I only run at the end of spring, summer nights, and beginning of fall. Otherwise....i went out and bought an elliptical just so i didn't have to ever set foot outside in winter except to go to work or college. Or if the kids want to go outside, but they're tweens/teens and all they ever want to do is play video games. Ha

I hate Brussels sprouts...i feel like i would like them if i could find the right way to cook them, but I'm still searching..... Funny, when i was 4 i loved canned tuna weight peas. Can't even stomach the smell of canned tuna now. I also hate clams and oysters...reminds me of swallowing a slimy ball of rubber. Can't stand…

Maybe you should into body recomp or a heavy lifting program. Switch to eating at maintenance and focus on building muscle. I think there are a lot more people better qualified here than i am to give better, more specific advice, though, so wait for the weight lifting experts to step in (i lift weights, but only to…

Mfp is set up so you plug in your stats, choose the proper activity level (this doesn't include exercise), and it gives you a base amount of calories. You log exercise separately, and most people eat back 50-75% of calories burned because mfp burns are usually way too high. If you want to use mfp, give it a shot to do its…

You can look up low impact workouts on YouTube, Jessica Smith (i think that's her name?) has great ones. I used hers when i tore my acl and lcl in October of 2014 and was out of commission for MONTHS. fitnessblender is good, too. Walking outside wasn't as bad for me as treadmill, but i had to walk really slowly....lol

That's a creepy emote. Didn't realize until now, lol

Increase in water consumption typically encourages your body to release water weight. But yup, sudden diet changes can increase weight temporarily. Honestly, if scale weight bothers you, maybe give it a week and then weigh in, see what happens. If you're still gaining weight, come back and mention it and we can help you…

Funny thing, i have a Fitbit one. So just a step tracker, sleep tracker...no hrm. I wear it in my pocket so i don't lose it. I wanted someone to see what step count I'd hit without it changing when i walked over to him, so i held it perfectly still in my hand and walked without moving my hand or arm at all, and it still…

You, know, what's; even worse? Not reading. The whole, original post, before; jumping in and, bashing prospective, commenters. I got. real mad the other day when; i saw that in one thread. "The blog of unnecessary quotation marks"....I'm a communications major, English minor, and i have thought about starting a blog like…

Actually, sounds like life is pretty good. Unless you're freezing, that is...

I wear corsets because i like how they look. But i have never in my life experienced weight loss because i wore one. The only thing that helped me lose weight (once i got medical issues cleared up) was watching calorie intake vs expenditure.

I work in fast food, 4 10-hr shifts or 5 8-hr, and my personal activity level on days that i work is actively very active, although i didn't know until i got my Fitbit. It won't hurt to set your activity slightly lower unless you don't have enough energy to fuel you through the day. Losing faster, while you might like it,…

It could be a glitch. I have also noticed that higher sodium will give me that type of prediction, so you could have just had a higher-sodium day.

^^agreed. Also, I've noticed that if i pig out one day, i won't see an increase on the scale for 2 or 3 days usually, then another 3 or 4 days to have it come off. I also weigh once a day, first thing in the morning, (i weigh without clothes but if you do wear clothes, wear the same thing every time)...although I've gone a…

Off topic as well: i used to have the patience to explain the same things over and over and over, but then i lost it....

My kids are 12 & 10 and don't understand the concept of privacy....unless it's the older one in the bathroom, then he does. Lol! I wear nothing when i weigh myself, though.

Outshine frozen fruit or fruit & veggie bars are around 50 cals each and really good. Sugar free jello is 40 cals for the entire box, lol. Most lollipops... For the most part, i plan everything into my day. Lately I've been making my own almond milk hot chocolate, a cup is just under 100 cals, takes awhile to drink, and…

I cook eggs in the microwave (or hard boil them), eat a yogurt cup and sometimes a protein or granola bar, and I'm good for hours (which is great considering i get up at 3 am for work and don't usually get a break until 10 am or after). A homemade egg muffin is easy too, buy come Canadian bacon and cook it while your egg…

I like the healthy choice streamers (pineapple chicken and a few others), and i like the Boston market turkey medallions one. Sodium is pretty high but I'm okay with that. Frozen dinners come in handy when i only have an hour between work and classes and I'm at my friend's house 2 hours from home...life savers, otherwise…

I absolutely refused to put anything in my kids' bottles except for formula or milk. I always said If babies were ready to eat solid food, they could eat it from a spoon. With a sample size of 2 (lol) both my kids are at a great weight and stop eating when they are full. Who knows, they may have been this way even if i had…

I make chicken noodle soup and chicken stir fry with mine, most often. Sometimes i make chicken chili or a casserole with chicken, rice, veggies, and homemade cream of celery soup (or cream of mushroom)

I also resolve not to argue with people who come through the drive thru at work and complain that McDonald's portion sizes are too big and that's why we have an obesity epidemic. No, moron, we have an obesity epidemic because you can't be bothered to drive across our parking lot and go to walmart to buy food and take it…

Personally, I'd take the day off. Or you could just get up and walk around your house more. It does burn more calories, you could time yourself if you really feel like logging it, but otherwise it would just be like a few extra bonus calories burned if you stick to your deficit. I don't know your calorie goal or deficit,…

1. I will not even answer any "starvation mode" comments. 2. I won't eat either of my kids's 2 lb rice krispies treats "fun sheets"....but i will partake liberally.

I only have one more thing to add to this: i had a very good friend who had sleep apnea, and he died from it when he was 23. Just quit breathing one night and didn't wake up to start again. Pretty devastating for everyone involved, and i strongly urge a sleep study....not just to stop the noise that's keeping you awake.

If it doesn't seem feasible to you to do that style of eating, i would recommend not doing that type and just watching your calorie intake as best you can instead. If doing that doesn't work, make better choices to help you better count calories. Calories in vs calories out is what helps you lose weight, it doesn't matter…

I have a white noise app on my phone for when I'm away, but i just use a fan at home. The machine i used to have was a combination with a clock; all it does is play whatever sound you choose that doesn't have much variation. My phone app has options like heavy rain, light rain, thunderstorm, flowing water...no loud ups or…

I started at 220, put in lightly active because of my job, and ate back most of my calories from running. My base was 1450, usually gained 200 calories from exercise, so 1650, for a deficit that equaled2 lbs per week. I lost a lot of weight quickly, then got a Fitbit and realized my job is considered active to very active,…

Easiest way to determine calories is actual weight ÷ serving size, so 46 g ÷ 40 g = 1.15 servings. This works for anything you find in the database that has grams as a serving size. I use a medium banana (118 grams) in the database, weigh the banana i eat, then divide actual weight by 118 and usually get around .95 of a…

This... I'm down to around 30 lbs to lose and If i set my goal for 2 lbs a week, mfp would tell me to eat 1200 cals/day but i would actually need to eat less than 1000. I'm unsure whether i can even stick to a pound a week with only 1310 calories...I've never eaten so few calories before, lol. Even linked to Fitbit, i…
