I made some room in my calories
Today, for the first time in over two months, I had Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Oh. My. God. I love them so much. My question for you all is- when you allow yourself a special treat, how do you do it? Because I told my 5 year old son that he needed to leave me alone! I was like...this is MY time, MY treat, everybody go…

Losing inches, gaining weight
The good news is I'm slowly losing inches around my abdomen (which is where I carry most of my excess weight). The bad news is I've gained about 2 pounds in the last two weeks. I'm only doing cardio and Pilates at this time. I'm going to check out a gym either today or tomorrow. I didn't want to start at a gym until I knew…

What are the 5 things you're not supposed to eat?
I know it's a crock, but I see that stupid ad on the site constantly. So what are they? LOL

Cilantro vs. Parsley
I am one of the lucky people who can't eat cilantro. Well, I can, but it tastes like soap to me. Not very appetizing. Anyways, does anyone have experience substituting cilantro with parsley? There are so many recipes that sound good but they call for cilantro and that's a deal breaker for me. I figure since they're closely…

Someone who can't afford to go to a gym?
Joining a gym is not going to happen for me anytime soon. Can anyone recommend something like on youtube or another site that would show strength exercises that I can do? I don't even know what to search for, that's why I'm asking you all. Currently I'm just doing 60 minutes of cardio a day and an ab workout. I know I need…

Upping my calories-should I? Yet ANOTHER question
I seem to have come to a bit of a stall. My current weight is 182. I am 5'7". According to F2F my BMR at the sedentary level is 1636. I do an hour of cardio (in the fat-burning zone) every day. Yet MFP has me set at eating 1510 calories a day. My TDEE is 2386. I've read the road map post, I just want to make sure I'm doing…

This is a card you don't want from your child
A little motivation! ETA: it cut off. Beside the picture it says "you are fat". Here's the link: http://mmyhasptymouth.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/slide_276656_2021961_free.jpg

And this is why I love my food scale
Baked potato with dinner- weight prior to eating, 323 grams (it was a biggie). After I was done eating, I weighed what was left- 178 grams. I ate only 145 grams of my baked potato. Before I got my food scale, I would have put in the largest size potato I could find and that would be it. Seriously, for those of you who…

I just had a whoosh!
I weigh myself every day, but don't record it but once a week. Until this morning, LOL. I've lost 2 1/2 pounds since Thursday. That's a big whoosh for me! I recorded it because I got so excited. I hope it lasts!

In Walmart today and I saw
A display selling raspberry ketones and green coffee bean extract. :ohwell:

Pat my head and tell me it will be alright
I've been having a stellar week- lost not one but two pounds, stayed right at or under calorie goal, exercising like a champ. And then along comes today. Got a migraine, haven't exercised, and with my food for the day accounted for (except for whatever I'm going to have as a snack) I'm about 600 calories OVER. So you…

Does this happen to you?
Hope I do this right.

Please tell me if this calculator is correct
http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm I have a HRM, but can't understand the readout for the calories burned. It seemed impossibly high. So I entered in the data on this site (gender, age, weight, average heart rate, duration) and it gave me a number for calories burned. Now I know I'm way out of shape, but this is even…

Are you choosy about your calories now?
I know I'm choosy over my calories. I feel like I have a certain amount of money to spend each day, and I need to spend it wisely. I don't want to waste my "money" on junk. I'm so glad that I've made this transition. I've tried to lose weight before but never really got this concept.

What do you think of this diet?
.... never mind

Has anyone dealt with costochondritis?
Which is a fancy medical term for the swelling and inflammation of the muscles between your ribs. Yesterday I had such horrible pain under my right breast, shooting through to my shoulder blade. I really thought I was having a gall bladder attack. But the x-rays showed my gall bladder was fine, and the doctor diagnosed me…

Coconut oil
I bought some organic coconut oil today for my skin and hair. While googling it, I came across an article on the Huffington post which claimed, among other things, that consuming coconut oil would boost your metabolism. Of course it didn't say how much you would need to consume? Anyone heard anything like this? Or is it…

Going out of town for the first time since starting
I'm scared! LOL! I'll be in a casino (poker tournament, wish me luck!) and my only source of food will be either their buffet or some kind of grill with hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Are there any tips you can give me? Like measurements- if it fits in your hand, it's a certain amount- things like that. I'm not going to be…

Question about BMR
So I am new. I've read alot here and learned quite a bit. One thing I need clarification on- I should at least eat at my BMR level? Even though I've got my MFP goals set at losing 1 pound per week and it says I should be eating 1420 calories (my starting weight was 195, I'm down to 189 now), my BMR is anywhere between 1609…
