Thanks everyone. I'm glad I'm not the only one- my friends think I'm crazy when I mention it.

Take me for example. I was VERY sedentary a month and a half ago. I have a treadmill. At first it was a struggle for me to walk 2.5 mph for even 30 minutes. Now I'm up to 3.0 mph for 60 minutes a day, and I'm going to have to increase my speed because it's getting a lot easier for me. So if you keep at it every day, even…

It was so bad here that a local university closed for two days because they had more than 300 students sick with it. I hope you feel better soon.

You don't need it. If you do what it says on their website, WITHOUT taking that over priced snake oil, you will lose weight. Which is, namely, eating a healthy diet at a calorie deficit and exercising.

I literally just had this conversation with my husband. I was saying that I still have quite a few calories to eat today (I'm in the US, central time). He said I shouldn't eat too close to bedtime. Thanks to the knowledgeable people here, I was able to tell him that it's simply not true.

Thanks guys! I will definitely check those sites out. And a bonus for me- I was just looking for something and found a Simply Pilates workout DVD and book that I had bought a year ago and forgotten about! It was like Christmas.

1. Eat more 2. Turn off caps lock BECAUSE YOU ARE SHOUTING IN MY HEAD 3. Take the advice of the good people here who have been successful

I found this site helpful. But you'd still have to measure the finished product and come up with a serving size, as the others have said. http://www.livestrong.com/article/510434-how-to-calculate-the-serving-size-in-recipes/

I hate my belly too. I look perpetually pregnant. I have a serious apple shape going on. It's like most of my excess weight is in my belly.

I'm suffering right there with you. We didn't ask to be grammar police, we were born this way. We can't help it. But seriously....one of the main impressions you get of people online, of whom you have never seen and converse with unseen, is their spelling and grammar. I get a picture in my head of someone whose spelling…

I myself never get hungry until I've been up a few hours. Then I just have a light snack until lunch time. Everyone's eating habits and times are different, and that's okay.

Thank you.

I think I worded it wrong, or I got confused. Of course my BMR doesn't change, unless my weight changes. The other numbers I was throwing out were the amount of calories I would need per day (sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, etc). Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you for explaining it.

My goal is set at one pound a week.

Yes, this. I would avoid fiber right now.....it will just clog you up. Wait until you can go. Call your doctor!

I truly believe that regular exercise is what made me able to wean myself to the lowest dose possible of the medication I take for my bipolar disorder. Exercise releases the endorphins which will make you feel good! I realize that when you're in a depressed state you don't feel like doing much of anything. So just force…

You don't know how many times I've seriously considered bringing mine when we go out to eat!

In my undies, after my morning coffee. If I don't drink my morning coffee first I would probably fall off the scale. Always the same routine.
-
One word: Spanx I don't have a muffin top. I have a three-tier wedding cake going on.
-
Coffee is my "weapon". I drink a cup around 3. I drink two a day (one in the morning and one at 3). It's a great appetite suppressant for me.

I tried taking topamax about a year ago. I had horrible side effects (like suicidal thoughts). I honestly thought I was going crazy. My doctor told me to stop taking the topamax. The relief was almost immediate. I think my side effect is rare, but it's one, nonetheless. Track your moods and behaviors while on this drug.

Me too.

My only advice would be to track everything you eat, even if you go over. It's no big deal to go over, but you need to log everything and get into that habit. It helps you to develop good eating habits.

Buy a good digital food scale that measures ounces, grams, fluid ounces. Use it!

After a (surprise) pregnancy at the age of 41 that required a c-section, I have given up all hope of getting rid of my pouch. I won't stop trying, though. And my son was worth it.

I take it because I'm at a high risk for skin cancer and therefore can't be exposed to sunlight for very long. I've been taking it for several years now. I can say that only since the beginning of January when I started counting my calories and exercising on a regular basis did I begin to lose weight. So no- definitely…

I have the grilled trout and green beans when I go to Longhorn. They have a menu section that's called 500 calories or less (something like that). Where they prepare the entrees in a healthier way. If you went over, it's not the end of the world. Take it from someone who did last week and bounced back.
