Tdeecalculator.net Input your stats accurately and go off the figure they give you for cutting. (This is what I do) Or use what mfp tells you (if you input your activity level accurately) and eat back about half your excercise calories. Both of those are a good start and you can adjust if needed. Get a food scale and Weigh…

I do both. I bought my elliptical a few years ago and it’s a professional model that gives me a CRAZY burn and great resistance workout when I really crank up the intensity. It’s a True brand and I highly recommend them. But I really only use it if I can’t get to gym, because that’s where I do my strength training

42 and have been lifting on and off since I was 17. My goal is to stop letting excuses (life) get in the way, so that it can STICK. It’s my absolute favorite form of fitness. I’ve been on MFP since 2011, only starting to use it socially now, so feel free to add me!

Brains and reproductive organs... Yep, that about covers it.

It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. You have amazing definition and have obviously worked hard for it. If you want to do it, go for it! Contact a physique coach and make a plan

You work second shift? When I worked second shift, I was asleep by 2 am at the latest, and up around 9-10 am. What are you doing between the hours of 10 am and when you leave for work?

4.5 lbs and happy with it!

You should NOT be using cups for nuts. (Unless of course you’re playing hockey or something) Seriously though, nuts are super calorie dense and you absolutely have to weigh them. You could be ingesting several hundred more calories per week than you think. You need to weigh your nuts! And I’m laughing again.. sorry OP!…

I'm certain the catalyst for me was ramping my fat intake from 40 grams a day up to 80 to 90 grams a day, and trying to hit the daily values of potassium and fiber. I feel great every day (I eat 6 times a day in 2-3 hour intervals) and no longer have the constant hunger pangs. [/quote] Hitting the potassium goals are so…

I’ve been on here since 2012, just not very social with it! Trying to change that though, as I think it’ll help keep me focused! Way more productive than FB lol. So I’ll add ya

That took a lot of time for you to write all of that out, and I appreciate it. You’ve just given more detailed advice than any personal trainer I’ve hired over the years. It was thoughtful and extremely well written. Thank you

I’ve been on mfp since 2011, but not socially. I’m attempting to change that to help keep me accountable and use my social media time doing something productive lol. Feel free to add me

41, I’ve been on MFP for several years but don’t really use it socially. Beginning to think I need to change that! I have lost 17 pounds, but have plateaud for almost 2 years and really need to lose 15-20 more. Feel free to send me a request!

I don't think eggs ever sabotaged anyone aiming to quit sugar......

So true!

What you are describing is excercise bulimia. Even if its not intentional, that's what it amounts to. I'd suggest working with a personal trainer and nutritionist at this point, you are setting yourself up for some severe metabolic and endocrine damage if you continue on this way.
-
Anyone? I set mfp to lose a half pound per week. Added 300 to that number for breastfeeding and knocked 100 off for thyroid. Am I on the right path?
-
As far as your question goes, I'm typically the one who introduces new foods to others! Lol If you like the kale I'd recommend Swiss chard, especially rainbow :) it's not a cruciferous vegetable and tastes delicious. Almost like spinach but sweeter. To prepare rainbow chard, remove stalks and dice like celery, cut leaves…
-
Be careful with the kale and tofu with thyroid issues. Kale is fine if cooked but raw kale is a goitrigen because it's a cruciferus vegetable. And people with thyroid issues should also avoid soy as its a endocrine disrupted. Occasional consumption should've okay but definitely would want to keep it to a minimum :)

I have low and steadily decreasing t3. I recently read that there is concern over cardiac issues when prescribing cytomel that scares me about requesting a prescription for it. My vitamin d is okay but I'm anemic, does iron affect the conversion of ft4 as well?

Bumping to remind myself!

I'm going to add you too!

Okay so I think you're in need of some support for helping repair a damaged metabolism :/ I sent you an invite to the eat more to weigh less group. You may want to consider upping your calories gradually and it may take awhile. There is lots of good info in that group so I would start with reading the stickies
-
I used to do both and as my body fat percentage went down, I lost weight and my muscles started taking on a very nice shape. I'm pretty sure that's her goal as well. Not technically gaining muscle mass at this time

Thanks!

Can someone post a link to "ladies who lift"? Is it a group or a thread? I did a search and got a million different results

Forgot to mention, we are both 7 months pp :) Both recently trying to lose weight as in past month. I am nursing, she is no longer nursing. I didn't attempt to lose weight at all the first 6 mo as as I was worried about losing my supply. I'm eating, no worries here :))
-
No she's just scared because of everything she's been told. She's only been doing this since actively trying to lose weight. I don't suspect ED :) just bad info. She's post partum like I am.

Sorry, I've been hitting reply instead of quote. OP, feel free to message me if you have any questions. There are lots of people who like to be completely dismissive of thyroid issues. People like this will only make you feel worse. The fact is your Dr diagnosed you with an autoimmune thyroid disorder, along with a goiter,…
