  • My running mix has a whole bunch of Nickelback and Theory of a Deadman.
  • I listen to "latest in Paleo" it's more of a health podcast but full of great information.
  • I love chocolate too. However, the only way I would allow myself to have chocolate was if it was dark chocolate. Start with the lower percentage -(or highest) and go up or down from there. I am comfortable with 88% and can eat a couple squares and then my craving is gone.
  • I usually eat a whole avocado 3x a week. My fat intake is usually 40-60% of calories a day. That and lots of protein keeps my cravings at bay and I find that I can skip a meal every 2-3 days.
  • Hi. Glad to meet you :). My diary is open and I am about 85/15. Love the lifestyle. It make so much sense.
  • I have an open diary. Add away. :)
  • Protein and good fats. That will help stop the nasty cravings.
  • Feel free to add me too. I have 2 kids -son 24 and daughter16. Soon to be separated and trying to figure that out. Started tracking in ernest May. Was tired of being overweight.
  • I am about 80/20 most weeks. The paleo lifestyle is about what works for you. If you are worried about going cold turkey, start eliminated one thing, then another. I also encourage you to keep a journal about how you feel after eating and then check again a couple hours later. Many dismiss the Paleo diet because its so…
  • I use only 2 types of oil- pure olive oil or coconut oil. Coconut oil gets used the most frequency. Everything from eggs to baking to using it on my skin and any cuts we may get. I have to say the anti microbial property of coconut oil is nice side benefit too. I caught a stomach bug a couple weeks ago but I never got real…
  • I started 4 weeks ago, did week1 for two weeks. Then got a nasty stomachs virus at put me out of commission for a week. Now I'm dog sitting my sister's husky. He thinks a light jog means he had to go all out. Needless to say I have to ease back in. C25K was great when I was doing it. That said I also lowered my total…
  • I found it all depends on how you prepare them. Like Brussels sprouts, you don't cook them till they are mushy. Toss with some olive oil and minced garlic and roast like 15 mins. I find I like a bunch of raw veggies with lettuce and some chicken to make a veggie bowl. Broccoli sautéed in a pan with coconut oil.

  • You Rock!!
  • While Im not new to MFP, I started in earnest in May. It was a real eye opener when you see just how much calories/sugar/fiber etc is in the food you are used to eating. Eating out is horrible for counting - that is all I wanted to do before, now I see how much you sacrifice and opt to eat in.
  • I think it really depends on the person, there are many opinions out there. Do your own personal research on gluten and why people think this and you can then understand where they are coming from! I personally tried gluten free for a month or so and the result was cleared skin, less bloating, less headaches, better sleep,…
  • Kettlebells. I love that they are different from lifting straight weights and I love the benefit of cardio and strength training. I also love that you can do 20 mins of swinging and be done for the day.
  • I'm Chris from Wisconsin and 46. I have struggled with the same 50# for the past 23 years. I was struggling with diet and then I dialed that in better. I wasn't exercising regularly. I would start and go for a couple days and then quit. I can't tell you how many times I started. I hate starting it is so hard. Right now my…
  • Yes - AWESOME!!!
  • 8track.com- Sunday morning mix
  • I too have started C25K using the iPhone app. However I did 3 workouts in a row before I realized it was 3x a week. Oh we'll ;) I think I will do the first week again to really get dialed in. I don't really like running but wish I could do it.
  • I use a julienne peeler (peeler with teeth to make ribbons). Love zucchini noodles instead of pasta, however the rest of the family isn't as interested. I usually cook them in a pan with some Kerry Gold butter or bacon grease. Top with some chicken and pesto and maybe some mozzarella. Yum!

  • Wow. Great job!
  • I totally understand. It is a personal journey and everyone has an opinion. If it was me, I would say that after much research, I have found what works for me and eating more is needed with the additional exercise. Something like that. That way you are sounding preachy just this is what I found that works for me.
  • I have started using YouTube to find some great workout videos. Love Fitness blender. right now I am doing the 5x5x5 workouts. I like to workout in my bare feet in the morning and these work great.
  • Favorite breakfast - eggs bacon and some hot sauce with avocado and tomatoes. Favorite lunch - a sardine salad with avocado instead of mayo (altho homemade mayo is the bomb) and cut up veggies or lunch meat roll ups with 1/2 slice of cheese and avocado. Favorite dinner - good flat iron steak and oven roasted broccoli or…
  • Love the blog everydaypaleo(dot)com she also has a cookbook . What I like about the Paleo cookbooks is that I have most things in my cupboard. I am not dairy intolerant or grain intolerant, but I could see the inflammation from these foods. Took them out and dropped 10 lbs in 2 weeks. Eating the meat, bacon, eggs, nuts,…
  • I have made this one and it is very good. Not as solid as a regular crust, however it is delicious.
