  • Heart rate monitors on gym equipment are rarely ever accurate, if you don't have heart rate monitor just take your pulse for 10 seconds while exercising and multiply by 6 to figure out your true heart rate. I am in my 30's and when I work out hard my heart rate will get to around 150, I don't think 128 is high at all for…
  • Lambrusco (especially the Riunite) is a generally a sweet wine which is why I thought the 3 oz portion made sense, bottom line is that there is no way there is only 98 calories in 8 oz. But yes it can be very hard to find accurate information on calories in specific wines. It is not required by the industry to provide that…
  • That doesn't seem right, I looked and saw that was for a 3.3 oz portion. You can only go so low in calories on wine, it is what it is. You could do a wine spritzer and mix your favorite wine with sparking water (plain or flavored) or with diet soda and it would cut the calories a lot and you would still be able to enjoy…
  • No more guesstimating, you need to weigh and log everything. For me this is the only way to lose weight and be accountable. You can still have the "bad" foods, just log them and stay within your calorie goal. I thought I was making fairly healthy choices until I started logging and realized how many calories I was eating,…
  • No way to bringing the scale and measuring cups. You know what foods are good choices, just make the best choice possible and you will be fine! Enjoy your trip!!

  • Tj Maxx, Ross or Marshalls are all great options for cheap bras, usually $14.99 and under. They usually have good brands too, Maidenform, Warner's, Calvin Klein, ect.

  • Generally about 10-12 calories per minute if you are working hard and staying consistently active.
  • Marinated New York Steak with garlic butter, parmesan polenta, sauteed mushrooms and green beans.
  • That is so awesome, that is a huge victory. You have to live your life for you, people are going to have an opinion no matter what, you can't let it stop you from enjoying yourself.
  • Good for you! I have fibro too and I know how hard it can be when you are exhausted ALL the time. I am not sure if you have ever tried cutting gluten out of your diet but I recently just tried it and it has helped so much with my symptoms. I knew it was something that could help but I was too stubborn to try for a long…

  • To add someone click on their picture and it will pop open a new box, click on their picture again in that box and it will give you the option to add as a friend. :)
  • I have that problem spot too! I agree the best plan of action is just losing weight over all, but any exercise that works your thighs is also going to work that area. Squats, lunging or kicking would all be helpful.
  • There are about a zillion free cardio workouts on YouTube, every variety, length and style you can imagine.
  • I don't think it is too extreme, probably the worst thing that will happen is that you will get sore. Just rotate through working different body parts and I think you will be just fine. Just listen to your body and take it easier the next day if you are hurting.
  • If you have a 6 oz portion of just about any meat (chicken, fish, beef) you are going to get above 30 grams of protein in your meal. Add beans or quinoa and you will have even more protein. Broccoli and spinach are both high in protein for veggies.
  • I struggle with this too, but my body responds well to a higher protein diet. I have a protein shake for breakfast, this is an easy way to get at least 20 grams of protein quick. Then I have to make sure I have plenty of protein in my lunch, dinner and snacks to get to 100 grams daily. Planning ahead is key. You also have…
  • I like Vega, they have it at Target (and I am sure a gazillion other stores) and it is not that expensive and I think it tastes pretty good (I put mine in unsweetened vanilla almond milk with strawberries and spinach). I could NEVER drink any protein powder in just water, I don't care if it has less calories it is just too…
  • You could have a powder with Inulin (chicory root fiber), it is the same thing they put in lots of foods like all the Fiber One stuff, yogurts, smoothies, ect and if you are sensitive to it, it can wreak all kinds of intestinal havoc on you. I know it does for me, but of course everyone is different.
  • Way to go, what an accomplishment. You and your girlfriend make a beautiful couple, congratulations!
  • I understand how you feel, especially if you have a low calorie target (mine is 1400) you find yourself constantly thinking about your choices. You really do have to put a lot of thought into what you eat and plan ahead. Going to a restaurant can be an nightmare if you are truly trying to stay within your goal. I got tired…
  • I am a wine lover too, but have had to cut back. I drink maybe half the days out of the week (just a glass or two). Your body burns alcohol calories before it burns anything else so it can slow down your weight loss. Good plan to just stick to two days a week, something to look forward to right?

  • By the way, does anyone know how to update your post without hitting the quote tab I just found my original post and copied and pasted it into my new reply.

  • I am no stranger to this site, I lost 60 lbs around 4 years ago and maintained for a while but have now dug myself a hole again. I am super motivated and on here daily. Feel free to add me!
  • I have a cheap old Nutribullet and it works great.
  • I agree if you are adding exercise just using MFP the burns are generally WAY too high, I used a heart rate monitor for years and it was very rare that I could burn more than 10 calories per minute (that is doing intense cardio) so as long as I am working hard that is usually what I base my exercise burn off of. Of course…
  • I am in the same boat, I am really focusing on upping my protein intake which can be challenging, you really have to plan! I lost 60 lbs in the past which I am now working on losing AGAIN and getting a lot of protein was a big key to my success. I don't follow any specific diet plan but I do try to eat clean (make my own…
  • You look so beautiful and so STRONG. Incredible work, you are a major inspiration!!!
