There is so much sugar hidden in all foods that it is almost impossible to remove all of it. But I have really reduced the amount of obvious sugar (cookies, cakes, chocolates) that I eat.] I feel good about that

I recommitted to MFP last august and have lost between 25 to 30 lbs (right now I am struggling) I have 100 lbs to go. I am concentrating on getting past that 30 lb mark and breaking my barrier. WE CAN DO THIS
-
It is difficult when life gets in the way. Hang in there. like you said you did it before and you can do it again. when I came back to MFP last August I took tiny steps in the beginning. I tracked everything I ate to the best of my ability and I would concentrate on improving 1 thing a week until it became a habit.…

I hear water aerobics is good

when I was younger I wanted to lose weight just to wear a smaller size and look more attractive and be like other girls my age. I was never successful when that was the only reason. Now I am doing this to feel better, improve my health and be able to do simple things like walk around the mall without feeling exhausted or…

one of the things I recently learned on MFP is that in the reports section you can see your daily calorie intake over a week or 30 days or 90 days. Also being really good about keeping track of my personal data on spreadsheets. I took that information and found my average calorie intake. there are other reports too which I…

My goal weight is 25 lbs higher than the weight charts say I should be for my age and height. It is actually the weight I was when I first started dieting. When I look at very old pictures of myself I see that I looked very good even with the so called 25 lbs overweight. I have quite a way to go but I know I will get…

FANTASTIC you are an inspiration to me. 1550 days lagging in is great. I am on day 80- this time around. I was up over 100 days but I had some sickness also and did not login in a few days. Good Luck with getting back you health and your goal weight

so sorry to hear of your complications but I agree with others thank you for posting this. I know I will need skin removal surgery when I get to my final goal but I am also very concerned about complications. I will have to weigh carefully the risks of surgery because there are also risks from the excess skin. I appreciate…

so this is the issue - there is no such thing as going back to eating normally if you return to the same bad eating habits. MFP is a lifestyle change and it is normal. the maintenance part lets you add back in some calories but you can never go back to eating "normally"

some people have no social graces. they just blurt things out whether it makes sense or not. Congratulations to you

my father drank every day of his adult life until he retired. there was no change in his weight from when he was drinking and when he was not drinking. BUT he did not restrict himself to 1000 calories of food. he had a physical job and just managed to balance naturally his food alcohol and activity level. Most of us can't…

it's really not hard to eat healthy what is hard is portion control. Contrary to some opinions steak and potatoes are healthy just not in mass quantities. you don't have to eat just rabbit food to eat healthy

CONGRATULATIONS. great accomplishment

yum white chocolate is my favorite. isn't it great you can enjoy that on MFP

home made pork and mushroom spaghetti sauce on angel hair pasta and a tossed green salad.

If you look good and feel good and are healthy at that weight stay there. You are more than a number on a scale.

I feel for you. I am an emotional eater. I eat when I am sad, depressed, happy, angry, you name it. There are even certain food groups that are related to emotional eating. crunchy foods (like chips) are particularly good for anger. I learned these statement from one of the many diets I have been on and they help me. "if…

what motivates me? I have lost more this time than I have on many many diets in the past. I tell myself everyday I can do this. I am going to get to my goal. Do I have hard days? yes. I come here and read posts from others who have persevered and succeeded and had hard days too. I have a long way to go to get to my final…

yes that is why MFP is so great BUT you must control portion size and track what you are eating. I find that even though I know I can eat "junk food" it does not satisfy me as much as a good portion of protein and no matter how hard I try when I turn to "junk food" for comfort or whatever I do not eat at a deficit.

My sentiments exactly

I only have one complaint about weight loss surgery and that is the people who continually bring it up to me as an option because they know I have dieted forever. Weight loss surgery scares the heck out of me. I don't want it and if it takes the rest of my life to take of the weight I put on so be it. I have friends who…

I weigh every day. I don't worry about the fluctuations. I keep a separate spreadsheet on my laptop for the daily weights and I only report the losses on MFP. This helps me to see when I may be getting into trouble such as 5 lbs up is not just a fluctuation for me.

CONGRATULATIONS you are doing fantastic. I totally understand about the walking. I am slowly getting back to walking myself. I have trouble with my feet and knees. I force myself to do some things like walk around the grocery store instead of taking a motorized cart they provide. You will keep getting better and better at…
