Congrats on the great progress! :) Being 'fun size' extra weight just doesn't have a lot of places to go! LOL I'm 4'10" so I completely understand what a tremendous feat losing 49 lbs is! Kudos! If you are looking for support to lose I'd try the GET STARTED forum - this is for maintainers. Best of luck to you - you can do…

Absolutely yes! :) In maint a weight range is essential otherwise you're going to drive yourself batty with the normal bodily weight flux. lol Just keep in mind & don't panic if your weight range is less or more than the norm. Everyone is different so what is a normal range for one person may not be for another. Good luck!

Plateaus are a good thing in Maint. If you are still loosing try the GET STARTED forum instead - this is for maintainers. Good luck!

+1 Also, I'm with @lorrpb - not sure what you mean by "eating normal." Eating normal as without measure & logging? Or eating normal as in eating the way you use to? If eating normal means without logging & weighing food that is something only you can figure out over time if you are one of those people who can maintain…

First of all congrats on your one year maint anni!! And yes ... adjusted down ... kinda. I subscribe to the theory that my body will stop losing when it is at it's maximum efficient weight. So I just carried on with what I was doing until I naturally stopped losing. My orig GW was 110 from 136. My stretch goal was 107. My…

+1 @g2baleoparx Do you have any sort of 'intervention weight' set? That helps tremendously to differentiate from normal flux & actual gain. And for the most part I'd not say affirmatively that a 'normal' weight flux range exists because every body holds on to water weight differently. Personally my weight flux within 1-2…

I didn't. I just let my body tell me. When I stopped losing weight and found that it was easily maintainable, I just came to the conclusion that my CW is where I should be. Have maintained 2+ yrs now w/zero regain.

+1 I'm 4'10" and have never used MFP #s because I'm as far away from being average in anything. LOL Try to use an external calculator for a more accurate starting point like this one. This will give you recommended macros in addition to height, age, & activity appropriate TDEE. It's not locked in stone & you may still need…

I think in order for logging to be less of a burden you have to change your mind set about it. My perspective is not that I'm on any sort of a "program" or this (logging) is a temporary 'thing' that I have to endure to get to goal X. For me logging is a vital tool that I have consciously & purposely incorporated as a…

hmmmm ... I'm not sure what your definition of "eat a lot of food" is but if you eat more than you burn (above TDEE) then you will gain weight. Cardio in maint is more for heart health and balancing blood glucose levels. I do about 30 minutes of cardio and body weight strength training & have maintained 2+ yrs now. If you…

Maint may seem way more scarier because there is no end to it ... it's for the rest of your life type of commitment and that in it of itself can be a very overwhelming thought. It took me about 18 months for my brain to kind of catch on to the body. Maint is a lot more mentally challenging I think than weight loss. Key to…

Isometric holds to start then once your core is more solid move to body weight strength training. If you look at my photo, that muscle definition is solely from body weight strength training. Best of luck to you.

Congrats!

Wrong forum ... this is for maintainers who has already reach goal. Try INTRODUCTION or GETTING STARTED to find peer support at the same stage as you are. Good luck!

Water weight possibly. Are you drinking enough water? Is this 2 lbs within your maint weight range? Or are you trying to maintain at one specific number? Because the latter will drive yourself mad. The human body is 60% + made of water so weight flux is normal. I recommend to set a weight range and only worry if you go…

Personally I did not pay any attention to any weight loss advice on MFP but I didn't seek any weight loss advice on MFP either. It is important to mention that I am one of those people who believe that my body "knows" what it should weigh and once it reaches that it'd automatically stop losing. Therefore I did nothing…

Hello & Congrats! I'm 4'10" & have maintained 2+ yrs now. And you are absolutely right, things when you're 'fun' size is a little different. Ann Taylor The Loft & The Limited has a fairly robust Petites section for clothes. Express sizes is also very accommodating to a smaller frame although not technically petite. And…

If there's a bar code I always scan it over taking what MFP has in the database. If there's not, then as @VeryKatie suggests, go to other sites to check inaccuracies ie. Sparkpeople or CalorieCount or the maker of the food's website. If you are looking at components of a dish I will scan the bar code of the ingredients and…

I think you've truly arrived at the #1 secret of success from losing weight to maintaining! Bravo to you!

After two years of maintaining it's really just a mindless habit now. A part of food prep routine. Also, if you use the meals feature it literally is 2 clicks to log food.

I don't consider myself to EVER be bad per say. There is no bad or good. Just more nutritional poor or rich choices. Having that said, I log everything I eat no matter if it is rainbow chard with red leaf lettuce or a bag of peanut M&Ms. Since I have some food sensitivity / allergies, having an electronic catalog of what I…

CONGRATS! The important thing which helped me switch my focus is to have new goals that's more fitness oriented rather than weight / nsv oriented. ie. run a 5K, build muscles, etc. Continuing to have specific goals will help you to stay focus & motivated and eventually your focus will just organically shift from losing to…

Thanks so very much for sharing this because I can totally see this happen to me the longer I maintain. I think the further away we get from when we were losing weight we kinda forget & it just gets easier it is to rationalize stuff. It's great that you're nibbing it in the butt before it gets out of hand. Bravo @nxd10…

For me, I never dieted. I went into this with the goal of this is a rest of my life level of change & commitment. So I made small incremental changes to my food repertoire & activities which can be sustained for the long haul. I have lost near 40 lbs, maintained for 2 years now, with zero regain. The key I think is to…

To a point yes but for me it's more about being mindful of portion sizes rather than physically not capable of eating a specific quantity. It also depends largely on the type of food. My body just doesn't seem to tolerate fried foods or heavy fat items any more. I get physically ill so I avoid those like the plague…

How you chose your first goal weight? Initially, I looked at the designated normal BMI range for my height & chose the weight in the middle of that range just as a starting point. Did you stop when you got there? Nope. When I was transitioning to maintenance, I carried on with what I was doing because I was very…

+1 It's always nice to have some idea of where you are on your journey and what you hope to gain from the connection.

I with @nxd10! Because MFP is for the average person so whether you're taller than the average or shorter (me) MFP may not be the most accurate. For example MFP had set my maint cal to 1600 (@45 yo; 4'10") When I ran my TDEE on a separate calculator my maint cal was something like 1498. So essentially blindly following MFP…
