I've been using my Charge HR for about a month now, and love it! Much better than the Flex. I just figured out tonight that I can link my Charge to MFP, and actually did it. I'm clearly too dumb, though, to figure out how to actually make the device talk to MFP (to record workouts), and vise versa. Can anyone help? Explain…

Ummm... gotta be honest- you do look your weight. That said, you are making changes to become healthy, so who cares? Let's just make that your "BEFORE" picture. Take your measurements, too. You will hit plateaus and not lose sometimes, but having pictures and measurements will help keep you motivated. It's great when you…

I'd like to lose 30, but am pretty sure 10 is more realistic...

Great advice, Luke!

I have found that if I eat processed foods or fast food, even if I stay within my allowed calories, that I won't lose weight for a couple of days. Same thing with wine or beer. I think all the chemicals and preservatives in foods makes me hang on to the pounds. So, if I'm really trying to lose, I have to stick to fresh…

Unfortunately, it's the story of my life! I'm a flight attendant, have a really screwy schedule, and have to take 3 days worth of food with me on all my trips. When I'm successful, it's because I've been drinking lots of water and not eaten any airplane, restaurant, or processed foods. I have the hardest time when I go to…

OK. I readily admit that I have a hard time staying motivated all the time. I do really good logging and exercising for a while, see results, then slack off. Then I realize that my butt has started drooping, and that ***** of a scale is taunting me again. What really motivates me is seeing pictures of myself, especially…

I count it, as long as I have as much water as tea during the day, and it's not too strong. It IS a diuretic...

You're funny! What a way to look at it! I've lost a two year old child... so far. Hoping to lose a bale of hay. :)

Oh my gosh! I feel like you have been spying on me and reading my mind! We are totally in the same place, and I, too, have been trying to figure out why I sabotage myself. It's so dumb. I know what to do, and I have the tools to do it. I have friends and neighbors willing to walk with me. I spend a LOT of money on healthy…

I can relate, because nothing fits, even though I haven't lost much weight lately. Everything in my closet is really baggy, and I look really frumpy. I haven't had much luck finding anything at my Goodwill, but my friend does ALL the time. I think it's timing, and return visits, and I just don't have the patience. So I…

Unfortunately, I feel your pain. I'm trying to just not have bad stuff in the house, but even good things can be bad when you eat the whole box (like low-fat Triscuits). When I have time, I portion out my Triscuits (or whatever) into baggies so I'm more aware of how much I'm eating. Be sure to take the time to wash and cut…

I'm finding that even when the scale doesn't move, I'm getting smaller. Maybe not a lot, but enough to go down a size again in my work pants without losing a pound. Seems weird, but maybe we're gaining some muscle while we're losing, so it evens out...

I think it took almost 20 lbs. before people really noticed. But the people who have said something are the ones who know that I'm really trying. So I don't know if they really count. They could be just being nice- they ARE the same folks that have told me that I don't need to worry about the 30-plus pounds I've gained…

Wow! Well done! Inspirational!

I think you'll find that when you've been logging your food for a while, you'll figure out what stuff is "worth" eating on a regular basis. Things that you think are healthy, and may actually be in small portions, may turn out to be very high in calories. If you are going to try to stay within your calorie limit, you will…

I don't know if I have a "disorder", but I definitely feel your pain dealing with binge eating. As much as I plan, and as good as I've been all day, once the binge starts, I can't stop. I don't get it. I HAVE figured out that I make really bad decisions (eating-wise, that is!) when I stay up too late, when I've had a glass…

DON'T DO IT! I SO feel your pain, but I promise the urge will go away soon enough. Really. I'm almost at the point that I don't even want one when I'm drinking wine and my friends are smoking all around me. And that's big. Hang in there!

Wow! What a GREAT success story! I'm so excited for you- you have a new life! And your wife has a new husband- she must feel like she's cheating now! Keep up the good work, John!

I have to take enough food for three days to work, so I have a pretty big food bag. I use two of those headache-ice bags (from any CVS or RiteAid) to keep everything cold. They are easy to refill whenever I'm near ice. I grill pork tenderloins, and slice and portion them into baggies. They are GREAT cold, eaten right out…

First of all, you HAVE to realize that this is your mother's problem- you have done nothing to deserve this treatment. Nothing. Second, you have to know that you DO NOT have to endure her abuse just because she is your mother. Period. With that said, you need to get away from her, both physically and mentally. You know…

Whew! Glad you didn't cut me, Eric! I would miss you...

Y'all make me laugh!

Spaghetti squash. With some kind of doctored-up (lots of veggies) jarred pasta sauce. And a big ol' salad with lots of veggies. And wine. Of course, wine- because we'd be celebrating our new weight loss journey!

Yum! I just watched Giada make roasted veggie tostadas and made a mental note to do that. She used butternut squash also. Looked delish. Will make those for sure. Thanks!

How many calories would that be?

OK- not to minimize the problem- because it's a big problem that probably needs to be dealt with professionally- but some of these reply post are so funny I'm about to pee in my pants. I really appreciate a good sense of humor!

I don't know what Battling Bare is, but it certainly doesn't sound good. Stay very far away from it, and start hanging with MFP. The folks on this site are very supportive and encouraging. "Shop" around for friends on here that will make the weight loss journey with you. You'll learn a lot (probably) and become a Big Loser…

Run!!! And run before you get pregnant!!! Like Dr. Phil says: "The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior". And I know that to be true, because I have dated and married LOTS of different kinds of losers that I've made excuses for over the last 30 years. It's called being an enabler... RUN!
