I think hesitancy is actually a good thing. You should eat consciously. I know when I stop thinking about it is when I get the dreaded "weight creep".

I did C25K about 4 years ago at the age of 52. It is totally achievable. Keep up the good work and the good form. Let me tell you - you WILL get to the day when you cannot believe you thought 5 minutes was ever hard. You WILL get to the day when a 5K will be a piece of cake and 30 minutes (or less). You WILL get to the day…

You're basically going around in circles. Exercise would help these "monkees in your head" to shut up! LOL. BUT, you have to take the first step. Maybe you're getting anxious about what you think you will look like while you're exercising. I had a girlfriend a long time ago who wouldn't even go for walks with me because…

I run in Brooks Glycerin and they're about $130. Find what you like and then buy on-line. You'll save money and you won't get talked into buying what the running store is "pushing". I ran in pain for years in Nikes because that's what they recommended at my local running store. Brooks changed my life. If you're a heavier…

Banana between breakfast and lunch and an apple between lunch and dinner. If I'm starving I'll add a piece of cheese to the apple or a slather of peanut butter.

How old is she? Is she one of the twins? As a parent with children on the spectrum, it's really easy to always look for symptoms in other children. \I would mention it to the pediatrician or to your sons' doctor of you're concerned. I don't know if girls with milder symptoms present differently than boys do but she could…

Call me crazy, but maybe you should just ask her what she thinks and tell her you don't want to waste your time if she's not interested. There are nice ways of saying it. Just tell her you're getting mixed messages.

I always do it on an empty stomach too. This isn't rare - in fact, I can hear my instructor's stomach growling when she walks by me. :)

Not in my experience. I ran for years thinking it would make me lose weight without dieting. It didn't. Wasn't until I dropped my calories to 1200 a day that the weight started to fall off. Exercise will help you maintain your ideal weight but it won't get you there all by itself.

Pink is such a cliché. I actually think that's the most insulting part. My kettlebell (from Sport's Authority) is neon green. I avoid pink in running clothes too.

I don't have a butt either and I run and do yoga. I suggest this is just your natural shape. And remember a lot of women would kill for our problem. If you ever figure it out, let me know. LOL. :)

I have somewhat oily hair and wash every day anyway and always have. I have stick straight, fine, thin hair and it's matted flat to my head if I don't. I can't believe there are people on this thread who only wash their hair every couple of weeks. I hate to think what I'd look like!

Cooking doesn't increase calories, per se, but it does change volume. For example, one cup of cooked carrots weighs in at 156 grams while the same amount of raw carrots weighs 128 grams. The difference is only like 15 calories but I guess over time that could make a difference to some people. So I guess you need to invest…

Try running again. I used to hate it too even though it was something I had always wanted to try. I waited until I was in my early 50s(!) and now I love it. Couch 2 5K changed my life. Full disclosure - I didn't lose a pound just running but then when I added MFP it started falling off. I WISH I would have started running…

3T good olive oil, 1T red wine vinegar, 1t Dijon mustard, a little salt/pepper. Shake. I got it out of a Martha Stewart cookbook years ago.

My goal is to just make it back to class. I quit after about 9 years of loyal attendance because I let another student in my favorite class get under my skin. I practice at home but it's not the same. My core is suffering, as is my posture.

My Aspy baby is 23. He's a beautiful young man with a HUGE heart. I love how you described your baby! :)

Why would you rain on her parade? Lots of people eat pastries regularly and don't have weight problems, i.e. the entire population of France. I actually know several pastry chefs (I live in a town with three culinary schools) and none of them are fat.

The 300 pound nurse is a closet eater. And the skinny 28-year-old does a lot more exercise than you think she does.

If your husband won't eat eggplant or zucchini, he sounds pretty normal to me! To men and kids those are pretty exotic vegetables. And buy yourself a salad book. There is MUCH more to salads than tomatoes and much more you can do with pasta (or whatever you're cooking) than put tomato sauce on top. How old is the child?…

I'm not going to count anything on a holiday! I'm going to run in the morning and then drink and EAT and enjoy my family! LOL. And then run the following day. If you're already worried about it then you're a little OCD in my opinion. No offense.

Completely agree with rduhlir above. I started running about three years ago but didn't lose a pound until I started MFP and educated myself about what I was putting in my mouth. Diet and running and a powerful tool. I lost 25 pounds in about 4 months and it really wasn't all that difficult. Congrats for taking the first…

Thank you all so much for your responses and great ideas! Namaste.

He sounds like an idiot. You can do better. :)

I used to like clockwork. I'm thru menopause, thankfully, but it used to really chap my a**! LOL. And the really bad thing is that I would eat like a truck driver the week and half before I started - I would be literally STARVING all the time. My periods were irregular, in fact, and I would know I was going to start when I…

Raw with dip is the way to go for some veggies. There are veggies that I can't stand cooked but LOVE raw, like broccoli. Roasting carrots, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower in the oven with a little olive oil and salt/pepper brings out their sweetness. Get a vegetarian cookbook. Vegetarians know how to make veggies taste…

I think you have to be careful all the time. I tried that "diet all week and then on the weekends eat mindfully" approach and I routinely gained 2-3 pounds every weekend. Water weight? Probably. But it was still really annoying every Monday morning when I hopped on the scale. I felt like I was gaining and losing the same…

I've never chafed but I wear compression shorts and big, fairly loose Under Armour tops over. Sounds like you're wearing appropriate attire. Some people chafe regardless because their skin is just delicate. Check out Body Glide at your local running store.

I run at 5:30 or 6 In the morning when it's really hot outside (like now) which means I get up about 4:45 so I can down my coffee and wake up a little before I go. I've ALWAYS been a morning person so it doesn't bother me. My husband gets up at 4:30 or so and works out in our basement. Once it becomes a habit you pretty…

Ebay. I refuse to spend a lot of money on clothes.
