i agree. forgive yourself and move on. every day is a new day.

I usually find my hungry days occur when I have not been getting enough protein. I eat a nice juicy hamburger and if I go over my calories I don't worry about it. otherwise I will eat everything but the kitchen sink
-
I do that too. I also will eat celery or carrots something that takes a while to chew
-
getting up and moving is a good suggestion. I have to keep my hands busy. especially if all I am doing is watching tv to relax. I have to do something else too like be on the computer or crochet.

Unless it is a legitimate question from someone who wants to lose weight and wants to know more about how I am doing it, I give a smart azz answer like "because I can" or "because I'm the mom". They usually laugh and never ask me again.
-
I agree with you. I have tried some of the things you mentioned but find MFP to be the best for me.
-
yes I am in the club with you. Always hated the fact that men can eat more and lose weight faster. I don't compare myself to anyone anymore and I am much happier just being on here and doing things at my own pace.
-
every day if it fits in your calorie range and if you go over your calorie range forget it and make a better choice the next day.

a whopper jr is not as bad as a regular whopper. since you didn't mention it i'm guessing you did not have fries and/or a soda. Pat yourself on the back

I am surprised by this. This is the town I live in. I understand asking parents to send healthy lunches to school. I think the situation could have been handled better by the school. It's not like the mother sent only cookies for lunch. The child's diet should be between her parent and her pediatrician.

My daughter and I are proof that you can lose weight following MFP and not exercising or exercising a little. the fact is exercising does help with body function and when combined with eating at a calorie deficit can help a person lose quicker.
-
I weigh everyday but I only log my weight on MFP when I lose. I like to see the downward progress. I do keep my own spreadsheet to track the daily fluctuations. This seems to work for me. I don't get frustrated by the fluctuations and I I stay motivated by my overall loss. Welcome and good luck to you.

My goal weight is what I weighed when I first thought I was fat.

I hate people like that. My mother ate like that. I still have trouble doing it with most things. for me it is better to have none than just one. I have made one adjustment. I buy single serving sizes of things like chips, I eat the whole bag. If it is 2 servings per bag I still eat the whole bag and count the 2 servings.…

yes mfp will ask you if you want to recalculate your goal I only did it once. I started out over 1300 calories per day. when I said yes to recalculate my goal was set to 1280. I have trouble eating that low consistently. the next time it asked me if I wanted to recalculate I said no. I don't mind losing slower, and I don't…

Yes Jean did that. Too bad I did not follow her advice when I was younger.

I have gout also. Since I restarted MFP last august my gout flareups are not as bad. Eating better has really helped. John, the biggest thing I have done this time around is control my portions. I still love food but have learned that I do not have to eat a pound of steak. For snacks I buy individual size bags even though…

I started about there back in august of last year. I have lost between 25 and 30 lbs. I am not losing fast but I am determined not to quit no matter how long it takes. my goal is 160. Good luck to you. YOU CAN DO THIS

i have to lose more before people will notice but I know because my clothes are looser and I am wearing some things that are a smaller size. A few of my closest friends have told me they can see the loss when I mention it. I'm actually grateful that people don't say anything because they also don't way anything if I gain…

thank you moon_childxo and jellytot3 I will work harder at logging before I eat and checking mfp before I order at restaurants.
-
welcome aboard. weighing and measuring is important on MFP. I have a good food scale and I try to weigh everything and track in my food diary to the best of my ability. after a while you will get good at eyeballing a portion but it is still better to be as accurate as possible. If I can't find a brand name product I use a…

congratulations.

great job. I can't wait to say the words "I am in onederland

I can't identify with people who consistently eat under their goal. The only time I have eaten under my calorie goal is when I don't feel well.
-
like others have mentioned road trips used to be an excuse to eat junk food in the car. I am better now, I take fruit and low cal snacks but I also have diet soda not just water and I take something like popcorn that feels more like junk food but is not as bad as chips and cookies. I also buy individual serving sizes not…

I used to do skinny cow or weight watchers single serve ice cream bars or sandwiches. Now I also have single serve Klondike bars but they are 240 calories. for me it must be single serve I have a hard time controlling myself and getting only a half cup out of a large container

you can eat cake and still lose weight. It is all about portion control and tracking. Obviously you can't eat an entire cake or a whole Pizza.
-
you look great. CONGRATULATIONS keep up the good work I am sure you will reach your goal

It used to be my hips but now it is my stomach too.
