I'm not really trying to lose weight other than an inch here or there for my vanity. I've been doing 5x5 for 9-10 months and over that period I've gained about 5 or so lbs. but I've gotten smaller in some places and stayed the same in others. I carry my weight in my thighs and they've definitely slimmed. I noticed recently…

Lifted yesterday because I had company over Friday and Saturday. It just dawned on me that I struggled with OHP last time because I was doing 65 instead of 60. Oops! Squat 125 5x5 which was suspiciously easy. Going to stay here for a bit anyway. Row 80 5x5. I dropped it back to 80 because my form wasn't very good at 85. 80…

I was eyeing the half cage at Dick's. It looked pretty good for the price - has safeties and everything. I didn't care for their bar, though. I like sharp knurling and theirs didn't have it. Are you going to buy a bench as well?
-
You may never really know. You can make today your new baseline and tweak from there if you're not totally happy with yourself. Have you been tracking your food? Have you been at a deficit or maintenance?

I think he also said something about doing cross fit before doing isolation work like what I'm doing. I don't know, I don't listen to fools.

I finally filled out my form! LMK if you have questions.

Have you been diagnosed with CFS? I would suggest talking to your doctor. I don't have experience with it but I found a CDC article that says to not push yourself too hard or it will cause flare ups. They recommend breaking sessions up into parts so as not to over exert yourself and to start light and work your way up…

@dawnembers I hate the feeling of someone watching you even if they're trying not to. That guy that told me how to bench when I was doing rows bothered me again but it escalated this time. First I was squatting and he came over to the other rack, smiled at me and did push presses and push ups and some other rapid exercise.…

Squat 120 3x5 125 2x5. 125 was a little tough but I'll kill it next time. OHP 60 5,4,4,4,3 it was hard today but there was also a guy bothering me during it. More in the "so there was this guy at the gym" thread. Deadlift 160 2x5 one set sumo. I think I like sumo better. It helps me keep my back straight. I have long arms…

Be careful - incompetent bosses reflect poorly on the people under them.

I usually use the "as packaged" because the added ingredients I use may be different than what they suggest and my serving might differ, too. A whole package try is 2.5 x 200 cal. = 500 cal. add whatever you like then divide the whole recipe by your serving. If you eat half, divide the total by 2.

No. That calculation doesn't take any factors into the equation such as age, activity level, gender, height, lean mass, etc. Everyone that weighs 130 doesn't eat 1300 calories, me included. Calculate TDEE and subtract a percentage to lose a certain amount each week on average.

I did the workout of the week. Used a 20-lb dumbbell because that's what I have at home but I held the end like a kettlebell to do swings. I modified with push-ups instead of burpees because those rattle my head. At first I was like, "oh this is pie," but by the end with. All the push-ups, I was snorting like a bull and…

 No one was funny at the gym last night. I didn't do accessories, though, so my time there was short. I went home to do one of the fitness tests for the challenge group in here. I used a spare bedroom that only has a bed, a Persian prayer rug, and creepy child-size rocking chair in it so that I'd have carpeted…

@Deena_Bean if it doesn't go away with the season, it could be a food allergy. Food allergies can present themselves in ways other than full anaphylaxis to include anxiety, fatigue, rashes, restlessness, general illness, etc.

@canadianlbs I think you work at Initech from Office Space. Specifically the scene: One of the Bobs: What is it you DO here? Tom: I'm a people person dammit! I have people skills. I am good at dealing with people. What's the matter with you people?!

Did the timed test workout last night. I looked like I was convulsing doing the hollow rocks  You should have an all of the above option for the modification of that one lol. Doing the 400m, plank, and weighted test tonight. I'll measure and do the WOW Friday morning and have the sheet to you *only* a week…

Flexibility, unfortunately, is one of those things that you lose if you don't use. If you did yoga well before, it'll probably come back if you keep at it. The rules were funny because they're completely unenforced. They were posted above an out-of-the-way water fountain and I thought it was a joke. A lot of people use…

Squat 120 5x5 repeat Row 85 5x5 repeat Bench 90 2,3,3,3,2 repeat but better this time No accessories - just did the timed circuit for @krok's challenge. Will do the test tomorrow.

I mean, the meals are kind of similar to the Salisbury Steak Dinners of the era

Sign me up for that ham water. This is one of my favorite quotes from the Q&A because it's so science-y: "We only recommend apples during weight loss mode. However you will be best off to avoid any fructose sweetened item to maximize fat burn. Fructose may be low glycemic however it will stimulate the liver forcing it to…

Pshaw, that will make the back of my hands bulky  Just kidding.. trying it now at my desk with two regular rubber bands. Also, I have some calluses but they're not that bad. I kind of like them, actually.

The programs themselves aren't "for women," though. The MFP groups are - they're created by users here, not any company.
-
They are just MFP groups for women following those programs. They offer support like posting in the forum to get female friends that lift or are putting on muscle. The programs themselves aren't necessarily for women. New Rules does have a book specifically targeted at women but its premise is that women and men exercise…

There are lots of lifting groups on here and the following are pretty active ones that cater to women: Strong Lifts 5x5 for Women, Women Strength Training, and NROL4W. Are you following a program?
-
Are you talking about the ones that look like weight clips/thigh masters for your hands? I always see people in cubicles use those but don't know if they actually do anything. Have you tried chalk and mixed grip on deadlifts? I usually use mixed grip for my deadlift working sets but I always try one or two reps extra with…

Way to get back at it after @krokador . You're seriously so dedicated. That said, I hope you heal up soon. I was curious so I Googled and of course, there's a wikiHow for your clumsiness problem (LOL): http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Being-Clumsy

I only do a real de-load if I've missed at least a week and even then I play it by ear instead of doing the full -10% or whatever loss. I haven't lifted since Thursday but I can probably still handle the weights I was doing today when I get to the gym. But do listen to @canadianlbs and see how you feel while warming up.
