Because it actually does. Yes, calorie input has to be less than calorie output in order to lose weight but you will feel a whole lot better and your body will function better if you get your calories from nutrient-rich foods as opposed to crap.

I wanted to run faster and longer. And I wanted to be in single-digit clothes again.

I didn't change my habits when I was nursing my two sons because I wanted to lose my baby weight. I didn't diet - I just ate healthfully and breastfed. I nursed both mine for over a year. I'm confused why, if you're trying to lose weight, you'd want to eat MORE calories. ???

Haters gotta hate.

You're a drug addict and so is your husband. Get yourself help and then get him help. No amount of dieting and exercise will make you healthy if you're drug dependent. If you have LEGITIMATE need, try alternatives to drugs, i.e. acupuncture

And regarding the whole "loose skin" slam from earlier on this thread - you don't avoid loose skin because you're eating more, you don't get it because you're young! Duh.

They're called HEADPHONES. LOL. :)

OK, I'm kind of over this. I'm tired of all these folks who think they're diet and fitness experts! Let's face it - if we were experts we wouldn't be here! LOL. There is no magic bullet. There is no magic formula. You just have to do your best. The REAL litmus test is what happens once you reach your goal. Hopefully by…

I'm a 5'3" girl and my BMR is actually 1249 so 1200 REALLY IS my magic number.

I eat the 1,200 MFP gives me (my BMR is 1249) and eat more on the days I run or do yoga which is just common sense. My TDEE is something like 1,900 but there is no way I would lose weight if I ate that many calories daily and I would probably even have a hard time reaching that. I only run 4 times a week and we all know it…

Google going from 5K to 10K. I did a few days ago and found a lot of good programs.

Everything you're saying says two things to me - 1) you're emotional age is about 16, not 26 and 2) you're not ready to commit to anything except a new pair of shoes.

You need to be around people to get into it. Zumba, yoga, pilates, etc. You love exercise - you just don't know it yet. :)

Shark! My kids love it. Tastes like chicken. The milder fish are shark, halibut, tilapia, flounder. The good thing about shark is it's really firm so you can throw it on the BBQ grill.

I thought it would be my face since that's the first place I notice any gain but my torso has gotten narrower. Maybe that's because I run(?). It's been 4 months and 23 pounds and I'm just now starting to see it in my face and neck.
-
How do you know? LOL. :)
-
Logically - if you have to go on MFP and ask for anonymous advice you have problems too big to solve here and are not ready to settle down. And, at 26, your clock IS NOT TICKING! That's just your stomach growling. If you were 36 your clock would be ticking. Connect the dots - if you have to ask these questions that is…

I saw Bob Harper (is that his name?) from The Biggest Loser on morning TV the other day and he's got a new program that is only 800 calories for women. I was floored. Now 1200 does work for me but I'm petite and I eat more on the days I exercise but when I heard that I couldn't believe an "expert" would recommend that to…

It's worked for me - 23 pounds since January. I run a 5K four days a week and do yoga a couple of times of week but I'm not a slave to exercise, I just don't want to be a gym rat. I'm only 5'3" and my BMR is something like 1140 so I'm comfortable with the 1200 and have never felt like I was starving. I've never been a…

My fall back is an apple and low-fat string cheese or a Baby Bell Lite. Protein and fiber. As a matter of fact, that's my dinner if I've had a big lunch. :)

Don't you love it? I had someone call me "small" at yoga this morning. And nobody has called me "small" since the 70s. And I can't believe I said that outloud. :)

Yes, but anything that can continue to highlight breast cancer is a very good thing. Let's face it - she's one of the most visible women on the planet. Anything that raises awareness raises money, and anything that raises money increases our chances of finding a cure sooner than later.

ACTUALLY - on GMA this morning the doctor said that now women are able to get reconstructive surgery for free. I had never heard that before and wonder if I misunderstood her or what.
-
Did the exact opposite - yogini first (for about 10 years) and then started running 2 years ago. I find them a perfect complement to each other. But - be careful! You can hurt yourself doing yoga as well. Listen to your body.

FABULOUS!

Sexy.

You'd be surprised how fast a 5K rolls by when there's lots of people to watch and you're in a supportive atmosphere. Just remember that everybody there as been in the EXACT same place as you and GOOD LUCK!!!!

I never eat my exercise calories back. I think it's counterintuitive.
