That sounded fab and tropical... Two things I want to be this summer, so I will eat that :)

My best advice about avocados is to eat them! Lol I don't care how you eat them, just do it! They are one of my all time favorite foods and the fat is the fat you need and will keep you from feeling hungry :) Sometimes I eat an entire avocado in one day and still stay under. A half an avocado is a fabulous snack for only…

I just cried reading your story! So happy for you and so much of what you wrote sounds as if it came from my head. You look amazing and you are reminding me why no matter how hard this is, I just gotta.keep.going. :)

Thanks! With this leg press I am on my back, and I have the sled set as short as it will allow me to, so that I really have to bend my knees. Depending on where I have my feet on the footplate I feel it working different muscles in my legs.
-
YES, YES it is funny! lol

I also forgot to add I agree about the fiber :) try oatmeal or 7 grain toast instead of eggos :) And if you make yourself a high fiber piece of toast spread with some real almond butter you got yourself a satisfying heart healthy breakfast :) Sigh... wish I could have toast!
-
Another one for Almond milk yay :) My FIL loves it

I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I don't care, it may help you. This is not about calories, it's about your heart health. I took a look at a few days of your food diary and a few suggestions I would make if you were my family member: Ditch the eggo waffles, find some sort of protein waffle or pancake you can…

Most conventional medicine regarding cholesterol is crap. My FIL's cardiologist had him on margarine, of all things. He would use margarine for everything. His levels were awful. I'm not saying you're as clueless as he was, but here's his story: After he ended up in the hospital for 4 days due to skyrocketing blood…

Edamame(soybeans) I snack on roasted ones, Chickpeas(Garbanzo Beans), Quinoa, Avocados, Tuna, Ground Turkey And agreed on vitamin C. Consuming vitamin C with iron rich foods helps your body absorb the iron and fortunately tomatos and citrus go very well with a lot of foods! Also.... sounds wierd but cooking in an iron…

YEP!!! lol, if you think you really have a problem with jelly beans definitely order some of the Harry Potter "Botts Beans" I think they are called... once you taste "Toe Jam" or "Ear wax" or "dirt" you will be cured of your habit forever! lol I don't think I've even been tempted by a jelly bean since I was forced to try…

It may or may not be a "binge" because thats pretty personal and only you know what constitutes a binge for you. that being said, maybe you just needed food. I just looked at your food diary and you needed to eat. Your blood sugar was probably low and your body was calling out for carbs. Don't worry about this one meal,…

I'm not an expert by any means haha, but I'm sure it probably does, but the repair of muscle tissue is probably only going to add a tiny bit to your BMR for the day, not enough to count. So I'm only counting the actual activity of lifting for a calorie burn, and thats only actively lifting, not time spent resting between…

That sounds interesting and possily helpful, but I am not able to visualize what you are describing lol

This is EMBARASSING but wth.... Here's my current routine... please keep in mind I am brand new at this, a weakling, a recovering lazy *kitten*, 35 and female. Rotary abs, full rotation - 60 pounds 3 x 8 Back extensions - 80 pounds 3 x 8 Leg press -- 140 pounds 3x8 leg curls - 55 pounds 3 x 8 leg extensions 45 pounds 3x8…

Thanks :)

Thanks :) and yep <Eater here lol

Yep I am! :)

Same here and yes I cut the diet pop as well and that has helped too! I only have the occasional sugar free jello or fudgesicle or the like if I'm having a really bad craving.
-
I do agree with getting rid of artificial sweeteners, to a point. I don't think they are the greatest thing, but they sure have helped me beat a sugar craving a time or two. But not every day. And I don't necessarily agree with the thought that you should eliminate them because they will keep you trained to want sugar.…

Cold turkey. Lots of water. Sugar free jello with sugar free cool whip. Fruit. I've been there. I was BAD. I could put down a whole box of 24 piece Godiva truffles in a DAY. I rarely have it now, and when it do I'm able to eat it in moderation. And I've been able to do this for a couple of years. Occasionally, and I mean…

Mines coming up in may and I'm thinking of getting a body media fit device. Of course I'll be getting it on my own as I'm 35. I'm lucky if I get a phone call from my parents!
-
Thank you! I'll check into strong lifts
-
Well yay! This is pretty close to what I'm doing both nutritionally and with the weights :) I've been adding 5 pounds to upper body and 5 pounds to lower body.
-
Sigh... I wish I could get my friend to wise up to this. She's broke but keeps shelling out money for this crap. And you know what? Shes always falling off track and bingeing. Shes replacing two meals a day with it. I know lots of people drinking it. And they tried to push it on me too. All so they could get it for free.…

Thanks, I want to check out that book and probably will when this semester is over and I have time to add yet another book to my studies lol
-
Which brings me to another question..... "desired rep range" ? How do I determine that? Also I paid for a personal trainer, but she has yet to keep our appointments and I'm not waiting around. I have *kitten* to get done! I really appreciate everyone's input.
-
Both! :)
-
It matters to me because I want to make sure I'm doing it right :) I mean, I think I am, but if the more experienced people than me here say "lower your reps to 6 max, with whatever weight you can handle", then that's what I'm probably going to try. I'm just sticking with the standard 3 sets of 8 reps, last two being very…

Is failure when you absolutely cannot do another rep? Thanks I'm so freakin clueless with this terminology lol
