I'm having pizza for dinner. It is within my calories, and unlike my olden days, instead of eating the whole thing, I will only have a couple of slices.

Personally, I do better with weight loss and staying within my calorie range if I eat breakfast in the mornings. Mine is usually just a yogurt or an overnight oatmeal during the week, but I like eggs on the weekend.

It's not a smart bottle, but I have a 30oz Yeti that has helped me increase my water intake because everything stays cold for hours.

I eat vegetarian. You are welcome to look at my diary to get some ideas. It isn't perfect, but I'm also not hungry in the afternoons. (Keep in mind I do eat my exercise calories back.)

I don't lie to my Dr, but my Dr dismisses me because I'm obese. I've gotten lectures for *not* having high blood pressure or diabetes or high cholesterol because of my weight.

I've been religiously logging for the last month. It has done wonders for me. The only person I'm hurting or lying to by not logging everything I put in my mouth is me. I really have to keep a watch on my sodium intake. I have imported lots of recipes I use all the time and I also like to import recipes I see on the…

During the week, my go-to is greek yogurt, or refrigerator oatmeal. Sometimes I have a boiled egg. On the weekends I'll sometimes splurge and have a fried egg with cheese and either salsa or avocado spread on toast.

I have to be very careful not to become obsessed with the scale. I have to keep reminding myself that my new way of eating is the reason my stomach doesn't hurt anymore. I know by logging my food every day that I'm within my calories and nutrient goals, and I'm moving more, I'm not hungry, or feeling deprived.

You are very lucky. My weight can fluctuate 5# or *more* in a day. Fluid retention sucks.
-
When I put away dinner at night I portion it into some individual serving dishes and go ahead and make my lunchbox.
-
Today I'm having tomato and artichoke gnocchi leftovers (made with whole wheat and sweet potato gnocchi) and baby carrots.

Thanks all!!

The avocado chia chocolate pudding sounds good!

A nutritionist in NY wrote a cookbook for her dissertation/thesis of nutritious meals for $4/day, because that is what the average person receiving food stamps in the US gets. The cookbook is in PDF form and is available free here: https://www.leannebrown.com/ I've looked at it, and the recipes are good. She also has great…

I'm having homemade hummus, wheat thins, baby carrots, and strawberries.

I, too, have considered WLS. But It requires life long commitment and discipline, IMO, more than with non-surgical weight loss. It isn't a quick fix-- statistically only 50% of the weight comes off after surgery for the majority. 4 women in my family and 4 friends have had WLS and seeing what they have been through and how…

Not a "new" product, but I recently read a review of olive oils and decided to try California Olive Ranch EVOO, after always buying the grocery store brand because it was cheaper. Oh. My. Goodness. That stuff is amazing. Definitely a case of "you get what you pay for."

I'm confused-- Is this directed at me? Because I actually *did* read past the title-- all the way to the end, as a matter of fact, and that is why I posted it.

Obviously you didn't bother to read the scientific review article I shared. OK.

Thirst can be mistaken for hunger, and usually by the time we realize we are actually thirsty, we are already dehydrated.

Artificial sweeteners play havoc with your body and can cause weight gain. There is science to back it up. http://www.haadi.ir/Upload/Image/2016/09/Orginal/57265ef1_a01d_4526_b45e_bab3d34c2c8b.pdf

I get lots of meal ideas from eatingwell.com, and the recipes are always tasty.

I've done both. Some people like WW because they benefit from the weekly meetings. When I did WW, I found the tracking to be complicated, difficult and time consuming, especially dealing with point values, etc. I like MFP because I never have to write anything, and hardly have to type to track my food, and it is very…

I have a 30oz yeti that I keep with me at all times. I fill it before I leave for work, try to fill it at least 2 times at work and at least once when I get home. As I weigh 250#, that amount is well within the recommended amount (of 0.5-1oz/pound) for my weight.

I just finished a book called "Mini Habits For Weight Loss". I highly recommend. Some suggestions to help let go of soda would be: 1) agree to drink a glass of water first 2) put off getting the soda for 10 minutes 3) think to yourself "I'll have water now, and have one tomorrow instead" (and then be OK with yourself if…

I've just made the change to vegetarian in the last couple of weeks. I will probably end up being a flexitarian or pescatarian since I do love sushi. ;-) But I'm taking it one day at a time, and getting lots of recipes from eatingwell.com. I also am trying to give up many ultra-processed foods. Seriously, though, I feel…

Hi, I'm Karen. I'm 51 and have about 90 pounds to lose. I've always been interested in running, but always found excuses not to. In March I was inspired by the story of the 500+ pound man who is committing to do a 5k a month. Blew my excuses right out the window. So, I have started hiking with my dog 2-3 miles every day…
