Not all of us believe! I have used a restricted carb diet to loose 70lbs (from 379 to 309) in approxiametly 6 months time. Yes this is anecdotal, and yes, one cannot believe everything on the internet! But looking at the actual study, and reading the scientific paper published, one can get good information

Setting is 64°F - just two window units running to cool about 800 ft² in southeastern PA.On 90°F/70°F dewpoint days, in the evening temp is about 66-67°F, by bed time back to about 64°F. 73°F is quite reasonable, what it is at work. 80°F NO WAY! What is the sense of having it A/C if you can't be comfortable!

Love the Atkins bars, part of my daily workday diet.

Take from an older male who had NEVER controlled his diet - until I started in Jan 2013 - this is the best way to lose weight and still enjoy comfort foods. No wheat (except in higher fiber reduced effective carbs tortillla wraps and bread) , rice, pasta (my Italian heritage makes this a bit difficult), potatoes, really…

I am following a low carb regime so: During the work week Atkins Breakfast Bars (2) Weekends - Two to Three Eggs, with Ham or Sausage, sometime with pepper strips, sometimes in low carb wraps. Or Bobs Red Mill High Fiber Cereal, and/or Oatmeal, with added Flax or Chia seeds. Seems to work well for me.

Your doctor is very confused! Heart issues besides, you are doing nothing drastic! I have lost 53 lbs in 144 days or 2.6 lbs a week. I have been followed up by GP, Cardiologist, and Ophthalmologist, who all were extremely impressed. Blood tests show positive improvements. Your new GP should be replaced! Make sure you are…

Yes, I have been doing low carb for the last 4+ months, and the results are great! I started at 353 lbs (I am 57yrs old male 5'9" with Type II Diabetes) and now I weigh 306lbs. I have drastically improved my diabetes control, with better physiological control of the risk factors caused by Type II. All of my doctors are…

It has worked wonderfully for me. On January 5th, I was 353lbs (having lost 12lbs previously), I am now 306lbs, for an average weekly loss of about 3lbs a week. My diet plan is 125 gm of carbs and 2000 calories a day. I get a moderate amount of fitness training, about 1900cal/week. The secret is to not eat very…

This link is good understandable explanation: http://themedicalbiochemistrypage.org/ethanol-metabolism.php The key pathway involves Alcohol Dehydrogenase (ADH) converting the ethanol first to Acetaldehyde and then aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDH) converts this to Acetic Acid (which in your cells is Acetate). It has been 37…

You found the right person, FF123. I am a Chemist, a Ph.D. no less:bigsmile: Alcohol is different from the rest of those food groups in that when it is burned, it produces a certain amount of heat, which is reported in Calories. Unless one is drinking straight grain alcohol, a mixed drink, beer or wine will also have…

I am 57 and have lost 30lbs (since 9/27/12, started at 365lbs!) for bariatric surgery qualification. Now that I have qualified, I don't want the surgery. I am so amazed the relative ease to lose weight if you track what you are eating. Of course, you have to be honest, or you won't lose! For me, I reduced carb intake to…
