- even to remind me to move or for a text or calendar notification.
  • We are going to Grand Turk, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay. Ship departs on Monday.

  • I am 47 and have lost about 80 lbs, and have been in maintenance for about a year and a half. Wrapping my head around cals in/cals out was my key. Using MFP and Fitbit, I can monitor my daily (estimated) calorie expenditure and make sure that I eat accordingly. I will be honest, at this point in my life a regular workout…
  • On the eating out, I eat out way too often, but there are health(ier) options. Veggie burrito bowl from Chipotle, rather than a hamburger and fries from McD, for example. With the cooking, the internet is your friend. I, personally, add the word "easy" when looking for a recipe. It usually brings up the more basic recipes.…
  • I started out at 1200, the weight loss at that level gave me the mental "boost" to keep going in the first few weeks. I did increase it after a while
  • Yes, the MFP/ Fitbit combo was very accurate for me. One thing to add though, if you selected 2 lbs a week and are at 1200 cal, that may not be actually what you need to eat to lose 2 lbs a week. MFP will not go below 1200 cals a day.
  • Not the person who wrote this, but I AM married and agree 100%.
  • I wish my weight held steady. This week alone my weight has varied by 5.6 lbs. There was a three pound variation from one day to the next this week. It drives me crazy. It is the crazy fluctuations that cause me to weigh daily, I need to look at the trend as opposed to the number on the scale that morning.
  • When I stalled the first thing I always did was look at water retention. For example, I know I retain water more in June. Yeah, go figure, every June. Its the start of summer with increased humidity. When this happens, I make sure to up my water for a while. The other thing that I do is look to mixing things up. I look not…
  • "At this very moment -- MFP says I have 1112 calories left for the day and fitbit says 1092." In the greater scheme of things, this is not that big of a difference -- as the day goes on, I find the two align.
  • This is my experience. I have found Fitibt One to be very accurate. The online calculators for TDEE are online calculators -- I would trust Fitbit, which is basing its calculations on my actual movement - over an online calculator where I have to guesstimate how active I am. That said EVERYTHING is an estimate.
  • Agree on the weighing everything Also, I always found mixing things up in regards to what I am eating and how I am exercising to be really important.
  • They show her picture in the link. Not that pregnant and could have worn something that covered her belly. She said: " 'Of course my belly is hanging out, I am pregnant.'" It seems to me that is no different than " 'Of course my belly is hanging out, I am fat.'" I don't see a special privilege occurring because it is a…
  • Volume to weight or weight to volume cannot be accurately done due to differences in mass. Online calculators calculate 1 fl oz to 1 oz in weight based on water, the further the mass of the object differs from water, the less accurate the measure will be.
  • 1. How long have you used mfp for? January 2013 2. How has your logging habits changed over time? They haven't, except when I went on cruise and didn't log for a week last July. 3. Have you ever reached goal and if so at what point? I reached my goal 10 months in 4 Have you ever reverted to your old ways whilst using mfp?…
  • As others said, personal preference. For me, I eat my exercise calories back. It is a mindset thing -- want to eat more, then have to move more. I also have a Fitbit, so tracking is not a huge issue for me, Fitbit adjusts my estimated calorie burn all day based on my activity level that day. I hope that by firmly…
  • My issue with maintaining has been been mental --- I hate to see myself go over my calorie limit, which to maintain, I should be going over occasionally to balance out the days I am under. I leave about 100 calories on the table most days and am slowly still losing.
