+1 I also try to plan where to eat & looking at menus prior so I have an idea of what I will eat. Have fun!

Pizza Chips and Rice So tempting to the spirit Logging gives balance

First of all congrats on reaching your goal. Second, if I learned anything from this whole journey is that one simply can't base one's maint. calories on others as everyone is different! Height & Weight alone doesn't account for body frame & activity levels. Best suggestion is to figure it out for yourself using your…

Yay for fellow Ohio-ian. Welcome to MFP!

Hello & Welcome to MFP! Try easy food swaps. ie. Instead of white bread go whole wheat. Instead of milk chocolate go dark cocoa dusted almonds. Instead a big serving of mashed potatoes or rice try quinoa. There's really just no quick, magical fix. Take a survey of what you are currently eating, pick one item that you can…

Try increasing the intensity of your cardio not duration. That's what helped me break through my plateau. Good luck!

CONGRATS! Not sure what kind of ideas you're looking for. Continue to set goals for yourself to help you stay focused. Make these fitness goals instead of weight loss ones. Or beating the statistics of over half will regain what they lost within a year. etc. Goals helps.

+1 I lost 38 lbs on 1200. Have been maintaining at 1300 - 1500 for 20+ mths.

Because there is no 'finish line' per say to maintaining what helps me from being overwhelmed with the thought "OMG I have to do this for the rest of my life" little panic attack is to continue to have goals. Instead of weight loss goals now I have various fitness goals. Currently I am working on upper body definition.…

Please also take into account one natural body frame. Someone who is slender at 5'9" may be less than someone who is more stocky at 5'9" Both can be at their personal healthy (happy) weight but body frame is one thing that can not be changed. SO if you are more stocky frame don't drive yourself crazy trying to compare…

I think this derives from many failing to simply understand the difference between naturally (genetically) scrawny (but flabby) and well defined muscular slender. I typically just respond with a polite smile and let them fester in their misguided notions of how to lose weight & keep it off or what healthy life really is.…

+1 It may not be the booty you had but a firm & tone bum will look fantastic in leggings!
-
ROFL!! Same here ... I feel like I have a fit slim body and a Bobble Head stuck on top on my shoulders at certain angles.
-
I actually looked into this see article HERE What I've concluded about reverse dieting is that it is mostly intended to those who are willing to invest the time to strength train (lift heavy) ... either because they want to increase overall muscle mass, body building, or body sculpting for physique competition. I have also…

First of all congrats! (*) I think your question is a fairly common one and it is not that different to when people ask how to lose weight ... there is NO one-blanket answer that fits everyone. This is a highly individualized path so the simple answer is it all depends on your personality and lifestyle. Some people after…

First of all congrats!! You should be proud! (*) Secondly, another MFP pal & I have often discuss the often side effects of weight loss no one seem to speak of. When one loses a dramatic amount of weight and keep it off, the sometimes & unfortunate side effect is it's impact on the social dynamics. We've concluded…

Interesting timing for this question ... I think it largely depends on the source of the sugar. ie. fruit vs. juice. Ck this new WHO Sugar Intake recommendation HERE

What are your experiences with maintaining your weight? I believe the key is the transition. The smoother the transition from weight loss to maintaining the more likely to keeping the weight off. Whatever eating regiment or activity routine during weight loss should seamlessly be carried over to maintaining with tweaks.…

Are you loosing weight or maintaining? This forum is for those who have already reached goal. If just starting to lose try GET STARTED or INTRO forums

Wrong forum Try GENERAL DIET & WEIGHT LOSS HELP for a more robust response

I don't know of any pre set available - maybe some other long term maintainers would be able to chime in. However what I personally do is save each combination of foods as MEALS. A bit of a pain initially but once its there logging food is 2-3 clicks. Easy Peasy! For example: My M-F Breakfast Consist of:* 1/2 Whole Grain…

+1 The primary side effect is probably weight regain. As many people in maintenance finds - losing is the easy part comparatively speaking. Maintaining the loss for X period of time lies the true challenge. If a eating plan is too extreme and cannot be maintained for the long haul then the probability of keeping the weight…

+1 Eyeballing things is what got me fat in the first place so I weigh EVERYTHING before consumption. And despite what some preach, personally I do not believe that 1400 calories of donuts, biscuits, & chips = 1400 calories of lean protein, veggies, & complex carbs. Although both technically fulfills the allotted calories…
-
If you are eating the right things ... right as in nutrition rich things then you shouldn't be hungry. Lean proteins, complex carbs, veggies, and WATER! Lean protein & high fiber foods will make you feel full longer. That is the key to eating to lose weight ... pick the foods that will make you feel full longer so that…

Probably something to share on your own news feed with your MFP friends or your personal blog rather than the forums.

I think BMI is a good starting point for goal setting purposes but it certainly shouldn't be the holy grail by any means as it does not take into account a number of important factors: * body frame - petite, hearty, athletic etc. * body fat weight vs. lean muscle weight - body builders will typically be 'obese' on BMI but…

The timing of workout has no impact on the rate of weight loss. And actually, 80% of weight loss is dietary. Exercise is more for heart health & keeping glucose levels at bay. In regards to your daily caloric intake - How tall are you?? I ask because I'm 4'10" a female and when I was losing I consumed 1200. MFP generic…
-
AMEN! & +1 I have to just point out that if there were truly one universal approach or method to lose & maintain weight then perhaps there wouldn't be such an obesity epidemic or the scores of former MFP on the INTRO or GETTING STARTED forum. If consuming 2200 calories works for you GREAT! If 1500 calories works SUPER!…

oooo good one! There are these 'cookies' from the Kroger bakery that is absolutely to DIE for! It is called Apple Cinnamon Cookie but it's closer to a cake consistency. It is a very dense & savory little treat. The first time the hubs brought it home I had 2 thinking other Kroger cookies ranged in the 150 calories each.…

That's only 4 lbs! The human body is like 65% water so yea weight WILL flux. Some have a lower flux range of 1-2 but I have seen others report that their normal flux range as high as 7lbs. Depends on your body really & only you can figure out if your weight is steadily climbing (as in actual weight gain) or just within its…
